Bitcoin: An Idea Worth Spending
May 25, 2013, 03:40:04 PM
Sorry for not being able to update in the last couple days. Before giving any justifications, I just wanna reiterate something: In order to be a scam, we have to be taking money from people. What kind of an elaborate scam would this be, if we don't even take any money.

Company Registration:
We were registered under a different name in Delaware, but our lawyer said that since we are going to have a heavy presence in the state of California (our offices, and production facility), it would be wiser to just register in California. And the California Secretary of State's office takes a little while to process the registration papers. We have already sent in our papers and hope to get registered in a day or two.

Office Location:
Those of who are in the Silicon Valley will agree with me when I say that it's really really hard to find a small manufacturing/industrial space for leasing. We are looking for about 1000-1500 square feet of industrial space where we could install our SMT assembly line. But most of the industrial spaces start at 10,000 to 20,000 square feet. The address mentioned on our website (1261 birchwood), is marked as an "R&D" place. We signed the lease, but found it to be unfit for our purpose. We need a cleaner and controlled environment for our machines. But we have been very busy looking at different places for a week now, and we have found a nice place on Montague in Santa Clara, and will finalize it by the end of this week.

Domain:
Well, the privacy setting was turned on by default. I will soon turn it off and enter our own address/phone number etc. We have nothing to hide.

So please give me a couple of days, I will post evidence about: the company registration, financial documents, the progress we have made for designing the case for the DXs, pictures of our new office, etc. Once we move in to our new place, all of you would be more than welcome to come visit us.

It's been more than a couple days. Any updates?

Not sure the address would be unfit for you, seeing that PLX used it.

Fwiw, I'd like to give TerraHash some time to get organized before dropping the judgement hammer.  There are a lot of good detectives in this forum that have seen many scams.  Trying to pull a scam involving illegitimate physical addresses would be a non-starter, considering that they've went as far as inviting people to visit.

Want to get the real story on their physical whereabouts and up-to-date information on lease agreements?

Option 1:  Search the internet, find some pictures, raise huge speculative red flags.
Option 2:  Send them an e-mail and ask them questions.  Post the results (or lack thereof) in the forum to promote/destroy their credibility.

Earlier on they mentioned that they are too busy being productive to deal with FUD/trolling. Lack of regular forum responses to some of the previous replies seems consistent with this.

Best case scenario, at this moment:  They continue working on providing great ASIC products and services, and working on leasing space i.e. imgur.com pics.
Worst case scenario, at this moment:  We admire cool DX pencil drawings and other artistic novelties, and continue watching other groups push on with real ASIC development.

I sincerely wish TerraHash great success.  This is quite an undertaking, and I admire anyone with the guts to take it on.

In their defense I emailed them a question and they responded within1 day.

If you think the content of that exchange would make a meaningful contribution to their credibility, please share it. Otherwise your statement is, like many in this thread, purely sentimental.

Not to their defense: they cannot respond to legitimate questions about their business.

Might be up in the SF area for the Memorial Day weekend. I know you will be moving in this weekend but will we will be able to drop by and say hi?

After initially posting a nonexistent address, then an address which had a 'for lease' sign in front, they have now completely removed the address from their website.

Draw your own conclusions.

my conclusion is that they are in the process of attaining a physical address. seems pretty obvious. so what's the fuss? read their about page, it's obvious they have not received much investment they must be simply working with a limited capital. if that's the case i'm sure they're in no rush to make an error in this aspect of their business, and a realtor btw is not going to take down the sign until the deal is 100% sealed. you're making a huge deal out of nothing like a dumb little bitch. pisses me off and I don't even have any bitcoins to purchase from TerraHash the day they begin operations officially, which sucks.

in my mind, and according to my theory, then everything would check out as logical if they had the physical address (and someone checked it) before they begin taking orders. if orders are taken before this time then I would say this is either impatient/shady or both. but otherwise, you're making too big a deal at this point.

Amir has 13 posts and he is providing a service ... better be careful.. he does not accept Escrow ..

While I am not keen on FUD (however well intended) I do have a couple questions that Terrahash should address.

You are offering assembly, which means you will need a certain amount of resources (space, equipment, personnel).

How are you going to accomplish this when the last two business addresses you have claimed for Terrahash are vacant?

The first address you listed, 1261 Birchwood Drive, Sunnyvale, CA 94089 has been vacant to over 6 months, confirmed by realtor.

The second address, 1800 Wyatt Drive, Suite 15, Santa Clara, CA 95054 is also vacant, confirmed by realtor.

Terrahash please explain. You offer no escrow which John K. on this forum offers for reasonable fee. This starts to look like a questionable enterprise.

well maybe he can answer this questions ... just be aware we do dig and dig for potential fraudsters and scammers

We have created the initial design concept of the case for DX Large. It can be seen at the following link:

http://terrahash.com/dx-large-case-design-conceptual-sketches/

This is NOT a final design, and we will make several iterations before finalizing it (e.g. rotating the power supply to face backwards, using brackets to mount the boards, bigger holes for fans etc.) This is just an update on our design process.

yes nice pencil drawings, couldn't ask for more

Thank you. We trashed two other concepts to choose this one. It has a sexy see through acrylic window on top. It will be stackable on two sides.

With that acrylic window, it's just begging for a blue (or perhaps adjustable color) LED to light that shit up on the inside ! ... but anyway, looking forward to following this project Wink

I have removed the privacy setting from the domain, and updated the address on our Contact Us page. We will be moving in our office sometime this coming weekend. So, if anybody is interested to come visit us, you can make an appointment for anytime next week.

Wish I still lived on the left coast. I'd come by just to say hi and see what's happening. I like Sunnyvale (though I could do without San Jose Tongue)
