So you want Bkk to perfect his design without sample chips, so you can use his design to make money?

I figured to purchase a lot from you, but now I highly doubt that I will purchase ANYTHING from you.

Good luck with that mentality.

No IIRC they even offered paying him to use the design. He is getting some batch 1 samples anyway, calm the unnecessary hostility.

Are you sending your sample chips to Bkk?

One option that I wish that was available was to have either the 16 or 64 board to order without Avalon chips being installed. Hopefully this would be cheaper and allow me to get a system up faster as I don't have to deal with the wasted time of shipping chips back and forth.

So, you have access to a reflow oven?

Just curious.

Tricky warranty questions may arise if one of the reflow ovens (TerraHash's or yours) winds up not being calibrated properly and, as a consequence, damages/destroys one or more of the electronic components.

Yeah I work for an electronics company that has a reflow oven I can use after hours. For me I am most concerned about the turn around time. If I can get a board from terrahash or directly from BBK that should help me to get mining with the chips faster.
Pick & Place machine also I presume?
Do you have a plan for the solder paste stencil - e.g. source/thickness?
Solder paste in mind? (Assuming everyone is going to use lead based since it reflows at such a nice low temp and is all around awesome)

Lead-based solder is basically outlawed in California now - this just FYI.

TerraHash, would it be possible to setup a mailing list on your site to sign up for status updates?

Your time frames sound way too optimistic to me, but time will tell.

FWIW I'm getting the klondike design assembled by a local company i know - between 30 and 50 boards min. [would gladly pool an order with anyone local of course], i'll post my tiered price quote when i get it (e.g. price for 10/100/1000 assemblies) so you can compare

this is the type of thing that benefits greatly from economies of scale of course.

When is Avalon releasing the chip specs? All the designs are currently on hold because of Avalon's failure to release the specs. They said early may.

So many delays in this game! Suppose it kind of is a whole new type of device though, personal currency minter. Who reckons the CIA are playing dispruption?!  Roll Eyes Tongue

Well, when you get stock of the chips an start the manufacturing I'll probably be one of the first to order.  Even for the small prebuilt mod board, 4.5gh/s for 2btc is great compared to using gpus.  And it's small enough as an easy upgrade path for us smaller miners.
I hope it goes well for you Terrahash!

@Terrahash: why did you change your address to 1261 Birchwood Dr. (an empty place up for lease), after someone (Inspector 2211) found that on your first address mentioned, 1258 Birchwood Dr., there was nothing to be found?

ps  got this info elsewhere so I'm not stating the above is accurate.

Cheesy

@Terrahash, when will the website allow for pre-orders, or are you going to wait until you have products ready to ship?

Why no escrow?

How is your backround in business generally or in the manufacturing electronics scene?
