Think for yourself
The problem is lack of reading the readme.
Well, I just tryed 3.1.0 and it works fine in the same environment. It seems even 3.0.1 works. I guess it really was something with the drivers/sdk, although i didn't change anything.

That sounds great.

We are all very happy that you didn't have to RTFM.  That would have just been too crazy. Smiley

I see that a newer version already up - 3.1.0, but it seems to have mostly BFL support, so I'll leave a message anyway.
I tryed to mine Litecoin on 3.0.1 when it was out, but it just crashed as soon as I launched it, never even generated a .bin file. For a moment I thought that something might be broken because I just installed 13.4 drivers instead of beta ones (considering they are essentially the same, just whql signed), but then I ran good old 2.11.4 and everything worked perfectly, while 3.0.1 still crashed.
Didn't try 3.1 version because all of my cards are hard at work right now, don't want to screw anything.
So the question is - what could be the problem?
System is - 2 x 7950, 13.4 catalyst and was 2.6 app-sdk, but I guess catalyst overwrote it to its internal version even though I unchecked it while installing.

Why don't you use a command prompt so you can capture the error?

Scrypt mining on a cpu is death and you're slowing your gpu as you see

Hello,

I'm using cgminer 3.1.0 to mine bitocins and minerd 2.2.3 to mine litecoins. I have o good problem. Minerd strangle cgminer. All the power of cpu or gpu go to the first.. At the begining this was verified at my laptop and then (after changing litecoin pool becouse I found another one better than the first) at the desktop too. Can anyone help me to use the two programs indipendently from each eather?

Thanks
Assuming minerd isn't touching GPUs, since it's presumably pooler's cpuminer, try using one less thread than your i7 has physical cores.  This should leave enough CPU juice for cgminer to handle the GPU efficiently.  That is operating under the assumption that you aren't suffering from some 100% CPU bug running cgminer, in which case you need to change something to fix that regardless of whether or not you scrypt mine.

Or if you have multiple gpus, hard code a device to each

I have an Intel i7 and one AMD Radeon HD 6570

What program I can use to mine litecoins if I use cgminer to mine bitcoins?

You shouldn't split gpus. You can split different types tho like gpu, cpu?, asic, fpga

Bad idea

It is an answer for me? If yes can you explain better? If not possible to mine with both programs what program suggest you to mine litecoins?

Today I received the Jalapeno and it is currently hashing away for us.  I also moved our equipment into the air conditioned closet and hooked it up on our dedicated electrical circuits.  Enjoy the cgminer screenshot:

Linux since 1997 RedHat 4
...
If there is anything else that you need please let me know.
It's all the the README
"platform" "gpu map"
(and if you are trying to mine on nVidia also you are wasting your time)
Sorry I can't read the README for you and transfer it to your brain.
And I wont read it for you either.

If you look closely when you read the README it also tells you how to make money (seriously)
