I like the idea of Bit Instant but in practice buying coins through Bit Instant hasn't been easy or Instant. This isn't to say that it's the fault of Bit Instant but more of the partners who in my experience didn't even know what a Bitcoin was and had no clue what they were doing. Getting the money to Bit Instant through the couriers is the only problem.

I think this is mainly just a problem in the US (besides some other obvious, like north korea and iran).  

blame it on republicans and the UIGEA

on topic:  try looking at some of these other currency exchange sites, and you'll see how good bitinstant is, hah

I sent a $499.95 transfer to Bitinstant via moneygram > ZipZap. Got a confirmation mail from zipzap saying that they have received the funds but I havent heard anything from you guys about the status of the transfer. Can you look into this?

Think I have misplaced the order ID, can you track it through my last name? I can pm you any other details that you might need to track down my order and get it transferd.

I have used bitinstant many times in the past, but my BTC purchase hours ago has simply disappeared.

At 3:14 PM PDT today I initiated a purchase of $500 in bitcoins.

Seven and a half hours later I still have no email confirmation, and the last entry on my order status is stamped Mon Apr 1 22:19:11 2013 UDT (5 min after submission) and reads
674aa029-f0fc-4407-8109-091e2373f4fa MTGox Connection Error. 

I submitted this message to the customer support form on your Website an hour ago but have received no response.

My funds were transferred promptly from Dwolla but seem to be DOA at Bitinstant after the first 10 minutes.  You promise transfers within an hour and we are WAY past that point!  I want the transfer completed or the funds returned ASAP!

I see that I am not the first to have this problem today.  This appears to be unprofessional and I think we all deserve an explanation of what is going on.

That was literally all the money I had that I was going to invest in bitcoin. I am broke now.
 
Please have some sympathy. How was I supposed to know APIResponse=Redeemable code?

bitinstant cost more or less than $3-4?

As with many exchanges, the fees are based on your volume and other factors based on how you use the site and it's features.  You can find the fees clearly listed on the BitInstant website.  Smiley

First off, the confirmation email you guys sent me clearly states: "We have made a direct deposit into your MTGox account and there is no need to use the coupon system on this order" So why I'm now being directed to enter in a code is beyond me..

Secondly, MtGox support told me to try entering that code LONG before I had even created my account here, let alone posted that info. So if someone did steal my code or whatever, it surely wasn't from my posting that reply because when I tried to use it before, long before I had posted any of that information here in these forums, it gave me the same error message, and I have not posted it anywhere else. Just in emails to MtGox support.

Ok, give me 24 hours. I will find the account that redeemed it and freeze it.
Approaching 3 weeks even with Rachel saying tech support did a manual transfer

$35 Dwolla USD -> mt.gox USD

The message: Dwolla failed verification - unable to locate

Dwolla paid out but still no funds at mt.gox, no emails either other than the Dwolla confirmation.
