Thanks man Smiley

I spend a lot of time on my design Smiley

I'm in the top 4  Grin

You are the future winner.

You do more with a simplistic schematic than smaragda does with a billion lines.

Your design is simple, elegant, immediately recognizable, aesthetically pleasing, and utilizes color in a subtle and stunning fashion.

Your "less is more" approach is highly successful because you see fit to serve the spirit of quark unlike smaragda who tries to overpower the logo with scale and an overabundance of geometrics to compensate for a lack of cohesion.

Btw. has the voting between the entrants finished already? Otherwise the result of this poll could cause strategic voting.

I just registered coming from  forum.qrk.cc and I voted for martijnps design. There are other good ones in the ring...boxxl made a good one as well imho. But while these are professional design from what you can see in the result and in the idea behind, the result of smaragda is a laugh. I mean, its cool that he_she provided a design but it lacks of all that a logo needs. Its not scalable, not suitable for masses and lacks a unique look. The fact that it takes the lead way ahead can only be explained by peer-mobilization or fakeaccounts. Both would be a problem for the contest.

Thanks a lot quarkfx! Wink

I personally voted for mjbmonetarymetals. But I'm loving martijnp design also. Hard decision. But I'm fine as long as smaragda won't win.

Thanks!

The current logo of Quark is good. But a good design can have a huge different.
We shall see this year... the marketcap of Quark Smiley

...with a logo design that fails its very purpose...

Go tell that to those that have participated in a logo CHANGE contest and have come up with the EXISTING logo as their submission!?!?!    Huh

ROFLMAO!   Grin

Don't worry... I will eventually have to leave my workstation and/or go to sleep... so you won't have to deal with my responses!!!   Wink

Edit:  ...you will just have to read my responses all together later!

There is nothing wrong with the orig logo my friend. It is the textural and color treatment of the orig logo that needs refinement.

You are trying to reinvent the wheel but have blown the tires out in the process.

I have no horses in this game. I am looking for the most marketable logo for quark and yours is not it.

You continued acquiescence to our concerns shows me enough to know you couldnt care less about quark.

What is unprofessional is to call other people names or attack their work

Please be respectful of other peoples work

I as a customer would be very hesitant of approaching a designer who behaved in the above ways

constructive criticism is professional behaviour

such as

i do not like that design

I prefer this persons design

Here are some helpful tips (work is too busy looking)

Wrong. Those are not professional critiques. A professional designer responds to the artist's program. I see you have never been in a design jury. Well let me educate you then.

A valid critique is "this logo fails to adhere to the program" or "the designer seems more interested in superfluous geometrics than the motif".

Constructive criticism can only take place when the designer accepts said constructive criticism.

What we have now is an amateur who draws nice pictures and has rigged the voting to claim a substantial prize with a logo design that fails its very purpose while calling very concerned quarkers "trolls".

Allow is 100% correct.

agree with your professional critiques

but am I not correct when i say it is unprofessional to call other people names or attack their work
