Doomed to see the future and unable to prevent it
Tether and Bitfinex are closely intertwined in my opinion.

But I will nonetheless try to refrain from posting additional stuff that is related to Tether unless something
really crazy/interesting/shady happens that would be of interest to Bitfinex users as well.

Intertwined and related but I think many customers that have decided to stay at Bitfinex despite all the FUD follow this thread for information directly about the platform. After thinking about what Ente said I think he's right that we should do it a new Tether thread rather than here. Of course, mayax will continue to spam incoherent nonsense here regardless.

Edit:
If there is a major development a don't see any problem in posting a link here to a new thread but filling it up with page upon page of argument probably isn't a good idea.

PM me a link if this thread gets started please.

Bitfinex pondering a move to Switzerland. Going on their track record I wonder what they'd have to do to convince the Swiss they were wonderful.

Would this transform your perception of BFX?

Not really. I find it more informative about the progression of Bitcoin into the mainstream. Some countries are getting ahead in providing a regulatory system that is crypto friendly and exchanges are moving in. Malta is another example with Binance. In the long term, I predict that exchanges will face the option of adapting into full KYC operations in regulated markets or eventually losing out as traditional forex brokers start to introduce crypto to their platforms.

what is it with this mayax person and his endless and epic attempts to scare people about exchanges? he must've written about a million words trying to convince people that they'd lost everything with btc-e.

i can only guess he's an embittered former exchange operator himself which makes the guy mark karpeles.

I checked his post history out once and that's all he does. I've ruled out the possibility of him being a paid shill as he just doesn't have the cognitive ability to make a reasoned argument. So an embittered something or other.

I don't think Ente's objection was about how interesting it is but rather whether it is off-topic. Although Tether and Bitfinex are owned by the same parent company it is a separate service.
...

You are probably right, but I´d argue that there are several other reasons why Tether discussions aren´t really
off-topic even though this is the Bitfinex thread:

-they are not only owned by the same company, but the upper management team is basically identical
(in the hypothetical scenario where some of the executives are arrested this would have obvious
consequences for both Tether and Bitfinex)
-a huge percentage of Tether issuances ended up in Tether wallets that are controlled by Bitfinex, Bitfinex obviously plays a crucial role in the Tether ecosystem
-Bitcoin price rallies that started after Tether issuances in the past often originated at Bitfinex, which led
the price increase before other exchanges started catching up due to arbitrage
...

Tether and Bitfinex are closely intertwined in my opinion.

I can´t imagine that many people find talking about some irrelevant UI change more interesting than
discussions about hundreds of millions of backed (according to @TheQuin) or unbacked (according to @mayax) tokens
that are definitely influencing the cryptocurrency markets.

I don't think Ente's objection was about how interesting it is but rather whether it is off-topic. Although Tether and Bitfinex are owned by the same parent company it is a separate service. This is the place for Bitfinex customers to discuss UI changes and the like. If you want to start a Tether thread I'll be happy to discuss the subject with you. Or you could post in mayax's thread but it is a bit heavy on juvenile trolling and lacking in any substance.

Tether/Bitfinex prints $300,000,000 and Bitcoin jumps nearly $1000 in less than 30 minutes
...

According to the official Tether website only 70 million USDT out of the 300 million USDT have been
issued so far (the rest has only been authorized). Therefore I´d suspect that the bounce of the Bitcoin
price was related to traders that are participating in the attempt of frontrunning Tether issuances.

@Ente
Sorry that I´m talking about Tether again in this thread, but (at least to me) the Tether speculations
and discussions about the potential ramifications for Bitcoin are far more interesting than discussions
about how the Bitfinex trading "menu list" works.

I can´t imagine that many people find talking about some irrelevant UI change more interesting than
discussions about hundreds of millions of backed (according to @TheQuin) or unbacked (according to @mayax) tokens

"Institutional Investors" are going to send $300 million dollars to a fraudulent company.     Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

The shills and idiots will say :“Tether is insignificant. The price has increased due to strong fundamentals. Not a bubble and no market manipulation.”

I know, but i never used ticker list for that. I have it hidden most of the time and check the ticker prices only when i want to see daily movers.

Thus i need to make 3 clicks to open pair i want to trade from ticker favourites list (click to open list-click to chose pair-click to hide list), compared to just one click for choosing from dropdown menu-much easier and faster to switch this way, only now its clogged by coins i never trade nor watch.

I've always used the ticker favourites. I'm guessing from what you say that the dropdown used to hide any pairs you have disabled in Account > Currencies and pairs settings. I've tried that and they remain displayed so they must have changed the way that works. I can't really suggest anything other than try to contact them and say you don't like the change. If enough people do that they might reverse it.

TheQuin: thanks, this works for ticker list only though. it has no impact on whats showing up under "trading" drop down menu. I hope its just some bug
If you want to trade a certain pair, you can just click on the pair from the your favorites list.

Anyone knows how can I remove EUR and some other shitcoin pairs from "Trading" menu list?

I used to have hidden pairs i don't follow, but since couple of weeks ago its showing everything on the list and i didnt figure out how to hide them again. Undecided what a mess

The only way I've found is to use the favourites list (the star symbol). Then you can build the list to only include pairs you want to follow.

HI Smiley
whether it is possible to withdraw money from the exchange to a bank account.
1. how much money
2. How long does it take to withdraw money to the bank?

Yes, it is possible if you have a verified account. If you need to get your account verified it will likely take about 5 weeks.
