Legendary Escrow Service - Tip Jar in Profile
Bitfinex.com is down, with not a single syllable of explanation other than to say the website is unavailable.  What happened?  How can a major exchange just go dark?

It seems i can access the domain just fine today. I did not find them being unavailable so i guess it was only temporarely or maybe depending on your internet connection at that time.

i got this:

Your account is currently on withdrawal hold. Your withdrawal(s) will be locked in a Pending Approval state until the hold is lifted.

messaged support will update if needed, no idea why.

edit: just to do with a password reset should be no worries, finex were quick to reply on support email! nice
did you get that message when trying to withdraw bitcoin or fiat ? I have also tried their service before and found they are quite nice regarding customer support. Did your withdrawl get processed now ?

Well it was in the withdraw section so i think it covers all withdraws.

There service is top notch mate, understood my problem and fixed it fast, i hope they are setting some type of gold standard to continue forever.

I would like to know if actually Bitfinex is supporting  sms 2fa and google auth

thanks
google auth 2fa yes I use that everyday, SMS 2fa I'm not sure.

SMS 2factor is working, but just when you want to withdraw coins.

The login is simple no need to 2factor auth.

Most likely because their hot wallet is empty...

Seriously, it states quite clearly that withdrawals can take up to 12 hours.
Ha ha.
"Please note that while most withdrawals of Bitcoins/Litecoins will be processed within 2 minutes, the guaranteed processing time is within 12 hours."
Bitfinex owes us an explanation.  Withdrawal used to take minutes, and now it takes hours.
In the immortal words of the prison warden in Cool Hand Luke, "What we've got here is a failure to communicate."
What's going on? Bitfinex will never tell!  Bitfinex doesn't give a feckless shart.

Withdraws are slower than they used to be.  I am waiting for an hour and a half.  The withdrawal history page says "processing."
I wish I knew why Bitfinex withdrawals are so slow.

Bitfinex seems to be having delays in BTC withdrawals over the last several days.

Stays "processing" for several hours before finally going out.

I confirmed the same with another user.

+1

i waiting for one hour now...   hopefully their wallet just waiting for confirmation

EDIT : i 've received my coin @2hours
I am always defending bitfinex on here even though they don't read this thread any more.  But I have also been waiting for 3 btc withdraws today for around 10 hours now and it's very frustrating.  Their new live order books are awesome, but these changes must be keeping them busy or causing problems with withdraws today. :p
Don't know if anyone else is waiting like I am?
Peace

Update
Need to update that the withdraw did come through after around 22 hours. Yesterday I had another largish withdraw take around 8 hours for no apparent reason either

Does the withdrawl process is manual there? It says it can take upto 12 hour for bitcoin withdrawl and i have my withdrawl reqest pending till now for almost 30 minute. It was small 0.09BTC so why it is taking so much time, don't they can have 0.09 in their hot wallet. On past i used to get smaller bitcoin withdrawl processed withing 10 minute.  Huh
The withdraw process is automatic on amounts like that only if you have 2fa setup on that account.  If you don't then the withdraw is not automatic and you have to approve it, which can be done through an email they send you.
Withdraws can often take a long time depending on the time of day.
Peace

I've traded hundreds of coins through bfx.  When you have a problem, they do solve it.   One wire I sent got lost.  They were helpful and as prompt as I could have hoped, considering that they don't have phone support.  No crypto exchange has phone support.
I stay away from Bitstamp, and I try to avoid Coinbase, because of the way they ride your @zz with their kyc and aml policies.  It's scary.  I feel better about using bfx.
I get it when people have "urgent" problems and are upset, because I've been there.  Coinbase once lost 12 coins from my account, and that was when coins were worth about a thousand dollars.  I went effing ballistic on them, going on twitter and reddit, threatening legal action.  I still have a tendency to get kind of abusive when something goes wrong.

I am not so sure if this thread is monitored any more by BFX staff - you might have a better chance by trying a private message on reddit and/or the TeamSpeak server of the BitcoinMarkets subreddit.

One reason I won't use Bitfinex is that I refuse to use reddit. If they can't be bothered to watch this thread fuck them. They are Boycotted.
If you have questions for them just email them at their support email.  They always get back to me quickly.  It's too big an opportunity to boycott Bitfinex.  I agree their  community customer service is pathetic, but I don't know many exchanges that have good customer service.  It's kind of a Bitcoin industry thing to provide shit customer in my opinion.  Better than getting things done at a bank by 100% though.
