What's going on with USD rates? They are so low now. I wouldn't lend at these rates.

Could you please add withdrawals to Revolut? (https://revolut.com/) Pretty please?
This way we could ditch banks altogether.

Support helped. I was logged in with another IP (at work) and had to confirm also with clicking the confirmation link. Had to change my mail adress. Support said that @safe-mail.net accounts can not receive that link. Smiley

That's great news - I'm pleased it's resolved for you. Makes sense, I had wondered whether it might be a two-factor authentication issue, but I never got as far as wondering about alternative IPs!

Moving coins between Exchange, Deposit and Trading wallet is no problem.

I tried to withdrawal a lower amount now and wrote an email to support. Maybe they can help and fix it

No luck with a lower withdrawal from the deposit wallet? That sucks Sad Best of luck with support - I hope they respond positively (blimey, it says something that we regard support responding as a positive outcome... I hope finex realise they're haemorrhaging confidence).

MTGOX 2.0 in the making??

Looks like. I tried a withdrawal 2 times now. Both got canceled after 12 hours. No mail from support.  Huh

(Apologies for what may be a silly question - I only have a "deposit wallet" at Bitfinex).

Are you currently able to transfer funds between wallets? I've been able to make withdrawals (~1 BTC) from my deposit wallet (the swaps wallet), so I imagine (a) the problem is with their trading engine, and that affects users' trading wallets (and possibly exchange wallets too?), and (b) if you can transfer funds to your deposit wallet you might be able to get around the problem.

Can't withdraw due to negative balance on exchange (-$18)? But my BTC  balance on exchange is in the thousands of usd.
Why is my USD balance negative? Is it just a bug or something more sinister?
Any withdraw attempt is immediately canceled. Anyone else having this problem?

I'm having similar, but not exactly the same.

Trying to withdraw BTC and do get the email "Withdrawal #XXXXXX has been approved" but online status shows "Pending Approval..."  since about 9:30 AM EDT.

They said that the withdrawals were processed manually after the recent problems with trades and alleged data corruption. My test withdrawal (some 0.03BTC) had been pending for about 12 hours...

My best guess is that you are just done trading and your negative balance probably reflects "unsettled" yet fees. I've seen this before and this should all clear within a day or two. You may want to try withdrawing just a bit less than what is currently shown as you balance.

The exchange seems to be up and running now! I could cancel orders through api...

Until they took it down again! According to their Twitter page the issue seems to be primarily with the BTC/USD pair, but affects all pairs when the trading engine is down.

My balance is wrong now. It seems that they have "lost" some part of it. This exchange is a complete fuck-up!

www.twitter.com/bitfinex: We are experiencing data corruption issues and will be offline until corrected. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Dying storage sucks big time! Or is this maybe related to recent changes in backend logic?

There should be no such notion as "dying storage" (or "data corruption" due to an obscure hardware failure) at an exchange with daily volumes of a few million dollars...

I hope they didn't run with the money the whole exchange on a single disk

+1 but that's just how technology still works. Even the fattest (network-)RAID or whatever goes tits up at one point, even the least fat-fingered admin throws the wrong commands into the wrong console at one point... After all bitfinex.com still has "Beta" written on it somewhere, doesn't it?

BFX: It would be nice to see some kind of technical details about how your systems are implemented and secured. How many servers are behind the production systems? What redundancies are in place for storage, memory, network, power supply, physical locations. Load-balancing, Firewall, IPS, IDS, DDoS and so on? Sure, details that your competitors probably shouldn't know but your users sure could need some kind of reassurance after so many eff-ups in a row.
