I believe we should based on the current performance, Paalam beat the defending champion and that's a big thing in sports.

We have a lot of bettors for Paalam here as this thread has a lot of Filipino fans and we know this is only the 2nd gold of the Philippines if Paalam will win.
I hope he will not feel the pressure, just play his game,  and be smart as every throw and hit counts.

There will always be a pressure especially when you're in the highest stage.
Anyway, I don't really consider Paalam as an underdog in this fight. I don't know much about Yafai but it seems like he's an aggressive fighter base on his matches I've watched, quite similar with the Japanese guy.
So, I guess Paalam knows how to handle this one as he were able to dominate his Japanese opponent.

Let's see what will happen tomorrow.

Winding down.
Even if it is not Japanese, this will be his toughest fight because obviously, this is for the gold medal. I'm not sure why he became the underdog though, Yafai just went through the needle last fight while Carlo won in a UD fashion.
looking at their record Carlo Paalam has more bouts and wins compared to Galal Yafai but between the two Galal Yafai has been more active than Carlo Paalam.  I guess they either based it on their medal count, who has more recent fights in the ring or it's just that Galal Yafai is just far more popular than Carlo Paalam. anyway, being an underdog isn't really that bad.

I think it's good if he can feel the pressure so that it can bring the best out of him. As what we say, it's a do or die for him, win the gold for his country and get the 2nd gold for the Philippines. And we love to see him really bringing his best and A-game against Yafai so that there will be no doubt or controversy as who gets the win. It's good to be that he is the underdog, as Filipino bettors will also win big if Paalam wins.

He will be inspired and pressure at the same time, but more inspired because he knows that if he wins the Gold, his life will change with the millions of pesos he will receive from different donors, including those that are mandated by the law.

House and lot, car, free flights and cash... he will live a good life after that.

If he wants, he can reduce the risk by betting 10 million on his opponent, so regardless of the outcome, he will still make money. lol.

That's a good plan, but he better be careful with that because instead, he will bring honor to his country, he could bring shame to the Filipinos.

And also, I believe Paalam does not have the capacity to bet that big amount, so he will not likely do it unless there's a syndicate that will back him to realize this dark plan. Forget about this, this is the bad side of gambling but we know it's not worth risking as he is carrying the Philippines to achieve glory.

Hopefully, Carlo is going to beat Galal in this last very match in their division. If it happens that Carlo beats Galal, then we've got now our 2nd gold medal for the first time for so many years. But win or lose, this is already a silver medal assured so I just hope that he puts the last of his best on this match and will be ending upholding the gold of his life that will change not only his entire life but also will be part of the history not only for our country but as part of the historical moment of this years' Olympics.
His enemy is not Japanese so I'm confident that this will be a more fair game unlike the match of Neshty. I'm confident as well, Carlo have a chance here despite of being the underdog. He's young and very talented, I can't wait to watch his final match, let's go for the Gold and let's cheer him until the end, he's a great boxer to watch for.
I don't want to think about the last match of Nesthy as there's a controversy that's being brought by our fellow countrymen but a loss is a loss. They're justifying that because the opponent is from the host country so there's the advantage and favor but no, that's already it and has been decided by the judges and we can no longer change the result of it. Going back to Carlo, regardless of what race Galal is we just have to count on him and for sure that he's going to show the best that he can. Tomorrow is his day and it's going to be the best day for him regardless of the result but hoping that the fate will be in his favor and gold is going to be on him.

Just saw the latest result and Carlo Paalam won the match against the Japanese Ryomei Tanaka. Congratulation to Carlo Paalam for winning the Semi-Final match, advancing to the Finals, and a chance to get the Olympic gold medal.

also, Congrats to anyone who made a bet in favor of Carlo Paalam.

LOL, I'm just gonna comment about betting for the Japanese Boxer but hey, Winning via unanimous decision against the hometown bet Ryomei Tanaka is a very impressive achievement for Carlos Paalam, Looks like a second Gold Medal for the Philippines is almost since he already beat the previous medal holder on there class. Philippines should increase budget for athletes that competing the Olympics next time considering there performance rn.

Any win via unanimous decision is already a major accomplishment but winning against a Japanese boxer in their hometown is just a spectacular achievement on its own! Now, since Carlo Paalam has a guaranteed Silver Medal, I do hope that he brings home the gold on his next match.

I just find it very interesting that most olympians that represented the Philippines brought home a medal. This is indeed, the golden age of our country in this year's olympics. I do hope that in the 2024 Olympics, the Philippines' government support its athletes for more medals in the future.

Paalam has to be consistent, his opponent is not the best because he already beat the best which was the past Olympic champion. I know he is still very young, but the way he fights, he doesn't have fear and I know he will be aggressive all throughout and will win a gold medal. No wasting of time, I'm betting on him to win.

He needs to be aggressive so that he can score rounds from the judges. It won't be an easy fight for sure, but Paalam has been improving every fight in this Olympics and for sure he is oozing with confidence here. I will bet for him to win in this fight because of the good odds.

And yes, this is a golden era for Philippine Olympics, they have accomplished so much in this Olympics alone and for sure the government, regardless on who will win in the next election, should start setting aside budget for their athletes so that in 2024, they can bring more medals and honors for the country.

Still no betting odds until now.

Why are they listing this game when they can't provide the odds?

The fight will start in less than 2 hours,  it should be up by now.

if you want to try the new bookie here betja , they already have the odds for paalam vs yafai. some known bookies unfortunately haven't listed this yet.

i dont think they will run away this early if you are in doubt of their credibility. they are just starting to make a name, so they won't ruin their reputation this early. we can see that the PH bet is the underdog in this match.
He's the underdog but already beat the world champion and prove that he deserve to be on the gold medal match. I'm waiting for other betting site to offer this bet, I'll place my bet to Carlo despite of the odds because I know, this will be the second gold for the Philippines, he's the only hope now for the gold. Whatever the result, Carlo Paalam already have a good reputation in world boxing, he can go for more because he's still young.

There's a draw but I would not bet on the Draw as I want to see the winner of this competition. Carlo Paalam is probably the remaining active athlete now that has a big chance of bagging a gold medal, he did well in his past fights, so let's expect that he will give everything he has to get a big chance of winning the gold.

The odds still has not change, he is still an underdog, so it's a great news for the Filipino boxer backers.

^^ Philippine boxing is on a roll right now, Nesthy just fell short of the gold, but nothing to be ashamed of. Now, it will be Carlo Paalam's turn to bring another gold of the Philippines and everyone is hoping that this time it will happened. I just saw the feeds its 5-0, meaning he dominated his opponent. Will try to look at youtube to see the fight.
everything happens now as if the first time , multiple medals and waiting for at least 2 gold or 2 silver? this is really outstanding for all the Filipino sportsman and ladies.

Paalam is also favorite in this Go for Gold fight so i am aiming betting this time as i missed the one yesterday .

Carlo Paalam is actually a good boxer on his own merit. His footwork is great, his distancing and pacing is also good, plus the strength of his left is quite remarkable, as was shown on his fight against Shakhobidin Zoirov. Of course, Galal Yafai would be the favorite on this match-up, though it is also unwise to discount Carlo's tenure in the world of boxing.

This is a great bout for the gold, and no matter who of them wins, we're in for an Olympic treat.
Carlo Paalam proves that he deserve on the world stage and he has the chance now to take the gold which I’m confident that he can and he will do his best for the gold. He may be young but his heart is really in boxing, I’m actually surprised to see him in the finals, hopefully he can get another gold for our Country which many anticipate this already. Carlo will fight his heart out until the end.

You own the pen

There is no turning back as this is the last match. Galal Yafai might have the experience, but he seems to struggle against his last opponent and a narrow escape with 3-2 win. While Paalam beat the defending champion and then win by UD during the last fight.

So it's good a good risk to bet on him as the underdog, and I think he is confident and motivated to bring the next gold for the Philippines.

Hope he will get the next Gold medal for the Philippines since he is the only one right now who has managed to climb up to that point where he is one step away to win that gold medal. He needs to focus and not think about the price because it will lose his sense and strategy but looks like Carlo has some kind of undeniable strength that could hurt his opponent for every punch he is throwing and the strategy he is showing are some unique style that hasn't been got caught by his last opponents. If he keeps it up, the gold medal will be assured in his next fight.

Good news, Carlo Paalam is underdog in sportsbook.

Check the betting odds here https://sportsbet.io/sports/event/boxing/international/olympic-tournament/paalam-carlo-yafai-galal-610ba6c257dc6c61eae9bc58

Better put your bet early guys, who knows the odds might flip.

Nice odds, the fight will be this August 7, Philippine timezone. In the last final match in boxing, it was our representative that is listed as favorites, so we are confident that she will win, but unfortunately, she loses via unanimous decision. In this fight, Paalam is the underdog so it's really nice to gamble at these odds.

They base the odds on the achievement of boxer so Galal Yafai has an upper hand due to his medals and experience from his boxing career although Paalam beat the defending Champion, This final match is very crucial for the Filipino besides the pressure on winning the second gold for the Philippines, His enemy is currently hot and formidable, The odds is indeed great but it's too risky to bet. I will bet via live match and check Paalam performance on first round.
