thanks a lot for responding again , but I still don't fully understand it I mean like in general is there anything that I can do ??
also sometimes I'm getting 0 connections as it's showing in the picture
http://imgur.com/a/dRoUf
and it will stop staking at that point and it won't refresh if there is a new connection , so basically I have to close the wallet and open it again which is basically wasting a lot of staking time especially when I'm sleeping
That's pretty unusual. If you have your wallet open all the time, you should have many stable connections. Probably there is something wrong with your connection to the Internet - meaning you are behind a router with some unusually strict firewall, or maybe having problems with UPNP... There is not much you can do there, except for trying to use another PC or better another connection to the network.
What you could try is:
(a) add more nodes to your "Omicron.conf" (C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Omicron).
For example like this (this is my config):
Code:
addnode=159.203.62.235
addnode=138.68.148.172
addnode=139.59.228.205
addnode=46.101.167.84
addnode=107.170.221.177
or even like this (this is the active node list from the official block explorer):
Code:
addnode=104.237.2.189
addnode=116.86.221.62
addnode=138.68.148.172
addnode=139.59.228.205
addnode=159.203.62.235
addnode=165.16.139.168
addnode=165.255.85.182
addnode=207.6.74.177
addnode=212.34.248.234
addnode=213.152.162.84
addnode=24.200.66.3
addnode=46.113.123.250
addnode=5.146.222.82
addnode=5.155.58.185
addnode=54.149.220.3
addnode=68.168.161.233
addnode=77.66.16.225
addnode=79.175.197.136
addnode=92.224.49.23
addnode=92.229.82.66

(b) if that doesn't help, play a bit with the "map port using UPnP" checkbox (it is in the Settings->Options->Network tab). Change it, then close/reopen the wallet and let it stake for a day. Se if you there is any difference.

If that doesn't help... hope others could suggest something (maybe debug.log should be checked).

also I've noticed that when there is low conncetions ( under 3 usually ) some of the blocks that I find showing " generated but not accepted " , so is that fixable ?? cause it's only happening when there is low amount of connections
That is expected. When you have unstable connection, your mined block cannot be broadcasted fast enough, and some other user stakes a block and wins that one. However do not worry too much - your coins do not lose their age, and the same coins will stake again very soon, and one of subsequent attempts will finally be accepted.

thanks in advance my friend
You're welcome Smiley

guess who's back

Yes, basically connections show the number of people who have wallets open. In reality it is a bit more complex: more exactly it is the number of wallets or just nodes running and accessible from your network. It could be a regular user wallet, or a headless node (think Linux), or a block explorer node, a seednode etc.

Many users keep their wallets running all the time, and that ensures they (and others as well) have many connections. The longer you keep your wallet open, the more connections it will find.

My Mac wallet has been 'Out of Sync' for the past many days.
Is it just me or is anybody else also experiencing this?

My Windows wallet sync and stakes fine

Found out that my wallet somehow forked.
Backed up wallet.dat & peers.dat, downloaded and resynced from scratch, now it works fine.

ok damn i have only  798 OMC, min 10k to receive dividens right? Is there chances to lower down the min requirement Tongue?

why don't you just buy more OMC, the minimum requirement was set from the beginning.

My Windows wallet syncs and stakes just fine. Has a lot of connections too...

Do you have connections? How many?

btw what does connection means ?? does it mean the number of people who are opening their wallet atm ?
during my first 4 or 5 days I was only getting 1 active connection , but after that I started to see 10 and more active connections
also when there is only 1 connection my wallet can't keep up to date with the blocks , I had to close it and open it in order to be updated
but when there is 5 or more connections life is really easier  Smiley my wallet is always up to date with the blockchain and staking is working really great
now it's showing only 1 active connection  Sad

If you receive your coins to your wallet in one big transaction, then your coins will stake earlier. But that doesn't change much, as during the first stake they will split themselves to two equal parts (they are called "inputs"), as if you sent the coins to your wallet in two transactions instead of one.

After your two inputs stake, they will divide themselves into two parts again, so you will have 4 inputs. And so on, until wallet decides (lets don't go into details on how it will decide that), the coins (inputs) should not be split anymore.

So, regardless of whether you transmitted the coins to your wallet in one single transaction, on in several small ones, after few days, you will have the same situation - plenty of smaller inputs, which are staking from time to time.

An one more thing - the rewards will be the same in the long run, regardless of how many inputs do you have in your wallets. You will stake 5% per annum, one way or another Smiley

thanks a lot for responding , I was about to combine all the txs in one but I found that someone replied to my question
not sure why I found that advice while I was trying to understand POS , much appreciated my friend and thanks for your time  Smiley

You're definitely welcome! Smiley
That advise (to combine all inputs to get higher aggregated stake) may actually work well for some coins, depending on the actual number of coins at wallet balance, and actual network weight. Actually if your holdings are really small, its always better to have them combined, otherwise you may not be able to stake at all in practice. But for most PoS coins, and for balance of average size it wont do any difference.
What I wrote above should be correct particularly for OMC (based on how its wallet works), assuming you have your wallet open for staking 24/7.

hopefully someone will respond , cause I stated before I'm totally newbie in POS world
I'm trying to research more about the basics of POS , and I found that if you receive for example 10K coins in your wallet coming with one transaction is better than receiving them with like 10 transactions
is that really better for staking ?? and in my case I'm still building my wallet by throwing like 0.06 BTC in yobit every 3 days and then sending the OMC to my wallet , so should I create a new address and move the coins to the new address ??

hopefully you got my point

so, do i need to keep wallet working all the time to get coins from staking?

Yes your wallet needs to running in order to stake. You also have to at least unlock it for staking if you want them to stake.

Fresh good start. I don't like YoBit but creates a chance for those who missed the ICO hop on to the train easily. Any news on Bittrex Gladimor?

you currently can buy about 614 OMC for 0.00018000 BTC /OMC on https://yobit.net/en/trade/OMC/BTC

yeah now there are good offers available in yobit , yesterday I got even better prices

but I have downloaded the wallet , and to be honest this my first desktop wallet experience and I'm kinda lost
I ran the wallet and the green bar at the bottom showed that my wallet is up to date with all the blocks , but the wallet is still showing out of sync
I did a small test withdrawal from yobit to my wallet , but it's not showing in the wallet while it's showing in the OMC explorer

is there any video tutorial on how to setup the wallet and how staking works

EDIT : finally the wallet synced , but would appreciate a tutorial anyways especially for staking stuffs

Starting next week, I will be setting a minimum price of 0.0002-0.0003 BTC/OMC for private sales.

is there anyway to always keep updated with the private price without asking you every time , cause I don't want to bother you with my constant questions
I'm trying to get some cheap OMC on yobit , it's really hard to catch good deals but so far I was able to collect 400 OMC with only 0.05 btc
the price was swinging between 15K-10K , but that 400 was the only I could got due the low supply in yobit
now cheapest price is 25K

you might need to approach him tho as the price varies different by alot factors, pump and dump, dividends made, uptrend coins movement and so. Just make an order in yobit, hope it filled for you good luck!

that's why I asked , cause I don't want to keep bothering Adam with my questions and I'm really interested in OMC with reasonable price
last time I checked the private price was two weeks ago and it was 27K per coin , but the price is varying daily
as I said I was able to get 400 OMC 2 days ago with avg price of 12.5K per coin , but if you check yobit you can see that the prices there aren't accurate cause there is low supply and kinda low demand , the spread is insane there
