Hydroponica was from the good old days of crypto-mania, when you could make more profit mining bitcoin off a graphics card than litecoin or any of the new litecoin clones. It was a time before ASIC farms and when Silk Road was still online. It was a time when you could go to the Newbie section and find out about the latest ready to insta-mine clones before the rest of the real members.
Hydroponica was a mean, yet humorous fellow, who hated some of those new coins, then made two of them on his own: Mastercoin and GIL. Mastercoin is still traded at Cryptsy, but is not the other newer Mastercoin.
He was last seen replying in October 2013 to his own reputation thread regarding the 33% interest rate he had to pay on some BTC loans.

well, finally found it. sql injection from trade pages. someone else who had been running the script on their site with cloudflare installed found many of these in their cloudflare logs.

My little bit of BTC/KDC is gone, i've accepted it.
