Good work Mr. Optiminer Smiley   ด็้็้็้็้็้༼◉Д◉༽ด็้็้็้็้็้   So far about 385-400 sols for a 390, 220-230 for a 380 and up to 300 for a 280x all under windows, so cant complain.  It seems Claymore is playing catchup, but there is a lot of suspense - his next version is coming out quite soon.  oh the excitement lol

Help!!!, what real works bat file with watchdog and autorestart miner on WINDOWS you now?

Hmm I havent set that up to be honest, i never needed to.  Anyways try running your bat file with -help or --help or -h whatever and you'll see the details of the commands.  Or go http://www.cryptominingtalk.com/bat-files/ and see the examples, like do

title Rig6
:start
genoil.exe -c zec-us.coinmine.pl:7007 -u fr4nkthetank.6 -p x -P 0 -f 2 -i 20 -w 64 -k zec zec
cls
timeout /T 10
goto start

that should work I suppose, havent tried it since genoil Zec.  anyone remember that lol

Sorry, I forgot to write the cards type that I use. I have RX 470 series cards. If the only way is using linux to get the best speed, optiminer isn't profitable for many users who use expensive electricity.

You can always flash custom voltage/clock values on your GPU bios, under Windows, then run it on linux. I undervolt my Nanos using a vbios rom I made on Windows, and it works perfectly. There's no need to alter any card settings in software after that.

I can use multi os for mining, this is acceptable but I can't use different vga bioses for each coin. This isn't useful type.

I run my cards undervolted and underclocked, so my RX 470's running at 1100/1750 get about 230 on Claymore's 11.1
On Optiminer, the same settings are getting me about 210, so about 10% lower at the same power draw, but Optiminer has historically been better on Linux.

RX 470 (MSI and sapphire) get 262-272 on Ubuntu 16.04 without undervolting and underclocking on default settings.
Is it really beneficial to underclock/undervolt?
somehow 1.6 is less stable for me (so far) than 1.5 and 1.5 was less stable than prior.

I am getting this error with 1.6:

OpenCL error: CreateProgram base (CL_INVALID_BINARY)

1.5 worked fine. Any Ideas?

Try with -c 1
adding -c 1 had no effect.  disabling on board graphics adapter resolved the issue.
thanks for your help

How can you setup the voltage, gpu and mem of the vga in linux? Any software like wattool?

It depends on what GPU you have and which driver you're using, so you haven't provided enough info. If you are running RX GPUs, the answer is no, because the amdgpu-pro driver does not currently allow voltage/clock control. At some point down the road, AMD is supposedly going to release Wattman for linux. For non-RX GPUs using the older fglrx driver, you can adjust core/mem clocks, but not voltage, although exactly what you can do depends on the GPU. Fury series GPUs, for instance, cannot overclock memory on the stock bios.

1.6 looks pretty good.  Getting 345sols from a 290x clocked at 985/1375.

Fail to plan, and you plan to fail.

^^ The 16 GB virtual memory setting only applies to Windows. Linux does not need any such setting.

I have switched to Linux ( ubuntu 16.04.1) but have been experiencing my screen not being recognized between switching rigs ( plug in hdmi in one rig and plugging back into same gpu I started with on another rig ) also on startup I have seen my screen not be recognized.
Here's what I did:
install ubuntu
Reboot
Sudo apt update
Sudo apt dist-upgrade
Reboot
Sudo install new amd 16.50
Reboot
Run miner, see gains  Cool
Move to next rig repeat
Came back to the first rig and screen isn't recognized.
Missing anything?

I know i'm not answering exactly what you expect, but how does that matter ?
Can't you use ssh to admin your rigs ?
Or the issue isn't about administration but rather about the miner not working because the screen is not recognized ?
=> My setup is 100% headless, no fake hdmi or anything and it works like a charm.

Agreed - headless is the way to go. There's an issue with the way xorg works in the new versions of Ubuntu. I have found that installing 3 packages makes it work well.

This is what I do:
install xorg xserver-xorg-legacy xserver-xorg-video-dummy

Edit the config file for xorg-legacy:
/etc/X11/Xwrapper.config

delete the last line:
allowed_users=console

insert at end of file:
allowed_users=anybody
needs_root_rights=yes

then set up the xserver-xorg-video-dummy

There's a bit more to getting the headless fully working in a screen, but this gives you a start. I don't want to keep flogging my build guide, you can probably find a link in a previous post if you want. It took me a while to figure it out, but once you get full headless going it's wonderful.

I tend to get slightly less performance out of the GPU that my monitor is hooked to, although it is a XFX R9 380x vs the rest of the cards in the system are just ASUS R9 380 Strix.  If I were to switch it to headless would I gain a little extra performance off of that GPU?    I'm not positive the less performance is due to the monitor being hooked to it or if the 380x has less performance but I would think if anything it should be more than the 380.

I agree headless would be the best option, and I will get there. Along with getting miner to start on startup... Miner ran for 4 hours and crashed on 2 rigs overnight  Sad  But performance for my 480s is at 300 s/S. So it looks like Linux is the best option for now, and figure in stability.

I'm also making sure I haven't missed anything, like increasing my page file to at least 16 gb like I would do on Windows.   Undecided or use redhat?

Just upgraded my linux boxes to 1.6.0. Looks like a solid and reliable build so far. Getting an increase across the board. At -i 7 cards are doing:
RX470 8G - 288
Rx480 8G -301
Fury X - 452
Fury Pro - 470
R9 390 - 365

How long have you been using your -i 7 ? mostly out of curiosity, i'm wondering whether that's just as stable as -i 6 on stock cards.
But more importantly, have you also compared your Watt/Sol ratio between -i 6 and -i7 ?

I've been using -i 7 for about a week now.

Good question on Watt/Sol ratio. I had not thought of that! I have wattmeters and will be at the warehouse tomorrow so I will run a test.

Hey blackops! Just chatted with you on the other forum. I've looked at power vs intensity, and at least at the "auto" intensity and higher, there is virtually no difference in power consumption, at least on my Nanos. I see a small rate gain with higher intensity, but I favor stability over a couple sols/s. With 120+ GPUs, it doesn't take very many GPUs hanging to wipe out any hash rate gain, for me anyway.

Yes, that's a lot of GPU's, I see why you are set up for stability.

-i 7 is pretty stable so far, but you're right on the downside of a card hanging, especially if it is at night.  It's fun to chase a few extra solutions per sec, but I'm in it for making money, not for bragging rights.

I just counted, I'm only at 60 GPU's....it might be time to go shopping! But, I want to wait just a little longer until the Vega cards come out - either they will be much better, or the Nano's will come down in price.

Humble minds think alike! Smiley Been thinking along the same lines. However, from what I've seen from the AMD tease at CES, HBM2 does *not* have higher memory bandwidth - they doubled the memory clock, but cut the bus width in half. That means the global memory reads done in Equihash will probably not improve *at all*, although the higher mem clock should help the slot writes (relatively small writes) a good bit, but there are much fewer of those. Anyway, only a real mining run with them will tell.

So, I checked the difference between "-i 6" and "-i 7" on my rx 470 (xfx true oc). TL;DR : nothing changed (sols/s, watt, ..). So I reverted back to the default "-i 6".
This might have a better outcome with different GPUs but I guess optiminer did a pretty good choice at picking the intensity parameters.
