IMHO, there shouldn't be any bets for Oscars. Not too many sites host such bets anyway. The reason being, the winners are already told before they're invited to the actual day of the event. If not the winner but the Production company or the theatre team know they're winning before the day of the actual event. You can search for the theories around the same on google. If the bet results are known beforehand, imagine the losses that can be introduced on the bets placed. Having said that, "Joker" and "Once upon a time in Hollywood" is taking most of those awards.
Im intruiged thats why i do a little bit search and i found this one which is worth to read: https://www.businessinsider.com/oscars-academy-awards-rigged-best-picture-nominations-win-2019-2

So dramas would most likely to win?
Well I don't really know. If you look at the bigger picture, it's not hard to bribe one of the members of their deciding team and get that award. Hollywood stars have that much money anyway. In a capitalist society, you never know the possibilities of beating the competition by power for fame. But that's just my opinion if you want to have fun and games, you can place a bet. Smiley

I have been considering betting on Oscar for quiet a while now, and I’ll soon decide how much funds I can spare and bet on this. The following are my predictions:

1) In the best picture category I would select Joker because I loved that film, and I truly believe that it deserves to win.
I've watched the Joker and I have nothing to say about the movie coz it was great. I just want to comment on how it reflected to me, it seems like Joker shows that life has no ultimate meaning and it rejects the good principles in short it was about negativity. I don't know how would the judges choose among great movies, I don't know their criteria some might and might not agree on me. Many claim that this is the movie of the year but have they watched the rest of nominees? like Parasite from Korea I guess they didn't.

2) For the Best Actor Award I’ll choose Joaquin Phoenix, and I believe many of you’ll will feel the same way too ain’t i right?
I think you only watched a single movie among the nominees, Indeed Joaquin Phoenix did a spectacular acting on that movie to the point that he owns the whole movie but frankly speaking Leonardo DiCaprio deserves the best actor award for the second time. Betting on this kind of choices is pretty hard though, I'd rather not to give it a call.

Once upon a Time was the favorite to win the best picture award but I will be rooting for the joker to coup up into this category. Though I am not betting into this kind of gambling, I am still going to follow the result of the event.

I have watched those two movies already and several other films included in Oscars, however, I'm not into betting in this kind of gambling as we don't know how the judges really pick for each category. They have their own criteria and most of us have no idea how the mind of film people works. But yes, I am interested also in knowing the winners but this event is really not much of a big deal for me.

Is betting on the heavy favorites profitable or not?
Usually the betting favorites usually win the Oscars as the winner is selected by juries and you will have inside information about their decisions and i am sure people will be betting big when the Oscar night is approaching and if you bet on the favorites then most probably you will be winning the bet.

My bets are:
Best Actor :Joaquin Phoenix
Best Supporting Actor:Brad Pitt
Best Actress:Renee Zellweger
Best Supporting Actress:Laura Dern

The rest i will pick later.

i am pretty sure that Joker and Irishman will gather most of the categories ,both seriousness and the Good delivery of acts and they are so good.the music effects are simple but very pleasing and emotional.

So far i didn't watching yet all of the movies for the best picture so i can't compare which movies deserve as the best movie on 2020 but i think Joker have high chance to won it and obviously Joaquin Phoenix too as the best actor on 2020
i first watched Joaquin Phoenix in a Movie of Russel Crow and that is "the Gladiator" in which i saw him as a great and functional actor so the very way he could get the Best actor is really indeed.

There is currently a lot of speculation that something made by women will win a shock and this was due to the fact that very few women directors or even stories win oscars. Sort of like before when black actors were very few,,, so who knows, Little Women makes a surprise win when people change their votes!

The Irishman 17.000 (+1600)

I have only seen Joker from the list of the movies here and I think it has good chances to win the Oscar this year.I will probably see 1917 movie now that I have read here it is a great movie and maybe is even better than Joker.
These kind of bets rarely are manipulated by the bookies so it is a good opportunity to bet for those who watch every movie that comes out.

I just try to make a parlay with the Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor and it wasn't possible, This event could be easy money if the casino allows making parlays on them. Looks like that kind of event are just to make single bets.

Anyway, The joker as the best actor is a 100% sure win bet.

I cannot bet on something like this.

I have not watched most of the movies that are nominated so I cannot even come up with a rough idea on which one will win what.

My only sources on Oscars and the potential winners are news feeds and comments which may likely be subjective.

Based on my observation in the past, usually the heavy favorites does not won, just like the Miss Universe, heavy favorites does not won all the time.
I am not watching all these movies as well, first because I don't have time but I like to gamble,.

I'm not the kind of person to watch the entire Oscar Awards, but it's interesting to see. I watch it with the highlights only. Anyways, it's going to be hard to predict because it would also depend on the person accepting the award or not. An addition about Oscar Awards, I do believe that it's nothing but a title but no actual contribution to anything. Maybe for the actor's salary but nothing more. There is no diversity and no equal opportunities for others. Their criteria for judging are quite different compared to the actual results that can be obtained from the Box Office results. I'm not an expert, but it still seems to be the case.

With all that I said above, it's a rant that I want to share, maybe some of you also noticed it. Let's make money on it by gambling, lol.  Below would be my picks:

Best Picture: 1917
Best Director: Bong Joon Ho (Parasite)
Best Actor: Joaquin Phoenix (Joker)
Best Supporting Actor: Brad Pitt (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood)
Best Actress: Renee Zellweger (Judy)
Best Supporting Actress: Laura Dern (Marriage Story)

P.S. These are guesses with little analysis, it's not recommended to follow my picks.

I am a fan of movies but I am not a fan of betting on the 6 cafeterias you've shared.

Anyone here who are good at this please tell us which bet is good and why?

Is betting on the heavy favorites profitable or not?

Hello gambling couch potatoes hehehe. The award ceremony will be on February 9, 2020 and all
the odds were only copied from nitrogensports.eu.

In any case, I speculate that 1917 might win best picture, best screenplay, best cinematography, sound editing and others if the sportsbooks offer some of them. Nitrogensports has only offered the most basic categories.

Best Picture

Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood 2.370 (+137)
1917 3.400 (+240)
Parasite 4.330 (+333)
Joker 8.000 (+700)
The Irishman 17.000 (+1600)
Marriage Story 34.000 (+3300)
Jojo Rabbit 41.000 (+4000)
Ford v Ferrari 101.000 (+10000)
Little Women 101.000 (+10000)

Best Actor

Joaquin Phoenix (Joker) 1.083 (-1205)
Adam Driver (Marriage Story) 7.000 (+600)
Antonio Banderas (Pain and Glory) 21.000 (+2000)
Jonathan Pryce (The Two Popes) 21.000 (+2000)
Leonardo DiCaprio (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) 21.000 (+2000)

I wouldn't bet my precious money on this Oscar, why? I liked 4 of the movies that are on that oscar but I have no idea how they are selected to be on oscar and how the winner is selected. There are movies that in my opinion are very bad and that's why I do not watch them, but they already won Oscar. Without wishing to exaggerate many movies that have already won Oscar are the kind of movies that I do not like and do not watch. Bet on the movie that will win the Oscar, is the same as betting on the lottery

101% to this one that's why I don't bother myself on shooting up some bucks into these betting.I do also have the questions in mind on what truly is their criteria on selection process.Funny to say but I didn't able to hit up some bets on Oscars that's why im` not really that interested to bet but of course i do have multiple favorites like 1917 same as OP, Once upon a time ..in Hollywood and Joker and the rest are mehh..
