Don't use any of the scripts that were pointed to download from dropbox as it will leave your S1 without an asic-freq file.  Dropbox will re-direct the S1 during download to https which the S1 wget does not support.

There is no more "easy way" method of copy and paste.  I can probably create another one, using another site that supports http or ftp; but it's not worth the effort (imho) as 90% of the S1's are already overclocked, and there's the good ol' fashioned way which is to edit via   vi editor.

I'm planning to turn off my S1's in the next 2 months.  I think many people are in the same situation.

Please see this thread for overclocking to different frequencies:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.6460009

Just pencil mod and underclock your S1's and you will get a bit more life out of them. I was getting 120 Gh/s @ 140 Watts and I was able to mod each S1 and tune the freq in under 5 minutes each (after the first one).

I can manually change an S1 freq under 60 seconds  Grin

this is true   my 3 at 420gh total and 560 watts total   will out earn my power cost until Jan of 2014

( I have about 800 watts available for about 3 cents a kwatt)

but even at 15 cents a kwatt these s-1s will out earn  power until sept.

23% diff jump 15 cents a k-watt 600 a coin

used:

clear
cd /etc/config
mv asic-freq asic-freq.before-393MHz
wget -O asic-freq http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/bwbk1wdy0yx1l46/asic-freq.393.75MHz
chmod 664 asic-freq*
read -rsp $'Press enter to continue (Antminer will reboot)... ASICs speed set to 393MHz \n'
reboot

to overclock latest S1 and did pull from dropbox no prob and was able to update well took it anyway. S1 rebooted but now won't take any shares just powered up without blades running.... Yes I can put back at 350 mhz and it works.... so, why does the overclock not work on this S1? If you say check manufacturing date.... where do I find that info?

update on my s1 issues: Was the PSU that popped and after replacing with something substantial (thermaltek 80+ Gold 750w) no more issues and she's running just fine @ 199.09 GH/s average. Strangely enough of the 3 I have running I'm able to run the the oldest @ 400MHZ with .1% error and when I try to run the newer 2 over 393. MHZ they has 20x the errors. mhmm. I was about the overclock my newest to 393 but guess I'm reading about some dropbox errors... I shall see... always the good ol manual way...

Im getting this error:

wget: not an http or ftp url: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/bwbk1wdy0yx1l46/asic-freq.393.75MHz

Is there a way to fix it?

Thnks

It looks like dropbox has stopped hosting non-secured http download.  I have to take out the instructions in the OP.  I may have to delete this thread.  I'm also going to take out the YouTube video.

If I find another site that will host http download I may re-upload the files.  To be honest with you; it's probably not worth the effort as by now most people already have OC'ed or about to turn off their S1's due to the diff being too high.

The last post from a bjornsitte leaves a "bad taste", also.  He blamed the OC script for burning out his PSU, never returned to let us know the script didn't damage his equipment.  The Thermalek 600 is not capable of providing adequate power as it's multi-rail 12V.  Just had to vent....

I do plan on Pencil-Modding but what does this mean...

I don't think it's possible to break anything with this mod, but in case you break something, I'm not responsible

Freq (275 MHz):

edit /etc/config/asic-freq
Quote

        option 'freq_value'    '0A81'  #275M
        option 'chip_freq'     '275'
        option 'timeout'       '45'

Will I need to change the freq to 275 AFTER applying the graphite? Or do the Ants freq change automatically after the graphite is applied?

I'm sorry, mate.  I'm gonna have to say no to uploading any other frequencies.  This is a thread for overclocking and people who go to this thread are going to get settings for underclocking.  In addition; and this is the most important thing:  I use the OC values on the OP.  I've used the 400MHz for a while as well, and even 375MHz.  These values for underclocking; I've never used.  It's the reason I cannot answer your questions.  I simply don't know the answers wrt to underclocking.

Please visit dogie's thread and good luck with the underclocking.

Cool and thanks.

Think you could post up the 300 and 325 frequency configs?
It's about that time to do some underclocking.

Thanks mate

Is there any way I can persuade you to not do it without using this guide from dogie   https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/guide-undervolt-antminer-s1-119wgh-at-the-wall-526060    first?

I already sent the code to jelin1984, but I don't think it worked as I saw him post on dogie's thread.

Code:
clear
cd /etc/config
mv asic-freq asic-freq.beforeUC
wget -O asic-freq http://goo.gl/5xfbLd
wget -O asic-freq.325MHz http://goo.gl/dPDeUj
chmod 664 asic-freq*
reboot
[/quote]

Whoops, I meant to ask for 275 frequency and not 325/300, apologies as I had a killer migraine last night and everything was super difficult, heh

Any code for underclocked to have 1wattvper gh from s1

I have to upload the asic-freq with the lower frequency value.
Which frequency do you want to try?  Below are the list:

Code:
        option 'freq_value'    '4f81'  #400MHz
        option 'chip_freq'     '400'
        option 'timeout'       '35'

        #option 'freq_value'     '4d81'  #350MHz <-- factory default
        #option 'chip_freq'      '350'
        #option 'timeout'        '40'

        #option 'freq_value'    '4c81'  #325MHz
        #option 'chip_freq'     '325'
        #option 'timeout'       '40'
