Very good list of links, it takes good effort to put up a list like that. Congratulations!

Only skimmed it, I removed it. I barely read the alt section, if you know any good threads let me know.

Perhaps this could serve?

Added it, just from skimming it it looks way better than the other one and it is not so limited to certain coins. Will have to read it entirely when I have more time.

Very nice attempt of linking all the required things under one roof.
Must be given enough reputation and contribution for this thread that will help the bitcoin community and bitcoin ecosystem to evolve more.

I couldn't find this link in the OP although I could have missed it. It's a list of members listed by joining date. People researching Bitcoin's history could find it interesting. Sirius and Theymos show up on the first page together with a load of newbie accounts made by people who probably now wish they had stuck with Bitcoin instead of losing interest.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=mlist;sort=registered;start=0

Thanks, but its not actually a thread and its probably covered by one of the threads linked.

  • Shitcoins - a list of altcoins not worth your time.

Silly thread that does not deserve this level
of dignification.
Have you read it?

Not sure if this would fit with your list, but maybe links to the whitepaper (https://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf) and the original post on the cypherpunks mailing list where satoshi announced bitcoin (https://www.mail-archive.com/cryptography%40metzdowd.com/msg09959.html)

The plan was to link only within the board, but I will think about adding a section for external links. Maybe if I dont hide them behind text to make it obvious. There is good material off side.

If you do plan on trying it, I have an entirely separate list of links I can put here but the one that I would most recommend is tracking the value of IPO investments in Bitcoin as its not going to be much longer till Bitcoin will have 1 Billion in Seed funding historically and people will need a way to find out what services are available in Bitcoin or will be available in Bitcoin in a nice organized matter after the initial Hype fades away Smiley.

There is also a Chinese Version of this so if off board links are considered the language issue may come up under consideration criteria as well.

Thanks for the links, but I dont think I will do this. Some sites like bitcoin.org might never change, but others are less reliable. External links require regular maintenance and might be a security problem (e.g. hijacked sites)

I wonder why anyone never thought of it before!
Really helpful
Thanks Shorena...

great list! this is very helpful for new bitcoin user.

thanks

I think this could be useful as well and to make others well aware of the similar scenarios : List of Major Bitcoin Heists, Thefts, Hacks, Scams and Losses
Link: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.6289796

already on it, thanks though.

Yes, they are supposed to be regular things. The IRC meetings happen every Thursday and G1lius posts the "in layman's terms" summary every monday to Reddit and the mailing list as well as here. Maybe all of those should have their own consolidation thread which you can link to.

Thanks for the info. It would certainly make things easier for me, but adding a 3rd set of lists is possible so I will just do that for now.

OP i've found this very interesting thread:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1235171.new#new

This guy is making a TL;DR version of the developer IRC logs. I always like to read them but sometimes I don't have enough time or I just don't understand what are they talking about. I think being able to read what the developers are talking to each other is great and yet another thing you would never be able to get on a non-open source project (specially of this magnitude)

They are interesting, but it seems they are a regular thing.

2015.10.22 -> https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitcoin-dev-irc-meeting-in-laymans-terms-2015-10-22-1222156
2015.10.29 -> https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitcoin-dev-irc-meeting-in-laymans-terms-2015-10-29-1235171

I added both for now, I might have to think about a different format if they are a constistant thing.
