I guess they still see bitcoin as more of a competitor than CreditCards and Bank accounts which are the typical ways to deposit into PayPal, These don't really play in PayPal market and they need them but bitcoin would majorly impact PayPal if it goes mainstream.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if Paypal acquired a company that took Bitcoin payments at some point in the future.
It is already happening. PayPal added Bitcoin startup Xapo CEO Wences Casares to board of directors he might be working on some new level of partnership between Xapo and PayPal.
Direct Bitcoin acceptance is doubtful it will be rather done by acquiring bitcoin companies, startups and projects and integration of their services into PayPal portfolio.

Wow! This is a very good news Cheesy
It will be more convenient for us to transfer our bitcoin or do online shopping because not all online shopping sites accept bitcoin. I'm looking forward to it!
yeah it would be really cool if paypal started accepting bitcoins to be honest, because it would make us some good money

PayPal and Bitcoin are starting to become 'friends' since the Xapo CEO has been hired by them. Maybe we'll see some collaboration, but we have to know and pay attention to one thing: as soon as PayPal or any credit card or bank gets in business with Bitcoin, the Bitcoin's privacy will be over for many of us. I prefer sitting in front of my computer and having a totally anonymous wallet instead of the partnership with PayPal, which also is in partnership with MasterCard etc..

I agree. On the bright side, when PayPal integrates Bitcoin, we will see more places where we can pay with our Bitcoin. On the dark side, when this happens, we can be sure that PayPal has a system to monitor Bitcoin transactions and trace them back to people. This system would take one of Bitcoin's good points, which is privacy. I think if PayPal integrates Bitcoin, that's good for us, but we've to be cautious with this system.

paypal is only looking for making more money from this partnership and nothing else.
but i think it is going to be a good thing for everyone both bitcoin users and those who don't use bitcoin because it will open up a way for an easy access to buying and selling bitcoin for fiat.

Agree Cheesy It would be nice partnership and it will open up the way to easy access to buy bitcoin or exchange your bitcoin from your wallet to your paypal and it could make the community big because paypal is famous then something paypal telling you to try or use bitcoin also Cheesy

well that's actually only for a bitcoin wallet, but not for bitcoin's address, the transaction history can be traced by using blockchain explorer, and once the owner of the address have been known then it'll also reveal the owner's activity,so it's better to make no one know what's your address to be honest

I think it's just because bitcoin is more of a competitor, it's true that PayPal accept bank accounts and creditcards as deposit methods but that's just because they have to as well as them being in a different market "more physical", Bitcoin would be competition for PayPal and even if they make a BTC wallet they wouldn't be able to charge high fees like they do now..

I heard that coinbase will partner in paypal but still now paypal still not consider bitcoin as mode of payment..
I think they are not accepting bitcoin because of many illegal activity in bitcoin also many people are using paypal for scam people before and they have no reverse payment in bitcoin unlike paypal.

Its definitely a good sign that more and more companies are accepting Bitcoin,
but I still think that for now, Paypal would rather have a partner accept the coins, and transfer money through paypal to that company.
That way they can do business with people using Bitcoin but not be directly involved.

As i remember paypal has hired the ceo of xapo, soo they are doing something hidden, as i remember paypal were always the place where the ligits projects were paying with it, hyip, cycler or any similiar projects arent able to use paypal. Their reputation has been build that way, atleast i do joined a project if they had paypal as option otherwise it would turn into another scam, paypal its regulated at almost all countries, bitcoin is being used by several people around the world, but paypal isnt ready for bitcoin yet.

If paypal accepting bitcoin, it will be a good news for both paypal and bitcoins. The price of bitcoin will increase for sure and many people will start using bitcoins.

it will not happen as paypal is seeing bitcoin as a more than dangerous rival. if ebay, the mother conpany of paypal lists bitcoin at their market platform as a payment option, then it will surely gain ground at the cost of paypal. they will not allow this to happen.
nope few days ago the owner of paypal actually interested in bitcoin, and you know Coinbase and paypal cooperation together, and I think indirectly linked bitcoin and paypal cooperation. so I think the competitors could work together for the better and this will certainly provide benefits to both parties

I dont like PayPal the transaction is very slow so don't be business partner with the bitcoin.
Bitcoin is better . PayPal is down

PayPal transactions are instant, so I don't know how you come up with PayPal transactions being slow. That's not right, so please don't spread false information.

May I know the reason why does Paypal do not accept bitcoin as payment and/or deposit?! I know that Bitcoin is known widely on the internet so Paypal should accept it as a mode of payment since their forte is through the internet. I hope that someday, PayPal will acknowledge Bitcoin and put it as one of the mode of payment in their site. It will be very convenient for us.
in my opinion, paypal and bitcoin are like 2 completely different currencies. paypal wouldnt get involved with bitcoin because it breeds anonymity, and paypal is the complete opposite of that. they want to learn your lifestory before letting you use paypal lol.
