May I know the reason why does Paypal do not accept bitcoin as payment and/or deposit?! I know that Bitcoin is known widely on the internet so Paypal should accept it as a mode of payment since their forte is through the internet. I hope that someday, PayPal will acknowledge Bitcoin and put it as one of the mode of payment in their site. It will be very convenient for us.
PayPal probably doesn't accept Bitcoin because Bitcoin is in too much of a legal gray zone right now, and this means that Paypal accepting it could end up with it being implicated with some criminal activity (accidentally, however money laundering would be possible to an extent), and that could be some Paypal just doesn't want to deal with at all.

Do you remember what happened with Liberty Reserve? Liberty Reserve ( LR ) had to shut down because of the amount of "grey" users and the criminal organizations that abused the payment processor's service. Not only LR's company suffered heavy losses because of that, but many users, too, who used their services for legit purposes.

If paypal accepting bitcoin, it will be a good news for both paypal and bitcoins. The price of bitcoin will increase for sure and many people will start using bitcoins.
Even if paypal allow direct deposit/withdraw to bitcoin worldwide there may not be much effect on price instantly however it will be really good news for bitcoin users because the shops which only used to accept paypal payment will also add standalone bitcoin payment system for sure. This may increase the use cases of bitcoin in daily life.

Here:https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/breaking-paypal-merchants-can-now-accept-bitcoin/
"In September 2014, PayPal announced it would accept Bitcoin via integration with Braintree... Via the PayPal Payment’s Hub merchants could use customizable APIs to integrate Bitcoin into their shops for digital goods. At the time, it released a video hinting at Bitcoin integration."
I didn't really use PayPal much in my life, so I can't really tell, but are you saying they didn't do this thing?
Do you really think paypal is receiving bitcoins i dont think so because most of the time it is not bitcoins they are receiving because they are only for the money they receive cashhh

PayPal doesn't accept direct competitors as payment options IMO, it's the same reason you can load you bank account with another bank account or use Skrill with PayPal, Also there is the tricky part about money regulations with something like BTC etc..

it will not happen as paypal is seeing bitcoin as a more than dangerous rival. if ebay, the mother conpany of paypal lists bitcoin at their market platform as a payment option, then it will surely gain ground at the cost of paypal. they will not allow this to happen.

Nope, I have not heard anything that paypal is accepting bitcoin, but at the moment dell is accepting it so I think in near future most of the e-commerce giant players will also accept it. In the coming year, Kim dotcom has announced that he is going to bring next version of mega upload with bitcoin support so we can expect a growth in the user base of bitcoin. If paypal starts supporting bitcoin then it will prove game changing.

I don't know what is the actual reason that PayPal doesn't accept Bitcoin but I hope soon they will. On that way they will atract even more users, so I hope this will change in the future.

The reason is that Bitcoin in potential can wipe out PayPal as a company since Bitcoin makes PayPal obsolete in every shape and form. They know that very well.

I don't think bitcoins can completely wipe out PayPal because as of now bitcoin market is just less than 10 billion market and also you can't send bitcoins to unknown person to buy anything because they can easily cheat you or you need to go through with escrow. But in case of Paypal, you can buy confidently so both got advantages and disadvantage and we need both of them for different purposes.

Agree! Bitcoins cant beat paypal. Paypal now is very famous and lot of users of it. Unlike bitcoins it just new in these something that if you have a trouble of it devs from it cant support you unlike paypal they are so accomodating.
which trouble by the way? bitcoin was made to become currency and NOT a service so bitcoin don't need support or anything else, just like when  you use an ordinary currency like dollar or yuan, when you just lose it somewhere does there's also support that you can call to get help? i guess no
you're comparing currency with a service which is definitely not right

Correct, paypal and  bitcoin cant be  compared since bitcoin is a currency and  paypal is  service even though  paypal  would accept bitcoin on their service theres  no problem at all.. the main thing  that  bothers me about  using paypal  is their   high fees on each transaction , so  its  better to  use  pure bitcoin service than on paypal.

But i read some comments that Paypal is studying the possibility of using bitcoin because it becomes more and more popular worldwide as the time goes by. I really hope that they will include it in their system in the near future.

i think because they are adoption method is different, bitcoin is more focus on decentralized and anonymity, while paypal more focused on transparency and identity, so if anything bad happens like money laundry of user scammed other user, paypal can track and help to solve so paypal reputation wont ruin, so basically paypal more focused on their reputation while bitcoin more focused on freedom

Bitcoin have a lot of restrictions and limits and terms, and having very strict security system, so i think that's why It don't accept Bitcoin as its anonymous and decentralized currency

In my view, PayPal doesn't receive bitcoin because bitcoin is an anonim currency that's complicated to trace back to a valid person and the transactions are impossible to reverse. You see the many deal disputes on PayPal? Using bitcoin'd make them even more difficult to resolve.

paypal doesn't accept bitcoin for sure, they have stated this clearly that they will not support bitcoin related transaction. However i have heard recent partnership of paypal with coinbase to provide US citizens to load their paypal account exchanging bitcoin, don't have any oppurtunity to try this.
Paypal is listed as Instant sell method in coinbase webpage here https://www.coinbase.com/places/united-states

Because bitcoin is irrelevant as mean of payment online, it just doesn't make sense for a business like Paypal to allocate resources to integrate such a small payment method.
