Altcoins will survive but not all. Crypto currencies market is overwhelmed with trash altcoins, that have only a whitepaper and 5k telegram community. We need more serious projects, that will bring a working product within several months.
Altcoins are not all promising. Why are some created - I do not understand at all. All people focus their attention on top coins. Therefore, the rest are simply not noticed.
Maybe people are right. It seems to me that weak coins will die. That is why I stopped investing in little-known projects, because it is very dangerous now.
I know that there are a lot of projects that are popping up, whether they have real value or not, you could see if the developers are doing well or are really dedicated to it. It's not that it's dangerous, you would really risk a lot in order to get a great project to invest in. You will never know, you might be getting a significant profit from that project. It is a debatable topic. Well, am not agree with your statement.
There are many alt coins available in the market which are competing BTC such as ETH and EOS. These two coins have strong hold in crypto market. Both coins are beneficial for long term holding . Acoording to me alt coins will survive in future.
They are already on top and has a high volume. I think what they are talking about are the altcoins that are just the same, in general, not solving anything for the problems that we encounter in different cryptocurrencies. In fact, altcoins are much more than can be seen at coinmarketcap, since many tokens are presented only on etherdelta.com and are not traded anywhere else. Exactly such altcoins will be the first to disappear.

how they say that, I think Altcoin is really needed in crypto, many people join crypto thanks to Altcoin, so I don't think Altcoin will disappear unless crypto disappears. And until now I only hold altcoins without having Bitcoin.

Most altcon are garbage and can not be used in anything, but there are very powerful altcoins like ETH, XLM, XRP .... So I think Altcoin still exists but the volume will not be as much as now.
Many community members have been claiming lately that altcoins are going to die or at least that 90% of altcoins are doomed. I tend to agree with them that there are many coins and tokens that are pointless and won't survive. Another cathegory are alts with solid foundations but won't manage to fight with their competitors as naturally there are numerous projects with same visions. But if you trust the project you invested in, there is no reason to change your mind just because someone says many altcoins won't succeed. Do your research and trust only your own judgement, because many ALTCOINS ARE HERE TO STAY!
Altcoin will not die because there are still many people who believe in cryptocurrency it will only happen if the people will not continue to invest and believe on it. But for now the price of the crypto is dumped because the investors are not increasing we have to double our effort to let other people believe in crypto so that they will also invest on it.
The best way to understand and move on with crypto is when you stop listening to what people do say, instead you have to trust your own instincts and believe in Blockchain Technology. There are Hundreds of Thousands of Altcoins in the crypto market and i believe more than 45% of them will survive
Yes, indeed, cryptocurrency does not bring as much profit as in 2018. But there are coins that are quite reliable and stable.
People used to say that Bitcoin will not survive, and what do we see now? The same will be with altcoins, strong projects have always been and will be in demand, which means that the prices of their product and coins will grow regardless of what is going on with the market.
that's right, there's no need hearing what people say just ignore the negative words of people about cryptocurrency or altcoins because all that is just a bullshit, whatever they say is just a prediction that isn't necessarily reality so be sure of your choice and I'm sure that altcoins will survive. because it is indeed a great many types of altcoin are there. and I am sure not all altcoin will succeed. because the competition is also very strict. and this is a job for us to choose the altcoin is indeed appropriate.
A bearish trend will help weed out the really worthwhile coins and remove useless coins from the market that have no prospects, no benefit, and no strong team. Such tests test the strength of the team of all coins. For us, this is a good opportunity to look at the actions of teams aimed at the preservation and development of their coins during the fall of the market. But I am sure that quite a lot of altcoins are already dead even being on the exchange and having small volumes of trades, because they have no future. 
There are so many ICOs, which means the number of Altcoins growing continously. Sure, there won't be 10.000s of Altcoins with high value in the future, or at least for me it seems too much. But in every fields, there can be more, so competition does not mean, only one can survive IMO.
it is not like that the coins which can solve the today's biggest problem those kind of coins will survive for sure
altcoins will survive! even real shitcoins will survive if the whole market pumps, but will it happen? when finally? maybe never or in a couple of years, or may be tomorrow who knows... i'm already tired of all this shit.

Only those altcoins will survive which have a real product, not empty promises, as well as those which have great support from the community.
Most coins that are utilities on their platforms have good prospects for future existence. Coins without a finished product, without an idea and useful function are more likely to die in the future. Such coins as EOS, NEO, TRX are unlikely to die, at least it is unlikely, therefore I prefer to rely on such coins.
I agree that the cryptocurrency market is a competition ! And Yes, I also think that some crypto currencies will not survive ! Only the best of the best will remain !
