Im using 5 x Nvidia P104-100 4GB, havent used these rigs for well over 2 years.
Now I installed PhoenixMiner 5.4c and when I run the "start_miner" file, it quickly close the cmd window (I managed to printscreen) before they close each time I run. Any idea what seems to be the problem and solution would be very much appreciated.

Was fine today running my 2 Radeon VII cards on Phoenix Miner 5.4c AMD driver 20.4.2
turned off miners to do some clean up, but didnt shut off windows
tried to restart miners and getting  clSetKernelArg (-48) error

eventually found Windows was sneaky and updated the radeon drivers
rolled back driver and good to go again.

Worth a try for Windows 10 plebs
You can try and use local group policy to prevent windows from updating drivers via windows updates
If you are using windows home for some reason you will need to find a guide on installing group policy editor on windows home.
open Gpedit.msc
expand Computer configuration > Administrative templates > Windows Components > Windows update
There should be a setting that says "Do not include drivers with Windows Updates"
Enabled that.
Or just Enable "Remove access to use all Windows Update Features" all together.

Hi all, my mining rig is back to life after 2 years...

Hardware:
ASRock H110 Pro BTC+ (Bios 1.60)
2 x Corsair HX1000
6 x Radeon RX 580 8GB (modded Bios)
6 x Radeon RX 470 4GB (modded Bios)

Software:
Windows 10 20H2 19042.685 (the latest)
AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.12.1
PhoenixMiner 5.4c
ATIkmdag-patcher 1.4.9

Settings:
64GB Allocated Memory in Windows 10 (PheonixMiner asks to allocate minimum 42GB+ for 12 cards, I allocated 64GB).
All cards RX 470 & RX 580 are modded (bios) + atikmdag-patcher for drivers.
AMD Radeon software -> every card has been switched from 'Graphics' to "Compute" mode.

I am running 12 cards at the moment and everything is stable but I have VERY LOW hashrate on all RX 470 4GB between 6-9MH/s.
I restored original bioses on all RX 470's and run miner without RX 580's - hashrate was 8MH/s on all cards.

Is it time for selling RX 470 4GB cards, or am I doing something wrong??

It is time to retire 4GB cards. ETH DAG size is already 4.023GB so there is no room in the GPU mem for the DAG to be loaded. There were some ways to limp on for a few more days but I think they have passed now. Time to put them out to pasture.. or better yet try and sell them..

The non stop problems the last few months and versions have been ridiculous. Have the same issues clSetkernelArg (-48) on many Polaris rigs.

i don't have problem

AMD driver: 20.4.2-2
Miner: PH 5.1c

because it is windows update problem, Microsoft force update of AMD graphics drivers. The speedest solution is roll back driver in device manager and pause windows update until the new phoenix miner version will be released

for disable/hidden update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3183922/how-to-temporarily-prevent-a-windows-update-from-reinstalling-in-windo

Better option replace windows with linix and never have this problem again.
Yes i agree, i hate win10. need alot time to disable many things and admin rights. Linux can be difficult for newbie for 1st time.

Try to add -gser 2

SAME BRO, same problem

you need to find the optimal value for the -gser command for your gpus.
Example:
PhoenixMiner.exe -pool eth-eu2.nanopool.org:9999 -wal wallet.rig -gser 2

or

Perhaps your drivers have been automatically updated. You need to roll back the drivers to the version on which the program works stably.

In config.txt add:

-rvram -1

And add more virtual memory in windows 16 to 32Go, Me for 6 * RX580 i have 65635Mo virtual memory for no problem

Hi all,
I'm extremely new to mining and decided to start using my rtx 3080 during downtime to mine some Ethereum. I started with phoenixminer and had everything running great for the past 4 days. I decided to update my Nvidia drivers since they stated their were critical security flaws in the current. After updating phoenix miner no longer works. I click on start_miner and it just says "access is denied". Im using sparkpool for my pool and mycrypto for wallet. I have tried everything from changing pools completely to changing to a secondary wallet address and even rolling back my drivers. Nothing is working. Does anyone have some insight or help for this? Its very discouraging just getting into this to have no idea how to fix it?
Thanks

Did you already try right clicking Phonerminer.exe and select "run as administrator"?

I have a rig with 6 x RX580s.  I want to add in 2 x RX5700xt.
I can run the new 5700s on their own and they are stable.  But when I try to run them at the same time, I cannot get Phoenix to run properly.

As an example, here is how I try do the cards.  1 & 5 are the 5700's
-cclock 1260,1150,1150,1150,1260,1150,1150 -mclock 915,2250,2250,2250,915,2250,2250 -cvddc 720,870,870,870,720,870,870 -mvddc 780,850,850,850,780,850,850

Is there a better way?  Or what is the right way to do this?

Got the same problem today.
On 3 miners.
2 miners with Rx580's and a 3rd one with Vegas.
All of them showing the same not enough vram and gpu1 error.
I updated to the latest edition of phoenix but its still the same..
Could this be a drivers or windows update issue?

I had the same issue on my RX580 8GB (clSetKernelArg (-48)). I reinstalled AMD driver software (Adrenalin version 20.8.1) with factory reset option enabled and the issue is gone. I also turned off automatic updates from the Adrenalin settings since I suspect it had auto-updated something. So to fix the issue I suggest you reinstall your drivers to some old version that you know has worked fine before.

@PhoenixMiner Could you take a look at what is causing the clSetKernelArg (-48) issue with the auto-updated AMD driver? It seems to repro at least with RX580 8GB cards.

I have that problem, virtual memory in 40.000.

Try to add -gser 2

SAME BRO, same problem

you need to find the optimal value for the -gser command for your gpus.
Example:
PhoenixMiner.exe -pool eth-eu2.nanopool.org:9999 -wal wallet.rig -gser 2

or

Perhaps your drivers have been automatically updated. You need to roll back the drivers to the version on which the program works stably.

In config.txt add:

-rvram -1

And add more virtual memory in windows 16 to 32Go, Me for 6 * RX580 i have 65635Mo virtual memory for no problem

Same but i saw this: GPU4: DAG  22%

try to add this:

PhoenixMiner.exe -pool eth-eu2.nanopool.org:9999 -wal wallet.rx580 -gser 10 -rvram -1

Same problem, delete all and paste what you write and same vram problem, today was working fine, i did not update nothing and stop mining

go back and read few post, I had same problem post #7311 ( https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.56049534 )
Also, windows 20.4 with PM 5.4c and AMD 20.11.2 working nice

+merit if solved Smiley

Got the same problem today.
On 3 miners.
2 miners with Rx580's and a 3rd one with Vegas.
All of them showing the same not enough vram and gpu1 error.
I updated to the latest edition of phoenix but its still the same..
Could this be a drivers or windows update issue?
