Anyone know why I get error 137 when trying to set the cclock and mclock on a 3080 with latest nvidia drivers? OCing works fine in MSI Afterburner but I'm unable to do it with PhoenixMiner.

Hi everyone, I just switched from Claymore to Phoenix and I was surprised at how easy it was to make the switch. One thing I noticed though is that the speed for mining ethereum is a bit lower than Claymore, and my GPU doesn't seem to be utilized to its fullest potential (even though I'm overclocking my GPU). Usually, with Claymore, I would get around 10 mh/s and my GPU was hitting around 70 celsius. Now, as you can see from the image, it's mining around 8.8-9 mh/s and the temperature is below 60 celsius.

Any ideas what I can do to maximize the mining potential? Much appreciated!

From the screenshot it looks like you are running a RX400/500 series GPU. Getting 10MH/s is not right on either miners. You need to turn on Compute mode in order for it to hash at the correct speed. You can turn Compute mode on in the AMD Control Center settings if you have that installed or by adding -acm to your config. You will need to run the .bat file as Admin if you add -acm to your config.

I wrote a program to eliminate this, you can try: Claymorify

It means you cant set -340 and -1000 on the clock.  Try -200 or 0 to see if it goes away then can try other values to see what lower limit it.

Where do I set this up? In the miner.bat file i have these settings, which I've been using for my RX580s:
-cclock 1100 -mclock 2000 -cvddc 900 -mvddc 900

Should I delete these from there? Is it interfering somehow with MSI Afterburner or causing it to crasH? (these settings have been deleted from the .bat file now)

edit: everytime I try to overclock with Afterburner @ 1100mhz the memory, the miner crashes with this error:
Code:
2021.01.05:20:14:47.243: GPU2 CUDA error in CudaProgram.cu:465 : unknown error (999)
2021.01.05:20:14:47.243: GPU2 GPU2 search error: unknown error
2021.01.05:20:14:47.243: wdog Fatal error detected. Restarting.
2021.01.05:20:14:47.307: GPU3 CUDA error in CudaProgram.cu:465 : unknown error (999)
2021.01.05:20:14:47.307: GPU3 GPU3 search error: unknown error

has anyone experienced something alike? should this be nVidia rig only?

Hello guys,

can i use phoenixminer, if I have both AMD and nVidia cards on my rig?

Still waiting for a couple of parts to arrive and I want to use RTX cards, and put some of the old RX580s out of the game until my new parts arrive.

Thanks!

EDIT: it works btw, but i am constantly receiving warnings from the miner, that it's not able to apply the following settings:

2021.01.05:19:21:38.439: hwmc GPU2: Unable to set GPU clock delta to -340 MHz - error -137
2021.01.05:19:21:38.440: hwmc GPU2: Unable to set memory clock delta to -1000 MHz - error -137
2021.01.05:19:21:38.441: hwmc GPU3: Unable to set GPU clock delta to -310 MHz - error -137
2021.01.05:19:21:38.442: hwmc GPU3: Unable to set memory clock delta to -1000 MHz - error -137

What does that exactly mean?

I was using phoenix for years across AMD and NV rigs, LOLminer has proved to be just as fast and much more stable for me, Been using LOLminer for about 2 months now.. Almost 0 crashes overall, same speed. Smiley

Idk why Phoenix miner doesnt work for me. Open CL doesnt work.

I try many AMD drivers older and latest.

What failure you get? Screen please!
Do you uninstall your driver with ddu? and install new clean one?

hi what is the best way to increase performance on 1080 TI's,

are people still downloading ETHlargement pill and similar, or is putting  -straps to 3 or 6 sufficient ?

Would be great if someone can post their stable settings with 1080 TI, do you also use nvmem ?.. Thanks

Use T-Rex miner. More shares on poolside and you don´t need the pill anymore.

Hello everyone!
This is my first post on the forum, i'm sure i will ask silly question but i've already looked in the thread without finding the answer...

I've installed phoenixminer linked to my wallet, and I was wondering what's the best pool to use for mining...i saw different alternatives, which are the criteria to use one or another ?

many thanks

Try use other miner, like T-rex or TMR.
Maybe you have a problem not only with one miner

Hello friends. happy new year!

Is there a way to execute bat file (reboot rig) when hash rate drops? I have an issue with couple of cards crashing and I need to automatically reboot the rig when hashrate lowers, not nesessarily stops mining.

Please help.

please read page 1 or readme.txt in PM folder

Thank you. I don't know how I missed that part. I had rmode 1 set. Thank you again!

eth pill with cclock 50 or 100, memclk +50 or 100 too.  limit power if electricity  is expensive. @210w this gives 47Mh, @150w it is down to 41...
