We need proof, that the Phoenix account here is not hijacked. Imagine someone setting up new accounts with malicious software and the real Phoenix guy is still gone.
This is just a thought I have, no evidence! I dont want to spread FUD, but I will only use new Phoenix versions released here, after I get some proof. Someone mentioned moving a specific amount of the dev funds announcing it here, so we can verify on chain that the real developer is here.

On the other hand one can say, Nicehash is not credible. But since it is such a big entity in this space, if they give out an official warning, it is hard to ignore. So Nicehash should be more careful, if this was just FUD, otherwise the users will ensure it wont be a big entity in the space anymore in the future.

djeZo, we know you are the founder of nicehash, so listen now very carefully because I'm going to write this just once.

I've ignored your threats in the private messages, because I thought you're smart enough to know it would be stupid to piss of a person that you've shared a cell and all the secrets with.
I just know too many secrets about you and NiceHash. Now, I'm not like you, so this is not my threat, just a reminder that you should keep your personal thoughts for yourself before damaging nicehash's reputation even more. There are some good people employed there and they don't deserve a founder like you, to treat them like garbage. I will not endanger them.

You have never been so vocal before and this draws the suspicion that you're the one actually responsible for the yesterday's fuckup. When there is a fuckup, you're always involved. No one else, just you, blaming others. How do I know? Because I've been working side by side with you for 8 months, hardly standing your toxicity.

I have right to think that, from the experience with you, and currently, you didn't provide any legitimate evidence against Phoenix. Now, because all the mining systems are still running the client (because our hash check is matching perfectly), you've started to attack miners and developers and spreading conspiracy theories. You've even went that far to ban a person from Reddit that was defending NiceHash since forever, no matter what kind of fuckup you did. People don't deserve such from you when they ask legitimate questions or when they show concerns.

What did devs do to you to deserve that? Nothing. It's all in your head. Phoenix was not enough for you, next on the list is Trex, because he is also anonymous. Maybe read before you hit enter to post bullshit on reddit. People are watching and are disgusted by your act.

Now, regarding your low level shameful doxxing.
If you'd really believe what you're saying then you'd be afraid of posting such stories, but, because you well know I was in the middle of actually shitty situation by someone else's mistakes (from people like yourself that drown other in shit with them), you are now attacking me and the company because I didn't want to delete my comments. It's fine, I'm not ashamed to go through hard stuff in life, Matjaž. Not my fault. Therefore I will not delete my posts because you're been threatening us and Phoenix whole night, making up claims that they are a virus and that we cooperate closely together and that Phoenix bribed us and that we share same botnet and that Phoenix is paying us to shill him.

You are paranoid! Something is seriously wrong with you!
If you'd provide reasonable answers and apologise for once, I might change my thoughts. Until then, you are the villain in this story, Matjaž.

You're trying to ruin someone's credibility hard since I know you. Not just Phoenix's but also Claymore's years ago.
You're brainwashing all your employees with some imaginary "hidden time bomb". You did it years ago with us and you're still doing this today. Why? What is wrong with you?

Every developer that is known and respected is a problem to you since I remember. You didn't change at all.

Working for NiceHash 8 months is more than enough to throw up just thinking about it, I've seen and heard a lot.

Now something that no one will tell you in real life:
You're toxic and this is why people are leaving you and your company, this is why they don't want to join you and they make up excuses that they got better salary elsewhere ... they are afraid of you! They can't stand you. That's the truth and I'm not trying to hurt your feelings here, you're a big boy, but people are just not attracted to you, but they liked me, because I was reasonable. So you've tried to push your agenda through me as they've trusted me. Shame on you.

You are sick-jealous and paranoid and you should apologize to the community and miners for your yesterday's fuckup. Face the fact.

why would anyone believe anything say - an extortionist of poor innocent women? And after you had this disgusting plan to murder a poor young woman for 2.5 mil EUR? what the fuck man? you come accusing me? jezus, first, you should probably just hang yourself. If I did such disgusting acts I wouldnt  be able to live with myself.

To PhoenixMiner: sorry for hijacking your thread; official apology will be released on our main blog channel.

Hey there, I am new to the forum, just signed up to keep checking on what is happening with the situation here regarding Phoenix.
I work in IT, currently working as an Engineering Manager leading 2 teams 14 people total.

After these posts and these allegations and the style how you basically behave, the topics you discuss showed me that this is not the right place for me to be.
Nicehash would be an amazing product, it is really a good idea and a great concept that many many newcomers would love, but the negativity around it, the allegations and all the hacks, arrests on co-founder and stuff that was released regarding Nicehash just scares the shit out of me.
And publicly insulting each other and talking about murder, hanging, light threats on a forum thread that is technical based just shows how unprofessional Nicehash is. If this person really is a related to Nicehash. I am talking about djeZo.

Software and programming should be about the future and about helping each other, not about publicly disrespecting each other when there are many people here that joined out of fear and wish to get helped.
Try to help people, that are in need and do something useful not destructive.

I download the pass worded zip file from phoenixminer.org "PhoenixMiner_5.5c_Windows_AMD_NVIDIA (Password-phoenix).zip" on 2-6-21.  Anyway to tell if this is legit?

It's a Russian website, everything in there has a huge question mark on it.

Nothing from this website should be considered legit.

We are reserving our judgement for now, hoping that this was honest mistake and overreaction on their part but something certainly seems off. The sheer size of that reddit post seems a bit strange for something spontaneous and written after-the-fact. The whole thing is quite strange, given that we are not their competitors, our 0.65% devfee is quite insignificant compared to their 3% commission, and unlike them we don't have any big security f**c-ups in our past.

Please allow us to use your miner with nicehash dagger protocol also in future versions.

Thanks,

Found the answer I wanted here, that it is all good :

Thank you this person:

Checksums for my unpacked 5.5C files downloaded 29.02.2021 follows:

check the sums of the exe, dll, EIO and IOMap64 files, they must match these.

you can verify Checksums here: https://md5file.com/calculator. Just upload there there one by one PhoenixMiner.exe, EIO.dll, EIO.exe, and IOMap64.sys.

You should have the same amounts as those I indicated above.

Haven't used forum from years but all this craziness' made me to create account and post my opinion.
For beginning its clear some one attacked Phoenix miner. From long here is non stop fake link about 5.5d and its all from newbies account. Mods doing good job remove them asap but still some people have DL its and maybe got infected.
Some time ago NH announce their qick miner and how its produce similar hash/now they claim best and its NOT true. I have tested its with my 1080ti and its produce less from all other miners....but main problem with Excavator is you cant use it on any other pool different from NH. So its make this miner complete useless.
I have tested every ETH miner and overall most have close speed but reason i use Phoenix is because its support both AMD/NVidia and its working stable....not only this but he have less fee from all other miners. I thinks its main reasons why many  people use it. I don't want to say rest miners is bad just i prefer this.

Now back to NH....i have used them from years when profit is good....what really happened? I can think for 2 scenarios.
First they did mistake DL fake miner and distribute to his customers. If this is true i cant understand how some one from support in NH can be this INCOMPETENT to make mistake like this and how they don't have system for clear checking all mining soft BEFORE they distribute it to his customers. Its simple disaster quality from NH workers. Simple i CANT TRUST any soft distributed from NH from now. Everything can be malware.
Second option is if NH did all this intentional and they are behind attack on PhenixMiner. This make more sense....at lest they are not unprofessional n00bs. This is hell lame/dirty move but its just a business i can understand it but i don't want to support it. Also if they made it intentional they put his customer under risk and its not acceptable. Simple i CANT TRUST NH!

So my conclusion from all this is i wont use any more NH because they loss my trust. Its not just my personal rigs....but some farms i gave support and manage...they wont use NH too. Because bigger farms can loss much if here is security breach coming from NH. How im going to explain it?

Thanks to Phenix for his good miner and thanks to all other honest devs making good miners too.

p.s. English is not my native language.

So has it been confirmed that NiceHash did not distribute any malware through a bad version of phoenix miner? I see a bunch of FUD and people claiming they did but no proof reading through everything.

Every new "official" communication channel brings additional security risk. bitcointalk.org has been rock stable and reliable over the years. Telergram, reddit, discord, etc. all seem to be easily swayed by their respective owners, governments, etc.

bitcoinTalk has long been blocked by Internet service providers in different countries, many users have to use a VPN

Nicehash, please tell us exactly at what time and date did you incorporate the supposedly fake phoenixminer?
Many people have whole disk/partion back ups like Acronis or Aoemi and could wipe and get their pc back minus
a few days or weeks if needed. So when did nicehashminer install the suspected malware?
They will not tell you. I know this if they had proof they would show it in 1st place.

I have repeatedly suggested that you go to the telegram community to support miners and news

Hello Phoenix Miner, you have been away for more than 2 months. Should we wait for a new release?

Yes, certainly. Our activity in the forum thread is not indicative of our working hours Wink We are working hard on the next release, and in light of these recent events may push it forward a bit, leaving out the features that aren't ready yet.

We are moving our binaries to github.com as a first temporary solution, and we will be setting up a few more backup hosting options in case github also caves under pressure. Here is the link to our github.com account:

     https://github.com/PhoenixMinerDevTeam/PhoenixMiner/releases/

We will be removing all MEGA links from our posts in case that MEGA goes evil and starts distribute fake binaries in the future. From now on, MEGA is no longer an official place for distribution of the past and new versions of PhoenixMiner.

You may want to take a look at this reddit post. There was MUCH more going on than just the blog post from NiceHash. Your credibility has been smeared all day by NiceHash devs.

https://www.reddit.com/r/NiceHash/comments/lzsheq/phoenixminer_howwhywhat_statement_from_it_expert/

"...It is simply anonymous developer missing which is suspicious because he might have planted an exit strategy now that he doesnt care about reputation anymore. Runnig Phoenixminer is risky as it may not only collect devfee but do something else. In which version malware is, if it is, we don't know. It could have been in the one year old version if developer planned this for a long time.

Would you apologize to PhoenixMiner if it turns out that there was trully just a misunderstanding and some third force made him unable to fix issue with download location?

Yes, we would make public apology to PhoenixMiner if this ever happens and turns out that there was indeed no evil plan behind. But at this moment in time, we had to warn our customers about potential dangers."

Apparently you have an "evil plan".

Hello,

I am fairly new here and have never posted.

I would like to compare the checksum provided by Phoenixminer vs the last version of Phoenixminer provided by Nicehash to make sure it is legit.

Unfortunately I don't have the 15.8 version from Nicehash anymore.

Does someone still has it and could check if all files are the same as the original version from bitcointalk.org??

Thanks!

Thank you. My files came out clear.
For anyone else with 5.4c, don't just check the zip hash, since other phoenix downloads (such as mine) came with a bunch of .bat files for different pools. Instead extract it and check the 4 files individually

For 5.4c here are the hashes you should get

SHA256 hash of EIO.dll:
287e44f5067a4e770e8a0605f5720d3d1477ecc4aa4f3a26ce5d3a489ae79780

SHA256 hash of EIO.exe:
402438684406d1e3b2d1d5629151259ad864ffc55c8e6ab176f4c47c543d4fee

SHA256 hash of IOMap64.sys:
ad20e44954960278ad965b05e8c67d9d314c200809b99b1b5a219a916ce06b21

SHA256 hash of PhoenixMiner.exe:
5b4e725e584e67fc5831481d42a999b81e99acbbbb1df8f5054300daccb4409f

This only applies to version 5.4c and any version after or before that would probably have will have a different hash for PhoenixMiner.exe (but not the other 3 files) if I'm not mistaken.

Cheers
