Phore Devs have been transparent from the very beginning, no surprises, just BIG ambitions that i believe will come to fruition. I am a big holder of both PIVX and Phore, but obviously have found a gem in this one. At a fraction of the price, I can easily see this replicating similar success to PIVX, very happy i got in this one - plenty of fuel in this one! Grin

Hey Dev.. Why do you steal code, without giving respect to who coded it?? You have stripped the MIT licensing form the headers files and removed the link back to the repo you cloned it from. You act like you had anything to do with the source you are using... Care to explain?? Or are you just a scam artist??
@s3v3nh4cks the dev was upfront about cloning from pivx and then improving on it.If he missed changing some headers, no need to get agitated and the devs will fix it soon if anybody brings it to their attention. You yourself cloned PIVX from DASH and dont act butthurt when other teams clone  from PIVX repo. PHORE is the cheaper version of PIVX now, until the devs start rolling out features. It still time for you to get on the train Smiley

Have to agree here, the dev of Phore has not denied the PIVx clone claims. He has been open about the cloning claims.

Masternode question: if I want to run them locally on my server in 4 virtual machines, can I have it operate through a Socks5 proxy as to better protect my privacy?
And if I want to run 4 of them, can I differentiate between them with a different port number? Or can they (my Hyper-V's) all use the same ports?

Masternode manual: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xy3sdb1zxf4h1f6/Phore-Windows-VPS-Server.zip
You will need a separate ip for each masternode.
Really? Sad That would be disappointing :/ Thank you for the feedback! : )

Devvie

It doesn't bother me. Setting up a VPS is only about $5/month, I've even heard you can get a free one for 12 months on Amazon EC2, and you don't need to worry about keeping a local server healthy and secure. The masternode rewards pay back the $5 in less than 2 days, and that will go down as the Phore price rises.

Did you get this sorted? We have an active tech team available on the discord if you still have questions. I'll also let them know about your questions.
Awesome, that would be great! I'll go to Discord and ask around ♥

Devvie

I'm not a dev, just a happy masternode owner, and certainly they can advise you better than me in the discord, but I'll offer my thoughts. As I understand it, each masternode needs its own public IP address. If you can make that happen with your VMs and proxy, you should be OK doing what you want to do.

I'm not sure about using different port numbers--the port is part of what you put in one of the configuration files, so it looks like you can change it, I'm just not sure if the protocol supports other ports or looks specifically for the well known one.

This will be huge

it absolutely was intentional.. Don't start ' It was an accident ' BS.. This may be open-source, but there are still rules

Can you please point it out? Here's a diff of Phore headers vs. PIVX headers. Thanks! I'd like to get this resolved.

https://gist.github.com/meyer9/4b343d1005fea1e8c70d643a33543c83

I realize in the past, Phroshi made the mistake of changing PIVX to Phore in the license instead of adding Phore under PIVX to give both credit. Although this was probably intentional, it was almost certainly not malicious. In addition, it was fixed over 2 months ago in this commit: https://github.com/phoreproject/Phore/commit/e0fc7765fdcf276ee2be9409974bd2c7125c8b58. I don't understand why you are bringing it up now.

I know 100% why it's being bought up.

It's being bought up because Phore is gaining a LOT of attention and people are really starting to get involved and become part of it ( and why not it's a great project and community), this is a poor attempt at trying to cast a negative shadow over everything, and more than likely is coming from somebody in a team such as PARTICL who love slagging other projects it seems !

Yeah...
And the fact that s3v3nh4cks didn't respond to jmeyer2k's clarification seems to prove your point.

I'm sure this was not intentional. I have write-access to the repo so I can fix the licensing today.

EDIT: I just did a grep and I could only find one file where "MIT" was not mentioned. chainparamsseeds.h is auto-generated. Can you point out which header files we stripped the license from? I'd really like to resolve this issue. Thanks!

EDIT 2: I hope it wasn't intentional, I should say.
