Anthony Joshua Suffers Left Knee Injury, Marches For Black Lives Matter In Watford

Quote
Unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has suffered a left knee injury that will sideline him for at least the next four weeks, promoter Eddie Hearn told BoxingScene.com on Saturday.

https://www.boxingscene.com/anthony-joshua-suffers-left-knee-injury-marches-black-lives-matter-watford--149332

So the reports say he suffered an injury on his knees. But we all know that his fight will Pulev is going to be push and reschedule so ample time for Joshua to recover and then resume his training. Or as @JollyGood pointed out, it might not happen at all.

Four weeks is not long enough to recover, and since there is no fix date for this fight, they can still make this fight possible next month of the following month, this fight was already postponed, so there is no pressure at all, we just have to be thankful that it was just a minor injury.

There will be fights that are scheduled this month already, so let's see how this goes first.

Yes, that's the good news, there's no pressure on Joshua to make a quick recovery on his supposedly knee injury. And we don't want to hear excuses coming from him because of this one. He can take his sweet time to heal, recover and be back 100% on this fight, or whoever fighter he is going to face in the next coming months.

@Kemarit - the all British showdown is bound to happen though, regardless of the pandemic or not. There's too much money to be made if this fight are going to be finalised in paper.

The fight we are waiting for between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury could have a date in 2021. It is what is said in this article.

https://qconline.com/sports/tyson-fury-and-anthony-joshua-agree-to-two-fight-deal/article_e3b0c207-1964-5032-a4b0-c9455b35f299.amp.html

I've just got to smash Deontay Wilder's face right in, in the next fight, and then we go into the Joshua fight next year,” Fury said.

No agreements have been signed yet, only the financial part is being discussed.
I am pleased with this news because we are moving forward in the midst of this crisis.

It looks like Fury already assume that he will win the fight against Wilder, what would happen if Fury will lose in this trilogy fight against Wilder?
Then maybe this article would be useless, sure enough,  right? Grin ... I guess I like to see Wilder gonna win in their 3rd fight as he is the only one I believe who can punished Joshua, Fury might beat Joshua but not as brutal Wilder usually beat his opponents.  Grin

And another thing that is funny though, it seems that during this pandemic, suddenly all camps agreed in principle to fight each other for the biggest "fight in British boxing history", LOL. Prior to the pandemic, the two camps doesn't want to give each other benefits on the fight and we think that this fight in not going to happen specially after AJ lost his first fight against Andy Ruiz, although AJ won in the rematch, Fury's camp, they are not impressed by AJ performance. And now, all of the sudden, in this situation, they have have accepted to face eatch other? So what gives?  Grin

Does that mean Anthony Joshua suffered an injury to his knee while marching, if that is the case it would be funny, he knows how to punch but does not know how to walk Cheesy. I hope to see every life matters marches.

Do you think Eddie Hearn will put a fight without audience or are they really waiting for the audience to return  to make the fight happen.

It wont really be a long time even if they do set out 8 weeks rest or recovery wont really be that an issue and as said - the schedule of this fight havent announced yet which means theres still lot of time to recover.

Boxers and other athletes on other sports should really take well of themselves even though we are on the state where events or plays had been postponed. They should maintain their shape and trying to avoid
injuries or accidents because if the event had resumed then they are always prepare to be on canvass, court etc..

Im also bit excited on how these upcoming boxing fights would be done in a new system Cheesy

It looks like this fight might not even go ahead now. A two fight deal between Fury-Joshua has been brokered according to their promoter:

If Fury and Joshua fight is set up, what about Anthony Joshua versus Kubrat Pulev and Fury versus Wilder, after the last fight between Wilder and Fury i wanted to see Joshua and Fury rather than any other fight but these are big fights and the promoters need the audience and until then we might not seen any huge fights we are waiting to see.

Pulev To Donate Half His Purse From Joshua Fight To Help Battle Coronavirus

Quote
Bulgarian heavyweight Kubrat Pulev, the IBF's mandatory challenger, has vowed to donate half of his purse from the upcoming showdown with IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO world champion Anthony Joshua.

The boxer said he wants to help medical workers fight the "devilish" coronavirus.

The 38-year-old veteran is expected to earn around $5 million from the fight, which has been postponed due to the pandemic.

https://www.boxingscene.com/pulev-donate-half-his-purse-from-joshua-fight-help-battle-coronavirus--148093

My heart melted away when I read this article. Pulev said that he is willing to donate half of his purse, so that's $2.5 million to help the front liners in the fight for the Covid-19 pandemic. I know that there are a lot of sports personalities who are already helping or who are willing to help but this move from Pulev was very kind of him.

That is really so generous coming from Pulev himself, I'm not sure if Joshua will follow as well. But there could be a lot of sports personalities that really care and silently donating to the cause and give help whatever they can. And I guess everyone was really caught by surprised by Pulev's move here. All of us remember that infamous kiss, LOL. But I think we all agree that this guy really deserves more specially after the backlash he received when he kiss that reporter.

So wonderful for a beautiful act. His heart is really beautiful  Kiss It is not fair for a good person like him to be denounced for a simple kiss, a woman so selfish  Grin Sorry if I digress, most famous donors in the world are men. Messi and Ronaldo have donated millions of dollars to the anti-epidemic, all of them are wonderful people  Cheesy
It seems that Mayweather is not trying to help, there is still no news or articles about his donations to the people who affected to the pandemic which is the covid-19. Pulev is a good boxer because he donated millions of dollars to the frontliners. And also manny Pacquiao donated ppe equipments worth of billions of pesos to the health workers.
This is not important, many people donate without publishing to the press, they do not want to receive attention. We cannot know the truth behind that.

Yes, that a very good act from him and i do hope that Anthony Joshua would do the same, maybe not half because it's too much  Smiley.

I think sports personalities from all over the world do this because they realize that if this pandemic would go on for months, they will be the ones affected also. The amount they are donating is just penny when everything would be back to normal.

We can never really tell, some guys have are bad in the ring or even outside but they are human, they still have a heart and what Pulev showed here is he has a good heart. Mayweather is one of the richest in the sports of boxing, I hope he would be able to help too.

Pulev To Donate Half His Purse From Joshua Fight To Help Battle Coronavirus
It is a generous move and hope he is financially well off as he is 38 years old and his sporting career is coming to an end and most of the sportsperson become bankrupt once their sporting life is done and hence any donation is really generous.

I'm still bored, there's not much to watch now. Can someone suggest me a good old tournament that I can watch again?
The only option is to watch movies documentaries or play games, take a subscription on major streaming services and have fun as there is nothing else to do and i am loosing my mind sitting at home for two whole weeks just watching movies and documentaries.

But with the fears around, and with all man having different psychological state of health.
Its going to be a close call, i would really hope that the Bout is extended for a while, to help the world regard emotional and psychological balance before sporting activities resume.
I am also not expecting the situation to calm down as some are anticipating as the number of patient keep on increasing and it will take a few months for everything to settle down.

Just keep yourself occupied with other things.
Actually, there's a lot of things to do at home.
If you are bored, and complaining that you are bored at home.
Just think of other people who are complaining not because they are bored, but because they have no food on their table.
I get your thoughts, but to talk about people without food, I think it's a bit too much for the current situation, even though the economy is affected, but the food supply is still adequate. The government still has measures to support it. In my place, the isolated people even get free food and drink. They don't need to do anything, just stay still and someone brings food  Cheesy

No pun intended. But want to say, that if we are at home and we have something to eat, just be grateful for the moment.
Sports events will come in no time.
Well you got a point but it cant really be avoided not to complain about this current situation and we are all in the same boat in terms of boredom just because we cant do things that we usually do specially on going outside but now with this pandemic situation all we need is a little bit sacrifice and i would rather choose to wait for so long rather than letting myself to get infected with the virus.
We should be grateful on lots of things. Cheesy

Next, we should talk on topic and not to derail this AJ and Pulev thread.
