“I would never, under any circumstances, allow myself to show disrespect to another human being on racial, ethnic or religious grounds. That’s what I’ve been teaching my little nephews all the time. Each of us is born on this earth with equal rights, and skin color is completely irrelevant.

“I can’t believe how my words about Anthony Joshua have been taken out of context. It never even occurred to me to discredit another sportsman because of the color of his skin! Amongst my friends there are people of different races and ethnicities. They are all great and worthy people, as well as my very good, long-standing friends whom I respect and love.”

He already corrected it many people just want to sell the fight and make it personal but if there are no videos circulating and he made a correction already, he do not want people to perceive him as a racial guy and, I don't want to sell the fight this way also, honestly the fight is not interesting but it should not be promoted this way to generate more interest.

Watch this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WE05akv_k08.. it's an old video but this tells the reputation of Pulev as a person.
He is so careless doing or saying what he thinks without thinking of the consequences.

Yeah I'm familiar with that video, and maybe that's his real personality and not the first boxer though of not thinking of their actions. So I'm just saying that it could be not as a racist remarks as others might have perceived it and he quickly apologize because he knows that it will have a negative impact on him.

Yes, it doesn't really matter as Broner has been forgotten already.

Pulev does have some questionable behavior. On fight night none of that will matter. Joshua should have no problem defeating him. He doesn't doesn't absorb punches as well as Andy Ruiz so I don't see him able to withstand enough punishment to be in the fight for very long. When Ruiz pulled off the upset he was able to take some vicious shots and was able to recover from being knocked down. Pulev got busted up against a journeyman in his last fight so I can only imagine how much more badly AJ will be able to hurt him. Finally we can then move on to the undisputed battle between Joshua and Fury, after years of failed negotiations between Joshua and Wilder. With Wilder out of the picture for now it should be much easier to negotiate since Matchroom and Top Rank work together all the time.

Pulev is different though, he easily got busted so nowhere near Ruiz as far as recovery goes.

As for his behaviour, yes I do agree, it doesn't really matter, and there are worst acts in boxing racist remarks and even attacking the ethnicity and religion of their opponent. So we shouldn't take this 'very seriously', though, maybe he just blurted it out without thinking the consequences.

Remember Conor attacking Khabib's religion's and ethnicity? How about Adrien Broner telling Maidana that he will speak English after he win the fight? that's some racist shit there, but no one pays attention because after that, both of those fighters lost and those trash talking back fire on them.

I dont know much about Pulev questionable behavior but I choose Anthony to be the winning of the fight because hes more focus on winning these days after he learnt from his previous mistakes through Ruiz and the statement of Fury begging him (Anthony) to defeat Pulev the two face each other for the undisputed is another reason I believe Anthony will defeat Pulev.

With Wilder out of the picture for now it should be much easier to negotiate since Matchroom and Top Rank work together all the time.
Wilder is not yet out of the picture and Shelly Finkel seems to support/manage Wilder for the trilogy fight.

This is really disgusting and very disrespectful but he was reinstated
Quote
The California State Athletic Commission voted 6-0 to lift Pulev’s ban after he completed a class on sexual harassment prevention and paid a $2,500 fine

This give him a lesson to respect women and I think the media will not allow woman reporter to interview him again, and Joshua will make that lips bloody red when they meet in the ring so if he was interview again by a woman reported he cannot kiss her.Cheesy Cheesy

So there's another controversy,

https://www.boxing247.com/boxing-news/kubrat-pulev-in-hot-water-over-racist-comment/161425

“He has a very powerful punch, undeniably,” Pulev said at the press conference, before adding, when asked what other strengths Joshua has, this clanger: “What are his other strengths? His tan is better than mine.”

Majority branded this as racist remarks from Pulev, and with the the social movement we have right now, I'm pretty sure he irked some sports personalities again. Joshua hasn't comment though, but in any case, Joshua here should get the job done.

Or maybe Pulev is just trying to sell the fights.

You have answered it correctly, knowing the personality of Pulev, you know what he can do, so Joshua here should not be distracted and just focus on the training so in fight night, he can show his best and teach the old Pulev a lesson that could probably make him decide to retire.

I'm interested to see if there is a video stream regarding his supposedly racist remarks? I'm sorry but I can't find any. So I would give Pulev the benefit of the doubt and maybe it's not his intention that it was taken out of context.

But in any case, Pulev already responded back,

Looking at the odds on one of the bookies, Anthony Joshua 1.08 Kubrat Pulev 6.40, seems interesting since we have seen how Ruiz beat AJ back then.

I don't like the odds for AJ though, not attractive for boxing gamblers. Probably much better to look at which rounds AJ will KO Pulev.  Smiley

You don't need to put your bet right now, you can wait like a day before the fight to place your bet, you'll see a lot of betting odds for this fight.
As for me, I am not really a big fan of Joshua, and I learn going with the Favorites all the time is a bad strategy, I'll go for Pulev this time and hope for an upset.

I usually bet a day or two before the fight, I don't want to over complicate my analysis,  Smiley

I hope Kubrat Pulev will not ruin the party  Grin, Anthony Joshua should win this convincingly or not because a loss would mean the end the talks of a possible mega showdown with Tyson Fury. This fight is scheduled in December, this means that AJ would be fighting back in almost a year of inactivity, i hope ring rust would not be an issue here.

Yes, if not then a Joshua lost will derail future fights with Tyson Fury. Almost all boxers now have ring rust, and I would say that it is a big factor, so let's hope that there's no upset.

I was just giving my opinion and perspective. Either way both of the fighters have to actually win in order for their careers to progress but as of right now even though neither has won because the fight has not taken place - the odds on favourite according to bookmakers is Joshua, granted it does not mean he will actually win.

Advantage? maybe there is but we never know, we were thinking that Manny would lose against Thurman because he is already 41 years old Thurman was 31, but at the end of the round, Manny was declared as the winner. So it could also happen in this fight, who knows.

In gambling world, favorites arent really mean to win always in the end thats why sometimes i do really like to bet with underdogs specially if the odds are quite attractive.

I cant deny and do somewhat agree that age would really take a toll but it all varies on dedication and experience. No one knows if Pulev will still able to pull that knockout punch

and would see another upset but basing of between Knockdown rate or percentage- Aj does really have that power. Hope he do learn up something on his last fights!

He will because he already learned in his past mistake against Ruiz which we thought in their first fight that Ruiz would never pull an upset and then it happens. If we compare Puleb on Ruiz, I think Puleb is quite better in terms of his record and the way he looks, so it's going to be a tougher fight for him although the betting odds says the other way.

Joshua vs. Pulev could be the most lucrative boxing event of the year. Organizers are planning to host it at the Royal Albert Hall with 1,000 people willing to pay a hefty sum of money to be there £ 10,000 for each attendee who would generate £ 10,000,000 ($ 17,000,000) for Joshua vs. Kubrat Pulev.

Great amount of reward, thanks to AJ for taking his reputation back and now he continues to make money, probably this figure is way lower if the Fury vs AJ fight will happen.

Yes, I think if Fury vs AJ really happen in the future, it's going to be a huge payday for both and we do hope that by that time pandemic is gone or a vaccine is already in place. It can literally pack Wimbley if the fight push through.

It could be the biggest fight this year or next year if it will happen, speaking of figures.

As for Pulev vs AJ, that is also a huge money to be made in this pandemic, and because AJ has regain his sttatus I believed that he can pull great numbers against Pulev as well. Could be one of the most lucrative for this year, as we still have Fury vs Wilder or Canelo vs GGG possible before the end of the year.

Lots of money for them though, if they are thinking of helping people then they can do that.
The fights you've mentioned are all interesting fight, I would definitely not gonna skip any of the fight but I was also hoping that Canelo vs GGG would nto happen, instead a PACMAN vs GGG would take place.

These preparations could be advanced once the UK and London reopen.

It may be soon because the Prime Minister has announced that restaurants and other businesses will reopen as of July 4th.
