@LoyceV, do you create that colored post manually? I’m always curious on how do you guys do that (if not manually typing and attaching bbcode color).    Undecided

LoyceV is a bot. Bots don't do anything manually!

By the way, have you read his colored text?

Or go full crazy and use https://www.stuffbydavid.com/textcolorizer

I obviously read his colored post and this is the main reason for my curiosity for my question. It’s mind blowing to think that he will manually type all this bbcode color code since it’s not available as default in the forum. I hope this is already not Off topic on this thread considering that this is all about text color discussion. Sorry @jackpotracer for slightly hijacking your thread.

Wow!! I didn't  know we could use hex format , on sight I had to quote to check how it's been done, it was so cool .

Afaik Signature code frequently use hex format if you look at the bbcode of all the signature design in the forum.

However, I think what I ought  to type has been typed already but I will like to add that , color texture  are sometimes  disturbing  to readers and  instead of fascinating  readers tend to ignore even if it's  a quality post,
Sometime  color ought to be chosen  based on the background color to compliment it, forget about the Bold

Let us take your signature as an example, and I want to reiterate that I am in no way against signatures and signature campaigns.
Why do you think are so many colors in the signatures?
Signatures are graphic designs just like avatars and should carry the colours of the brand they are advertising. Factoids in signatures do not randomly alternate color scheme and neither should texts in a thread.

Do you like colored text in forum posts?
How do you believe the use of colored text enhances or detracts from the forum experience?
Should the forum continue to offer text formatting options, including colors, for posts?
• If used properly it can make a post easier to read. When abused like you do, it's like a toddlers color book
• The way you use it detracts.
• The forum has multiple text features. I can make a word this big. Doesn't mean I should make my threads using that size of text.

Instead of looking for reasons to justify your abuse of the color format code, look to make corrections based on what is generally acceptable.

I’m not against it if you are just using neutral color to make it calming in the eyes. The forum plain white background is already straining to the eyes during night even with the default black text. Adding color just like what you are using “blue” will make your post very annoying to ready particularly that most of your post is just a negative attack against a certain casino.

You are purposely using color to your post just to attract attention through annoying them. Using it regularly is I strongly disagree because it should be use only on post that need to attract attention such as ANN thread and not a regular post for discussion purposes. Everyone read your post regardless of the color, user just ignore some of your post because you don’t want to discuss if user doesn’t agree with you.

No one will take such posts seriously.
This is crazy! How old are you OP? 12?
Color should be functional, for instance to make a long list easier to read, or to highlight a scam warning. If you post like a Teletubby, I won't bother reading it.

What's with the Bold text? You've earned only 10 Merits in 6 years. That means your posts aren't worth reading, or nobody reads them. Or both. You'll fit right into my Ignore list.
I think you should update your forum netiquette.

Since I have been attacked by some members for using colored text in my posts, I thought I would open a poll to see what other members think.

I like colored text.
You like it but others can not like it.

You have freedom to use color for your texts and they have freedom to dislike color used by you in your texts. If they said they don't like your used colors, it does not mean you must stop it. If you see their recommendation is right, you can change your colorful texting style but if you disagree, just use what color you see right.

Honestly you can google and see using colors for texts are not always good and generally their recommendation for you makes sense. It's just you accept it or not and how they used what words to express their recommendation for you so you see it is comfortable or so harsh.

for all other posters here regarding text color usage and attacking me in person for using colors.

Why do you think are so many colors in the signatures?

the answer should be easy

I opened this poll to get a fair poll and no attacks against me. it is enough if you give your opinion in a friendly way and vote in the poll.

it depends, if the poster is using it to organize or highlight parts of their post, then it can enhance the post. but if the poster is using it for the sake of just using it, it can be annoying to read(for example the quoted post _act_ shared above)

Should the forum continue to offer text formatting options, including colors, for posts?
Yes absolutely
Yes with some restrictions
No it should be removed entirely
yes they should, colored text has its purpose and if it is used correctly it can enhance(as I mentioned before) the post.

I like colored text.

I get that you dig the colored text, but that don't automatically make it universally beloved.  And using the excuse that "every forum does it" is just lazy reasoning. Maybe those members who criticized you had a point – colored text can be irritating and unprofessional and can totally throw off someone's flow when reading posts. so before assuming we all share your affinity for colored texts, take a sec to ponder why some folks take issue with it in the first place.

Text coloring exists to highlight certain parts of the text, not the whole thing. The same goes for bold and italics.  You should learn how to use formatting effectively and the etiquette of online communication.

Unless you are a newbie experimenting how to use the forum bbcode format, I don't see any good reason why a post should look like this:

No one will take such posts seriously. I will be quoting @tranthidung thread since it covers everything I want to say:

Don't over bold, highlight, paint, glow
Over using those effects is likely distracting readers' attention on those effects rather than what writers want to discuss.

It seems this is a habit for you although it was not always so judging by your old posts. I think your obsession with BlackJack and finding ways to derail discussions on their ANN thread is the reason why you write in such a aggressive manner.

It depends on how it's used. I think people raise their complain because you use it excessively. Consider use bold or color only on few sentences or words. There's reason phrase "less is more" exist.

I think if people are use colored text for nothing, it's better for theymos to change the domain from bitcointalk.org to kindergarten.org.

Colored text is useful if you want to highlight something, just like in Report plagiarism (copy/paste) here. Mods: please give temp or permban as needed

Also this is not only about colored text, but text styling too, don't use bold for no reason.

Colored text isn't supposed to be an issue on any online forum, except after being abused by some members who actually makes the abuse so obvious and irritating. Yes it's is offered on the forum futures for purpose like highlisting an important part of your post and making it being noticed by your readers.
Creating a whole thread filled with over 3 or more text color to me seems very immature and shows signs of a low quality poster. So if one must use the text color, it must be for some reasons.

Also I have one question for you mate. Do you know that color at different instance Carrys different meaning?
For ever color offered on the forum, they all shows different meaning and tells us some how what the writer is trying to pass along. So when using them, consider what you are trying to pass along before inserting too much color in your post.

Do not expect admin to remove color text feature on this forum because it is very important while making topics and some posts. You can see some people that use it appropriately and it makes their post to be neat and attractive to read.

But some people are using it in a way it makes their posts annoying. Some people will just color all the words in their posts and that is annoying.

Example of the one that is annoying:

I am starting this thread and question as in a recent discussion a member answered me to my posting:

>my opinion is that legit casinos should publish the bankroll amount as I think a big bankroll will attract big and small players and a small bankroll will only attract small players if at all.

His answer:
I don't think this is really that necessary though I do agree with you that this move will definitely attract really big players to the casino if their bankroll is large enough, and would also raise the casino's reputation and customer's trust for them to the roof tops, but still, making this information public is still in the casino's descretion, it's up to them to decide to do it

IMHO By making the bankroll publicly available, online casinos would demonstrate their commitment to accountability and fair play.

I'm aware that there are different perspectives on this issue, and I'm eager to hear what the community thinks. Do you think that online casinos should disclose their bankrolls? Why or why not? And if so, what measures could be implemented to ensure accuracy and reliability in reporting?

Let's start a discussion and delve into the pros and cons of this proposal. Your insights and opinions are greatly appreciated!

I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

PS
Please refrain from personal attacks and insulting me or any other member as this is a serious issue and should be discussed accordingly.

edit:

As a member wrote that I missed to add a poll, I have now found the option to add a poll.
If you think I should add a poll, please let me know. Thanks!

>  I thought about adding a poll, but then I was afraid that many spammers will just vote and not comment and it might give us a wrong picture.

But this is not annoying tBTC loans

Some people use it to make what they needed to let people know to easily be seen. Red for example as a warning and something to avoid and blue for example as an important information. But not that they will have all the post in colours.

I like colored text.

Please vote and give us your pros and cons in a friendly and civilized manner.

Interesting for me is if most members vote to remove and not offer the text formatting, if the forum owner will take it out and delete the text formatting.

Since I could not find the option to add more questions, I will add more questions with answers here to give more food for discussion. If anyone knows how to do this, I would be grateful if they could point me in the right direction.
