Comparing theology of both is like discussing various delusion cases at the mental hospital.  It is fun but it does not get you anywhere.  One patient thinks he is Napoleon the other thinks he is from a planet Kolob.  Bottom line is, they are both bat shit crazy.

But one might be having a lot more fun than the other.

There is no other religion that is as near to truth as these. Certainly the religion of atheism can't hold a candle to these two.

Cool

If by truth you mean the Republic of Corsican Orges on the planet of Kolob, then yes, both of these are pretty close.

I like how Hinduism solve this problem of 'faith and religion'. According to them every 'true believer' is equally good.
As long as you believe it doesn't matter if you pray to God, Allah, Vishnu, Krishna or Yahweh.

This is based on ignorance. If this idea were widespread, it might bring peace here and there. But until somebody knows which god/God is the REAL one, all this idea does is to hide the truth some more.

I think that every religion is equal. You should not judge someone depending on his beliefs.

i dont understand, how and why people here so many pick atheis or have no religion on poll, and just some people who choose islam or cristian as religion, i think people here already know that atheis was not good for people who want life with peace.

Lol because Islamic countries across the globe are perfect examples of peace and tranquility (when they arent killing each other for being the wrong type of muslim  Roll Eyes )

Better to die for cherished Christian mumbo jumbo and go to Heaven, than die without it and lose eternal life.

But, what if you're wrong?

What if the Muslims chose the correct religion?

There is a thing called faith. Faith in this case revolves around "God said." When you examine the details of Christianity and Islam, you will see that Christianity has way more logic surrounding it that Islam does. Neither are completely blind faith. Yet neither present facts in ways that take them out of the faith realm entirely.

The fact that God is proven to exist by science, nature, the hearts of most people along with their thinking, shows that until you acknowledge God, you don't even have a sufficient position of authority from which you can question or compare "God" religions even though you might act like you do.

Cool

To justify your Christian mumbo jumbo you use more Christian mumbo jumbo.  Comparing Islam and Christianity ideologies is pointless.  They both were invented for the same purpose: to control and enslave most people, enrich few cocksuckers with fancy hats or beards.

If you want to compare Islam and Christianity, compare them in a historical context, who invented these ideologies, and why?  Compare the spread of both.
If you want to compare them from the ideological point of view,  compare the psychological damage they cause to people, impact on societies, etc.

Comparing theology of both is like discussing various delusion cases at the mental hospital.  It is fun but it does not get you anywhere.  One patient thinks he is Napoleon the other thinks he is from a planet Kolob.  Bottom line is, they are both bat shit crazy.

What? You don't have any details about, "... the Republic of Corsican Orges on the planet of Kolob?" Check into Christianity in depth, and you will see that it fits living, life, history and the afterlife way more than any other religions, be they some group religions, or be they some personal religions.

Cool

Decker, you think I did not study it?  Fuck, I studied it plenty.  Probably more than 90% of your congregation.

I grew up with it.  Catechism was pounded into my brain from the age of 6 until about 11.  At 11-12 I could formulate arguments against it that my priest could not refute.  I was routinely thrown out of religion classes in my teenage years.  Then dropped religion all together.  I went along with attending masses and listening to the BS until I was about 18.  Only because of cute girls.  Even now, I go to church for my extended family 'functions'.  But every time I go it is getting more ridiculous...A freak show to collect money.  Many people are serious about it, some even cry in church. I stay awake, show respect by not laughing, eat the cracker and go home.

I think religion is a metal health issue.
So the faith is a mental issue?

Yes.

Yet faith is what everyone lives by just to live. Why? Because nobody knows the future even one second into the future. How can we tell? Because if we knew the future, there wouldn't be any car accidents. Why not? We would know that they were coming, and we would change the way we did things to avoid them.

We all live by faith, hoping that the next thing that happens will be at least as good as the thing that just happened. But we don't KNOW that it will. We live by faith.

Who or What do we have faith in? The Guy Who set cause and effect into motion.

Cool

Not really.  I don't live by faith.  I count on my skills and I don't hope things will just happen for me.

Hope is an indication that you have no control over your life.

I try to control what I can. I don't worry about the things I cannot control.

Well, you sorta have me there. I wasn't intending to go that deep. But what you are saying is that you don't have any worries whatsoever.

Think about this. Any decision you make is caused by stimuli, even if it is simply some food that you ate, causing certain bio-electric brain synapse firings, that wouldn't have happened otherwise. The point is, all your thinking and living has to do with the whole fantastically gigantic and complex cause and effect activity in the universe.

What does this have to do with worry? You don't have any worry. At most you have synthetic worry, simulated worry, artificial worry. Why? Because you don't have any control whatsoever. None of us do. At the core of our beings, we operate by cause and effect. Something or many things caused us to react the way we do. That's it, even though we seem to feel otherwise. At least, so says science.

The teachings of Christ and the 10 Commandments are ideals and values worth believing in and give children a solid foundation - if reinforced through childhood-to-adulthood - for being law-abiding, well-behaved, hard-working, productive, kind, and charitable adults. They give people reasons to do good and be good. Some people need that reinforcement, even if it's fear of damnation. They really make for much more civil societies. For these reasons, it's irrelevant to me whether or not a God actually exists.

Try communism.  It creates very law-abiding, well-behaved, hard-working, productive, kind, and charitable adults.

The communist societies have very low crime rates, drugs use, homosexuality, child sexual abuse and prostitution are non-existent, kids excel in Math and Science, competing ideologies are banned.  Perfect world for you.  Just replace your Christian ideology with the Communist ideology.

BTW, Christians started and conducted almost all wars in human history.  All non-Christian countries were conquered by "sword and fire".

Many people died because of your cherished Christian mumbo jumbo.

Your distortion of reality is troubling. But then again you believe people can live animal stomachs for days, be risen from dead, 6000 years old, flat Earth etc.

Religion might be a mental health issue, but if it is, it is one that all people have by nature. Getting rid of it out of your life, is something that is very difficult to do... and remain alive, that is. You would have to change your nature. Since your nature is greatly controlled by your DNA, you would have to mentally change your DNA... which can be done with great difficulty. Your best bet is to accept religion, and attempt to find the truth of life. Attempting to deny the fact of religion in yourself, without changing your DNA to make it happen, is even a worse mental health issue.

Your church problems from your early years is not the way that Jesus did it. Jesus did not pound any training into anyone. In fact, Jesus was so delicate in his inviting and encouraging, that most people didn't even realize that He was calling them. It's the reason that Jesus used parables when He was speaking with the people in general. DON'T LET A BUNCH OF CATHOLIC CHURCH INDOCTRINATION STEAL HEAVEN FROM YOU. People who do it the Church way, often don't know that they are sinning.

Get a copy of the New Testament in a modern day English format. Set aside your bitterness for a while. Read the Gospels and Acts.  Better, get Bible CDs and listen to the Gospels and Acts on CD. Let God's Spirit talk to your heart.
