show us the bat/config file, and please tell us WHAT is not working. Does it not start at all? does it freeze fast, does it just accumulate HW errors? what is it?

I have no problem with the new x11 kernels running under 14.6 beta drivers with sgminer 4.1.0. All r9 290 rigs hashing at 5 MHs/card.

For comparison:

sapphire R9 290 (both reference implementation rigs and trix rigs):
scrypt: 880 kHs
scryptn: 460 kHs
X11:5000 kHs

semi-agressive configs but not prefectly optimised, still the numbers are pretty much in range with other 290 owners.

I also got a couple of sapphire 290 reference but never got them to run at 5k Sad whats your settings for that speed ?

@PW

How is the X13 alpha test going? I'd like to get started setting up for X13.
I have a working X15 setup right now and mining Maiacoin on another machine.
I have a machine available for testing X13.
Ideally I will come up with a multi algo config for wafflepool using sgminer v5 beta ...

Update on the issues that I'm having:

The problem kept persisting even after reloading Win8 and reloading all of the drivers and everything. I then noticed a couple of times when rebooting that the screen would pop back up and I could access the desktop/move the mouse around before it would actually reboot.  I noticed that the problem would occur at more or less exactly the same time every time.  Then it happened again and I realized that I could get back to the desktop and the miner would start working again if I smashed on the keyboard a couple of times with my fist. I'm thinking that the rig is going into hibernate or some other sort of power saver mode.  I guess that upgrading to 8.1 reset those settings, and the reason that my old "test" drive was working,  and main drive was working before my 8.1 update is because I had set those power saver settings to not be an issue.
I have to check those settings now but I'm pretty certain that that's the problem.

Thanks for everyone who chimed in with tips and ideas, and to WP for allowing me to post up in his thread with my issues. I feel pretty stupid right now,  but I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel, hopefully.

I have not tested  v5 with x11 or x13 yet.
right now i'm concentrating on getting x15 working  a coin launch in about 5 minutes

use sph  4.1.0  x11 right now till i get thru testing v5 (4.2.1)
I am trying to use the 4.1 version of the SG with your X11MOD X13MOD is not running!
A few posts ago you stated that you downloaded SGminer v5 beta not Sgminer 4.1.0
I have not tested x11mod or x13mod on it yet.

get sph_sgminer 4.1.0, make sure you have 14.6 RC2 installed properly ... go to https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.7520635
and look at some of the configs users have posted ...

John, any idea what the hashing speed coefficient vs scrypt you get with the new 14.6 drivers and x13 kernel? Is it around 6x like x11?
X11 around 4-4.2x
X11mod optimized gets 5.6-5.7X on a 280x
X11mod optimized gets 6.2-6.5x on a 7950

More like 3x  X13 (from what I have read various places) I have not tested optimized X13 kernel with waffle yet waiting  X13 beta testing.  Then I will have to do config tuning yet again Huh

I would guess around 4.0-4.2x  X13mod optimized

Currently I am waiting on a X15 coin launch

http://countingdownto.com/countdown/maiacoin-launch-countdown-clock

Currently testing X15 algo (bitblock), I'm getting around 2.2Mhs on a 7950 which is about 4x scrypt

I downloaded
Kernel.7z: http://puu.sh/9Bkmt/c7f933e297.7z
SGminer beta 5 Windows 7 X64
http://Https://mega.co.nz/#! 9BYBCIpb! 9u-UdMe9h3SV_6ifqTsCpI1PkTiXdBzLoxModwfbKb4
14.6 catalyst RC2 June 23
But did not get what you say: X11mod optimized gets 5.6-5.7X on a 280x
Error: HW and increased r:100%

Stratum connection timed out
Stratum connection interrupted

Ping uswest and sea has no problem.
What could be the reason?

I hope everyone knows that the first of July, cryptsy administered verification for their clients. Without  verification, daily amount can not exceed $ 1,000 per day. Many people will not agree to such an exchanger. This is the way a broken exchanges mtgox. Diamond will be needed a new large exchanger.

This is an incorrect statement.  We have not begun daily limitations on cryptocurrencies yet and will phase it in slowly when we do.   In any case, if you do alot of large deposits and withdrawals, then you should really get verified now instead of later.

BigVern
im shocked  Shocked

cryptsy support tickets ending in nirvana

but bigvern himself posting in our ANN thread  Grin

thats good news combined with the again working diamond withdraw on cryptsy it show they care

thx for feedback bigvern

No idea ... wafflepool has no use for client.reconnect atm.
poolwaffle might be able to answer that ...
I frequently move from pool to pool and have it enabled so far no problems mining.
I'd be very cautious about using client.reconnect feature ... we lost a lot of hashrate to re-directions and
I would never disable it (set false) to use a pool.

Thanks for detailed info.  Cheesy

We never use client.reconnect, if you have no use for it, disabling it can only prevent problems.

We also never use X-Stratum (if my mind serves me, this is the old Stratum upgrade header on non-stratum connections - which we don't support/use anywhere?)

Is client.reconnect issue still exists?

Do all miners have to disable client.reconnect feature?
Any detail info?
That was an issue long ago here on waffle ... in short it doesn't hurt to enable it

"no-client-reconnect" : true,

Still a possible attack vector for any mining client that does not have it set.

Maybe "X-Stratum" method is also affected? It also forwards stratum server.

Is SSL the only way to protect from it when we enable client reconnect function?
