Nice video from a guy who went to Electroneum office : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGmcE1U_070

great post, I was not panicked anyway, it seems we just gotta wait 3-4 weeks,

Our coins are all secure, and fine and cosy in cotton, on the blockchain, so we do not have to panic.

Great video, I think people need to watch it, richard E and team are quite transparent.

This will be huge. :-)  Buying more on cryptopia today. NICE!

Wonder how many flippers are stewing they've put their 'make a quick profit funds' into this coin and now have to deal with forced hodl for a month having opportunities elsewhere come and go before their eyes.

Great lesson here, don't bank on getting rich on ICO hype for a quick buck. Seek repentance from baby jesus for being a dirty stinking low life maggot flipper.

probably a lot of tards put their rent money into this and assumed they would be millionaires by the time their landlord got around to evicting them  Cheesy

Most don't bother to read/view or even search for updates to come to a conclusion. The dev team is obviously no joke. Just be patient and take a lesson from this ICO experience.

Isn't it amazing?

Just two and a half weeks ago, hype and positivity were through the roof.
Now, it's like civil war, there are those screaming scam and those screaming, "ETN will NEVER let us down!"

Look, there is obviously something wrong, and it is obviously more than just a hack attempt.

First off, blockchain technology is immutable.  Our coins are not on the website, they are on the blockchain.
No one can hack it unless they have your personal keys.
So in order for hackers to be able to steal our ETN there would have to be a problem with the online wallet where hackers can go in and extract our keys.
If there was a chance for this to happen this flat out means that the wallets are not ready.

...and the official mining pools aren't ready
...and the blockchain explorer isn't ready

So to me, it just looks like they didn't have a strong tech team and missed the nov. 1st deadline completely and are now finishing it up.

well, ok, so stuff that like happens and it doesn't matter as long as we eventually get our coins yeah?

The thing is, a huge component of ETNs success was hype, and now a lot of it is dead and gone.

So now me, a day one ICO investor, is rather upset.  I think it is reasonable to be upset and unreasonable to blindly still think ETN to the MOOOOOOON!
What are you talking about? The coins are not in separate wallets on the block chain. All ICO coins are (as far as we know) on one address that was premined on block 1, controlled by the electroneum team. Every investors coins "are on the website" in the sense that they are just numbers in some register somewhere on one of electroneums server and will be converted to coins on the block chain later when the electroneum team is done with their security fixes.

Hey,
Everex had also a security breach during ICO. Some hackers got all participants emails and token amounts, and then send phishing emails. So after the tokensale ended the team had 2  thorough audits just to make sure, and distributed the tokens a month after the ICO (plus one week for tokens to be transferable). So the situation was somewhat similar, and I'm not worry about Electroneum since I'm not looking for a quick flip. Eventually we all get our coins.

Hey Sud,

Thanks for the details.
The difference between Everex and ETN is that ETN team doesn't share any details on the "hack", so nobody has any idea of what's been stolen or what the risks are.

Like probably most people here I have an IT background and I also discussed this issue with developers and security specialists.
We couldn't come to a conclusion what could possibly go so wrong that tokens can't be released for more than a week and what prevents ETN team from making this launch more transparent.

After all ETN team could send out emails to all the investors asking them to re-login to the system with temporary passwords and also add second level of authentication.

And if ETN coins were stolen, they could have restarted blockchain on day 1, not a big deal.

ETN team had a good promotion, so they are good on the marketing side.
And their silence now may also be a part of some kind of marketing game.
Or they simply don't give a damn about investors because they already got their money Smiley

I'm really curious to see how this project evolves, so far I have ambiguous feelings.

On one hand, they collected 40 mil, so they obviously have smart people in the team.
On the other hand, no development was done - blockchain is a lazy fork of Monero, they can' operate mining pools, they are holding 5-10 BTC worth of bitcoins that were mined on the official pools, they haven't provided any technical insight regarding any of the issues.

Well, if anybody participated in Everex ICO, situation was similar. We waited over a month for audits to end, before the tokens were released. Everybody was crying all over the place, but now EVX is on market and price looking good, people forgot about. Hope we will see this scenario here also.

Hey Sud,

Do you happen to know what was the reason for Everex team for taking so long to release the tokens?
Where there any details provided on the hack and the actions taken?

Thank you.

All the hype that was being out there a few day before 1. November and few days after will simply disappear in following weeks. They should have hired more people in order to answer all questions above, Contraband is answering here 1-2 post per day, which is insufficient for a project that has 300k+ people involved in it. I'm holding ETN for next month or two, but anyway this is not best way interact with your audience.
