Farense and Porto will face today in san luis. Porto are third in the league table, 5 points behind leaders Sporting Portugal. Farense beat Casa Pia 3-1 in their last away match to move up to seventh in the points table. Farense is very strong at home, I think it will be a fight in today's match. But Porto's 5-0 win over Moreirense in their last match proved that their frontline has become much stronger. However, Porto is out of touch with the past records of the two teams. Based on recent performances I think both teams will score but the match will go in Porto's favour.

Damn, what a heartbreak for Estoril, they wasted historical chance to lift trophy. And not that they didn't didn't had chance against Braga - they actually were so close in penalty shootout. Bothteams were perfect in shootout, until Araujo, only left foot player in shootout who missed 5th penalty for Estoril.
For Braga this win is big thing, they don't have chance to lift trophies very often. It's their 3rd ever League Cup.

On Sunday we return to league action with 5 games, though, there is no big matchups. From big clubs only Porto is playing, they will face Farense away.

iam not believe estoril can reach to final league cup.
The team's performance in the Portuguese league has been poor and currently sits just above the relegation zone. However, in the cup competition, their displays have been exceptional and surprising. This is evident from their recent victory over the league leaders, Sporting Lisbon, in the semi-finals.
The two semi-final matches in the League Cup ended in dramatic fashion indeed. Braga narrowly won 1-0 against Sporting clube de Portugal, but Estoril won on penalties shootout against Benfica. I think Estoril is the easy opponent for Braga in today's match because of the loss of two big teams. I think Estoril can not take advantage against Braga. Both teams are likely to score but my likely prediction is 3-1 win for Braga to take home the League Cup title.

From what I saw, Benfica was playing with its best players and still lost in this game, although the game ended in a draw and needed penalties, I still see that if Benfica had been strong they would have managed to win in the 90 minutes. game, but Benfica couldn't win, Benfica didn't manage to score many goals in that game, they were very bad in that game and Estoril deserved that victory. Now just because Estoril were lucky to beat Benfica, it doesn't mean they have become strong, I see Braga with a good chance of becoming champions. Braga managed to beat Sporting in the 90 minutes

Braga managed to stop the cycle of many goals that Sport had been having in the last few games, which was expected, I say this because in Sport's last game, although they managed to win and scored 5 goals, they still managed to concede 2 goals, and this showed great fragility for Sporting's defense and in yesterday's game Braga just needed to remain very strong in defense and manage to score at least 1 goal to win the game, and that's what Braga did. With this victory, Braga reached the final. In my opinion, this defeat for Sporting and Benfica must have hurt a lot for these two teams because at least when a team in a season ends with a trophy and doesn't win the title, it helps when it comes to receiving criticism from fans and the club's management.

If Benfica or Sporting had reached the final and one of them won and became champion, then even if they didn't manage to win the league they would show some trophy to the fans. But nothing is lost for Sporting and Benfica this season. Both teams can still win:

1 - the Portuguese league
2 - Portuguese cup
3 - european league

There are 3 competitions that Sporting and Benfica can win and end the season with a trophy
In the Portuguese league, there are teams with higher impacts in the league games and European contests too. Benfica, Sporting, Porto are most impactful in this regard. For Porto, they're doing well in the league and also have good performance records in the UCL too even though they weren't able to keep up with their good performance in their last league game which wasn't so acceptable. Same applies for Benfica and Sporting who's got their own record in the European cups too. Benfica did well at securing the three points in their last game with a good goal margin. It only shows how set they are for the task put before them.

Although a lesser performance wasn't expected from them though but they're definitely a stable team in the league
The league seems less competitive though as there are still weeks left and just these 3teams are trying to make good wave in the league. I think not. But if they become champions, it will be something very incredible for them

I think I'll be rooting for Estoril, it would be a great achievement for the team as they've never won this competition

Estoril's goalkeeper helped the team a lot, he played a big role in helping the team

Estoril may be surprised, as they are playing well, despite the last few games in the championship not being positive. But, there is a new coach and the players want to show things. Besides, this is a different competition. Even playing with the best players, the test has little weight and ends up not being as motivating for the bigger teams.

Braga is better and has everything to win, but in this competition it is difficult not to believe in surprises, and Estoril will make history.

The motivation factor counts for a lot, I agree with you
For a big team, these competitions are not the focus, but for a smaller team, it can be the big chance to win a title, win the prize, and for many players, it will be the most important game in their lives
It's not so rare to see smaller teams beating big teams in championships like this

Is it possible for Estoril to surprise once again and become champions? Once again the odds are not in the team's favor

So far Estoril is leading 0:1 and I really would like to see upset of underdog. After all, League Cup isn't main tournament for big clubs, their priority is league and UEFA cups. But it will be very difficult for Estoril to keep a lead, now matter how many buses they will park. In whole 1stt half basicaly they had only 1 moment which they converted into goal.

I'm quite surprised that Estoril made it to the grand final  Shocked
And to tell you the truth, I'm happy that the final will be Braga vs Estoril, it's great to see a different team make it to the final
The goalkeeper Dani Figueira helped Estoril a lot and the team is to be congratulated for holding the pressure until the end

Benfica is a really wonderful team honestly. Even though they part ways with their really important players they are still able to stay strong. I can't say that for the Champions League this season though.  Grin  But in the Liga Portugal they are amazing. They look like they will be competitive for the title until the end of the season.

Benfica is really good at making a good profit in talented players also. Gonçalo Ramos, Enzo Fernandez, Darwin Nunez and so on. All of them were sold for huge amounts.  Smiley

Mark my words, Marcos Leonardo will also be a target for big teams in the future. He is a really talented striker who was signed from Santos for only 18 million euros.

However, it should be mentioned that Sporting lost today to Braga, in the semi-final of the League Cup. The game ended 1-0 with Braga winning.

Tomorrow Benfica plays Estoril, the other semi-final, to see who will face Braga in the final, next Saturday.

I agree, it was another good signing, who despite only having played a few minutes, is showing a lot of quality and a good minutes/goals ratio. It was a signing designed for next season, but I think this season will be very useful for Benfica.

I don't think it will be a difficult game for Benfica
I've checked the odds and it's 1.23 for Benfica to win, with a 78% chance of victory

About yesterday match
Sporting played well, had more chances to score, created more, and had more possession, but Braga got a goal from Abel Ruiz who came off the bench and then hold Sporting's pressure until the end of the game, it was a very difficult match to them

The final will probably be Benfica x Braga
If the odds for the final are good I'll bet, but I won't bet today

I believe that Benfica will do better in a second round of the championship. Despite the problems they had at the beginning, they are now more stable and will probably start to have better results without major difficulties.

I think Porto is still very unstable, and Sporting continues to play very well, if they don't lose key players they will continue to do well.

Today there's a Porto game, I didn't bet on Porto and I see today's game being very complicated for Porto...

Hehehe, it's hard to get it right every time, Porto won 5x0   Shocked
I didn't expect that either

And again I won my bet, top 4 teams won all games, I started the year with 2 bets and 2 wins on Portuguese league
Next round I think I'll do again, looks like Porto, Benfica, Sporting and Braga can win again their matches, the toughest match is probably Porto vs Farense, but I don't think Porto will drop points in that one, specially now that Sporting and Benfica are in good phase again, they won the last 5 matches

The same happens in Spain, and that is not why the Spanish League is considered less competitive.

In most games, these big teams have a lot of difficulty getting their first goal, sometimes they need more than 1 hour of play to reach the first goal. In reality, only in England and perhaps Italy do you see more teams fighting for first place. In the remaining European championships, there are almost always 2 or 3 clubs fighting for first place.
3 teams fighting for tittle isn't bad thing. Bundesliga and Ligue 1 is considered as stronger leagues, but Bayern and P$G rarely face competition for title there.
The problem is level of rest teams. Other teams expect Braga rarely qualifies to group stages of UEFA cups. While in neighbour Spain almost every year Spanish teams like Sevilla, Villarreal, Athletic and etc is serious contenders for these trophies.
Everything is ok with Benfica, Sporting, Porto and Braga. They need to raise level of remaining teams somehow to become one of Top 5 leagues.

In my case I put Sporting and Benfica in my multibet bet, the odds are @2.23, it's not a very good odds, but this week I forgot to add more games that could have easily reached a very high odds. So far in my parlay I have already been correct in two games which are the game between Sporting and Vizela in which I put Sporting to win, I confess that I watched this game and saw Vizela fighting hard to get out of this game with a good result that even me I was afraid of losing that bet, but when Sporting scored more goals I felt more confident that the game would end with Sporting's victory. Sporting's attack has been unstoppable in the last few games, in that game against Vezela they managed to score 5 goals, they are a strong candidate to win the league

Another game that I already confirmed was Benfica's game against Boavista. I also watched that game, Benfica played very well, they dominated the game, they exchanged the ball a lot and recovered the ball quickly. But Benfica's problem in this game was that they weren't able to cause much danger to Boavista's goalkeeper. Even with a lot of control over the game, Benfica, when they got close to Boavista's goalkeeper, were unable to create situations that allowed them to score goals, they scored 2 goals, but when they play against teams that are very strong in defense then they will have a lot of problems scoring goals.

Today there's a Porto game, I didn't bet on Porto and I see today's game being very complicated for Porto. Moreirense got a draw when they played against Benfica but before playing against Benfica they lost against Sporting, they are the type of unpredictable team when they play against top opponents and they are inconsistent in the last few games. Porto needs this victory, a defeat in this game would put Porto 10 points away from reaching the leader of the table. But even if Porto lost, it still wouldn't be the end of them in the fight for the title. I've seen cases of teams that were more than 10 points ahead in the table and didn't become champions.
The league seems less competitive though as there are still weeks left and just these 3teams are trying to make good wave in the league. Over the years it's still these three that have been the most talked about because of the feats they've attained.
