Dealing with addiction is more like just a person who has made up his or her mind to go to the rehab for proper transformation. Before one makes up his or her mind going there one must have to be morally fit to overcome the self satisfaction derived from what they are addicted to. Same is applicable to gamblers. Before you decide to do away with your gambling addiction, you must be morally fit and ready to play along while undergoing the process to transform from being an addicted or chronic gambler. Self discipline matters too because this is what will tell if you are really going to be impacted positively to yourself or not.
Yes just like saying if one of your legs leads you astray you have to cut it off, same with addictions, to be able to come out of it you have to caught off a lot of things and stay away from them all, this must be an attitude goh have to abide with, battling gambling addictions os one of the hardest war to win and it takes a lot of time and energy to be able to you'll out of it ultimately.
Yes, it makes a little sense, in fact, if someone wants to quit with a note that they are really serious then they must be willing to do anything to get out of the addiction. It can't be denied that sometimes there are some who say that they want to quit but it's just words and not with any action, I heard that saying from those who just lost and the next day it turned out that they were still gambling again and with a stronger intention to restore the defeat of the last day. And yes, there must be actions that are really based on strong intentions if you really want to stop, don't just say it, I understand that temptation must always come to your mind and well that's what you should be able to avoid. You have to be able to think more clearly in that condition, maybe you think you can win but I think in gambling everyone should not overdo it and I would say "it is better to prevent than to cure" it's a good statement than you are getting worse because of too much ambition. But yeah it's quite difficult, but nothing is impossible and I'm sure you can do it if you really mean it.
Sometimes, you need the help of other good wishes to be able to win the war, but with persistent and focus it may take time but surely you will record positive results.
Well that's right, it's actually very difficult to quit addiction if we only rely on the desire to quit, not only that, like you said and that means you also have to be able to find other activities that can make you stay away from gambling or forget about it. Like for example looking for other activities that are more positive, like for example adding a part-time job, don't let you have free time because I'm sure in that position you will definitely remember gambling and surely the temptation will come to continue to encourage you to gamble. So yes, the point is that this is a good alternative to choose but you must be able to consistently do it.
