Controlling addiction becomes increasingly challenging as we age, which is why age limits are often imposed on habits with the potential for harmful addiction. While some strategies can help manage these habits before they become addictions, it often requires prolonged periods of abstinence, and any relapse can reignite the problem
But that's not what OP is trying to point out. It's the advertisements that he doesn't want to see and I think I also some of this problem from other people who like to block the gambling ads. It's actually a problem now in the internet world since advertising is where it gets money from. If people were able to block this kind of ads then the profits for those who make it and even Google (I think) will be lower.
It's actually a good idea and I do believe that the Browser owners should be the ones who are offering those types of services. Ad Blockers (maybe paid extension) will help a lot not just for gamblers who are trying to avoid it because of their addiction but also for parents or guardians who don't want their kids to witness this kind of nature of ads. Gambling and pornography. Because, let's face it, even with the free ad blockers that are being offered, there are still many that get through those blockers and pop out of our screens and browsers.
Another problem for gambling addicts who are trying to stop now is those vloggers who have gambling advertisements at the end of their clips.

Self-controlled is the only effective way to stop yourself from gambling completely. No matter how strongly a gambler is addicted to gambling, it is only possible to get out of gambling completely if he believes in himself and resolves to be free from all negative activities. But if self-restraint is not possible to get out of gambling then he must take motivational advice and talk to a good motivational consultant and then take effective measures.
No one can get rid of any addiction by self control alone. If a person becomes addicted to gambling and he wants to stop gambling completely then his family will be the most helpful for him, because in such a situation no one can stop any addiction without the help of family. When a gambler becomes addicted to gambling, the family has to bear the consequences of all his mistakes, so the family is the first to try to free him from this situation.

Yes, but the importance of self control is very important, if he does not have self control, then no motivation will be effective for him, he will go to a worse situation day by day.

But, if under different circumstances the gambler has no family, then how will he recover and be free from addiction?
Of course this also depends on how good the neighborhood people are. and the people in his circle are also the most important and determine whether he can change or not. Self-control is the first thing you need to realize to make him stop gambling too often. good steps also need to be taken to change his mindset, such as coming to a psychologist to ask what is happening to him and reveal that he cannot be separated from gambling.
It is very difficult for family or neighbors and the environment to influence change in people who are addicted to gambling. My friends and I once gave advice to people who were serious about gambling. until you see that the situation is in disarray and no change results, until you become a criminal you are not aware of yourself. unless psychologists have never seen those results. it is very difficult to stop brainwashed gambling addicted people

I don't know if this is really informative or helpful experience with my grandma, she really like gambling I'm not sure if she could be classified as "addict" but she could get violent and verbal abuse whenever she loss at gambling and would literally do it like it's part of her lifestyle. But we've decided to take a vacation like for months in the nature (beach) without the internet or any things just a wholesome moment for the family.

From the start she jokingly starting a game by card game of course we played with her but when she starting asking for bets we refused. For that whole month there's no gambling involved and she's starting to take care with us looking like a different person after we came home she jsut started hanging out with us and we ask her "aren't you gonna play gambling?" she'd just simply said "I rather spend my money to all you cuties." which makes me cry :,) I'm trying to point is maybe addicts just need a different environment where they can space themselves to toxic things that could destroy their life.
It seems like your grandmother has been mentally affected by gambling and I think it's unhealthy to the point of abuse. For me, that's someone who is addicted to your grandmother's gambling. Positive thinking gives your grandmother space to change things she doesn't want, hopefully your efforts to provide a different environment will have a positive impact on big changes

There is nothing different, everyone has bad habits and can reduce them without having to look at age status, after all, addiction lies in their mindset, because as far as I have seen from friends who have been addicts, what they say is because their mindset is obsessed with beating the dealer and trying to get big money, so they forget themselves when gambling and even then there is an age difference from my friends too and it is just as difficult.

So when people have become addicts and their habit of playing gambling will certainly be difficult to get rid of and stop, but the thing that can help is to reduce the habit first and then slowly change the mindset to think of gambling as a fun game not to make money, because with a mindset like that will help us be aware of not playing too deep.

Yes it will be useful to reduce the rate of losing or losing, but I think the temptation is definitely there in the mind, but well they will not be too reckless like people who are already addicted and have absolutely no limits. Yes that's right, too long playing gambling in my opinion is also quite boring especially with the bad spin in it, sometimes I like to feel that way, and besides that it's also bad as you said too long there is a very good chance that we will end up addicted without us realizing it, because maybe there are some who are different from my experience, if I'm too long it likes to get bored but some people may be very happy so that they end up addicted. Yes that's right, I think the best alternative is for us to try to keep ourselves busy, for example looking for other daily activities so that we indirectly forget about gambling, it is very possible and very possible if we really want to stop. It's very clear, no one is able to win more than they lose or the capital they have lost, even though they win but if calculated with the money they have lost, it is clear that it must be more the amount lost.
If this happens to people who are addicted to gambling, it seems like it takes a longer time because they have to really try to divert their thoughts and start doing other things accompanied by good self-control so that they don't think about gambling again. But if we haven't won yet, it can make us realize that we haven't had luck so it's better for us to stop for a while and do something else. And yes, there may be a feeling of boredom coming over us so that if we feel it, we can immediately stop so that we don't have the desire to keep trying to win the game. And keeping ourselves busy might help us to leave gambling and at least it can help us reduce the gambling activities we have been doing.

That's right, it's one of the things they can choose to minimize their losses a little bit, there's nothing wrong with them doing that, they can still gamble anyway but the difference is with a little budget, which is good. It's like this, they can use the money that would normally be for one deposit but now it will be useful for two deposits and they get two times to gamble but with a loss like the one time when they haven't reduced the budget. That's right, if they can't quit all at once then this is a great solution to quit slowly, give it a try.
The important thing is how we can reduce the amount of losses because it is worth doing so and so that we don't become addicted to continuing to gamble. And, with not too much money, it can satisfy us playing gambling, especially for those who don't chase any wins and only use gambling as entertainment. They will only play moderately and stay within the limit so that the amount they lose is not large. We have to reduce the money we spend on gambling so that we still have money to gamble another day and don't spend much money on the budget we have prepared.

Well although sometimes there are those who fail to resist the temptation, their mentality is not strong enough to withstand all the temptations that come to their minds so sometimes there are some of them who end up gambling again. But I still have to applaud them because at least they have done the best things for them even though they failed but they will definitely try again. Yes, it is true that if you are serious about quitting then the first thing is to increase your daily activities, occupy your time with more positive activities, do not let you have the slightest empty time there because obviously the feeling of wanting to gamble will definitely come, and also besides that reducing the budget is a good choice, you will not experience too much loss if you can reduce the budget in gambling. And also for the case of my friend now I am trying to help him, doing various ways so that his mind can recover and understand the true concept of gambling.

Yes, that's right, so the point is to reduce the budget for gambling and try to increase daily activities so that we will indirectly forget about gambling, as we know this feeling of gambling always comes when we have full time and expect to win even though it's just nonsense. Yes that's right, basically there is nothing better than to stop doing it, the future is more important.
It is normal if we fail to resist temptation because we are still humans who can be weak at any time. But we must keep trying to resist the temptations that arise so we don't return to gambling. We must be able to do our best and never give up if we fail because failure is a delayed success. And by increasing your daily activities, you can eliminate the desire to gamble until finally, you really don't think about gambling anymore and when that happens, you will see how much money you can save and not use for gambling. And in your friend's case, I think he will slowly recover and not think about gambling so that he can live a normal life like you and be healthier in his activities.

By reducing the budget for gambling, he can help reduce the possibility of losing from gambling so that he can still have his money. Increasing his daily activities will help him block thoughts that can lead him to gamble so he can forget about gambling and just focus on doing his daily activities. In that way, we can cure his addiction to gambling and maybe it won't take long as long as he continues to carry out his daily activities routinely.

It should start form the person itself, if he wanted to stop gambling. But also his family and support groups can also step up, but it has to begin with the person and then admit that he had gambling and then help them out.

Worst came to worst, the addicted gambler might lose everything in life, before he arrived to the realization that he/she is addicted and need to stop and turn his life around so that he will get back all. what he has lost, specially love ones and families.
right away, though maybe in some exemptions but with someone who already has an addiction inside, this kind of statement really needs hard stop. Something that can be done with the help of professionals and especially your love ones who will be there to help while you are in the process of trying to stop your bad gambling habits.

Once you are already done and manage to quit, the next thing to do is make sure that you'll not be influenced back, taking alternative activities to prevent you from going back.

Yes, that's right, family is very important to support someone to stop gambling, if only self-confidence, in my opinion, is not complete. If a gambling addict loses or wins, it is not only himself who is affected, but his beloved family also feels the impact.
Controlling self-control and controlling finances for gambling is the responsibility of a gambler, and if this method is carried out seriously and carefully, it is unlikely that he will lose.

I am of the opinion that since gambling sites are mostly online and some has adds that pops up as advert on visited site, one should be able to disable or change their browser settings  by blocking casino adds and as well disabling  gambling sites on their browser settings so as not to gain access to it anymore till the number of days they deem fit to their resolve. This was just a little tip I gave as a possible solution. I had to put it up here for further discussions so that the bigger community can see it as  well.

Well, I've read a lot about sports betting and it's actually the only type of betting I do often, so I can speak more about it with property.
I think that advertisements certainly contribute a lot to addiction, especially for new players to enter and many times they are not even old enough to bet.
Unfortunately, just blocking advertisements on websites will not have a positive effect, as they are on television, on billboards and in many public places... it's impossible not to see them.

I still believe that addiction must be fought in the psychology of each person.
You have to see betting as something fun, study the statistics of the game, watch the sports news and place your bet without fear of losing money, make a healthy and recreational meal, without the obligation to win money or recover what you have already lost.

In the "worst case", sports betting should be seen as a long-term investment, not a way to make money immediately and compulsively.

OP I believe many people got addicted to gambling as a result of the fact that they are chasing their losses. It is true that when one loses, the next thing they originally do is to try their possible best to recover all that they have lost and in so doing, they keep losing more and more compounding more recovery for themselves while playing and getting addicted to gambling.

In my own opinion sports betting is not an investment, but a game played for fun at leisure that is why it is advised that one gambles responsibly and with funds affordable to lose.

Lastly, advertisement is something every organisation does so therefore if gambling organisation does that, that is not a big deal as it is expected that they are doing that to promote their product  but it is your personal choice to allow the add pop up on your device or not. So it is left for you to decide whether to see or not to see it by fixing it up from your phone internet settings so as either to allow the add pop up or not.

GOD is TRUE
I have seen several topics here and other discussion thread where many people talked about gambling addiction. So many procedures been stated to follow sequentially to reduce the rate at which one frequently visit online gambling sites and possibly their application if they do have any of them.

I remember in one of the threads I raised up a point which was long hidden as the thread became too numerous and lengthy to continue the conversation on that topic. It was my opinion to add up in profering solutions to gambling addiction. I believe not too many people saw it to to say something about it so that is why I had to bring it up as a topic hear. I want to hear your opinion and ideas towards it.

Here is it;

If you feel or think here is not the right place for this you can say it. I am open to corrections as we all are here to learn.

In my opinion; Gambling is just like you trading crypto currency. The no 1 rule to become a successful gambler and not become addicted is to be disciplined. Without discipline; you can achieve nothing with Gambling and you would find it difficult to escape any form of addiction.

After working on discipline; then you should develop a gambling budget; with your disciplined mind you can be assured that you would not exceed your gambling budget.
Finally, fight desperation!

Indeed. The reason why there is an imposed age limit is to prevent the youngsters to fall into addiction at an early age. Gambling is addicting and can give troubles aside from relaxation and fun if it isn't well executed by the player. Hence, casinos limit the access to adults who can handle stress, sudden problems, and have the capacity to make good decisions without supervision. Once you became addicted, gambling addiction is challenging to treat. It even becomes more challenging if you aren't really willing and determined to change. Sure, there are many strategies to combat it, but the first step is one of the most difficult ones which is acceptance and then willingness to go through treatment and therapy to solve your issues about it.

in this aspect it is a little difficult to fight addiction but in the psychological aspect addiction can be fought with several ways to recover from addiction and of course you have to regularly fight the addiction to really not visit gambling to get rid of thoughts of gambling and that requires support from family or people around you.

regarding sports betting I think its just like betting on the lottery when I place a multi bet with several teams that I choose to get big odds so it does not require a large amount to bet on this bet because with a small amount you can get big results if all the teams we choose choose to win. so this method can help a little not to bet large amounts in just one match.

That's right and it's important that we have self-control there, it will be very useful and it's the only cure so that we don't get too down there. Yes I agree with you and it's a good option to choose rather than continue to spend a lot of time gambling it's better to find other activities that are more useful and it's a good alternative for most gamblers who may want to quit but don't know how. I think economic factors can also make them finally come to gamble, I have a colleague who can be said to be lower middle class and he said that his goal was to gamble to increase his pocket money, and I think this is an absurd statement, remember this is just about luck. Basically, winning has made them lose their mind, someone who has won one win then it is very likely that the next time they will sacrifice ten losses due to the belief that they will win again.

Yes they can reduce the rate of loss by reducing the amount of money they deposit. Basically I think there is no better option except to stop gambling with a very strong determination, because it is useless it will only make them not okay in the future.
And with good self-control, we can get through it and won't be tempted to return to gambling. We know that playing gambling for too long and too often can cause us to become addicted and over time, we can become gambling addicts that we might not even realize. If we can look for other entertainment alternatives besides gambling, I think we can reduce our time gambling and maybe we will forget about gambling without realizing it. That is because we have found things that can attract our attention and provide more entertainment than gambling. In your friend's case, I think he should be able to change his mindset about increasing his pocket money from gambling because he will not always be able to win from gambling. They will not suffer too much loss by reducing the amount they deposit. For example, if they play today with enough money and lose, the loss will not increase until they lose all their money. They can deposit another amount of money in the future to gamble but as long as they remember, the amount of money must remain limited.
That's right, self-control is the most important thing to stop someone from being addicted to gambling and if it is balanced with strong belief in oneself. And there is nothing wrong if someone listens to other people's advice for good and it will have a positive impact on him later.
However, on the other hand, if there is still a lot of gambling in his environment and his friends around him are also gambling, then it will be very difficult for him to stop gambling, he will even become more addicted to participating in gambling games in his environment and he will also be influenced to take part in activities carried out by his friends. her friend. .

Being confident and believing in yourself that you can stop your gambling habits will not suffice because it needs some work where you need to walk the talk to make it a reality because those things that has been mentioned above are just the recipe and not yet the product. It will take time like months or even a few years before we can say that a man has already changed and can now be trusted to be alone with any environment as he already learned how to control himself.

Indeed, it's not something that when you say it, you can do it right away, though maybe in some exemptions but with someone who already has an addiction inside, this kind of statement really needs hard stop. It won't be possible just that way, because the main way to stop being addicted to online gambling is with strong intention and determination.
Indeed, it seems that a strong intention and determination are essential. These fundamentals are what can make any method or technique effective in helping you overcome addiction or at least limiting the severity of it.

Addiction is one of the most challenging illnesses to conquer when tackled without external support. The individual suffering from it will inevitably experience distress as their cravings intensify and go unfulfilled. It requires at least the support of friends or close family to restrict access to gambling platforms, in addition to the aforementioned strong intention and determination.

A possible measure would be to cut their source of funds. When they don't have money to spend, that's when they would stop. They may commit crimes, or robbery in order to have funds but they'd find out they relaly will stop gambling when they are in prison.
You are right until the gambler is out of funds the gambler won't be able to stop gambling. The gambler may try to stop but within a short time, s/he will restart again. Even if s/he is out of funds may try to gamble by taking a loan from friends/family/bank. So, gambling can be stopped until there is a chance to manage a loan.

It won't be possible just that way, because the main way to stop being addicted to online gambling is with strong intention and determination. So, if you don't have the intention and determination to stop then believe me, again and again you will make a deposit and start gambling. Because of course, I believe that by having strong intentions and determination, at least no matter how much money you have, then it will not make you return to gambling. But yes, if your method is only to cut the budget but when the person is not disciplined and does not have good self control, then in the end the person will increase the budget higher to be able to continue betting.

If you feel or think here is not the right place for this you can say it. I am open to corrections as we all are here to learn.

Some people may agree with you to block all ads in the browser they use, but for people who are truly addicted to gambling, of course, they already have their own favorite sites.
When boredom appears in the free time they have, it is possible in their minds that they will try gambling again and try to find capital from anywhere to try their luck.
