Agreed, I turn on my wallet to stake ONCE every 5-6 days or so (min. 4 days). That seems to provide the highest coin maturity rate and largest payout. peace.

Is this coin still going strong? I'am considering to accept some different coins in my headshop and growshop. This one might be the one, but there is so many to choose from.

Let me Answer Your Questions:

It is not really true that only 9,5% of coins are staking.   
Potcoin has a Blocktime of 40 seconds.
Staking coins for he last 1000 Blocks is 9,5%.
1000Blocks * 40seconds = 11.11 hours
That means 9,5% of coins are staking the last 11,11hours...
So nearly 10% of coins belong to nodes that are connected 24/7

But the most People stake maybe once a week or even less. 
So POT is very active.

That is maybe true but Bittrex has over 90% of POT Trade Volume, so that only means there is enough liquidity on the exchange.

First things first, I represent a blockchain project focused on the cannabis industry, PUFFScoin (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-puffscoin-decentralized-applications-for-the-cannabis-industry-420-5114254), which will be publicly launching on April 20th. We have been developing our approach and ecosystem for about two years, having delayed launching last year within the flurry of ICOs. Much of our philosophy is that community should be larger than a single project. Within the first month of operation we will be launching our own white-label crypto-exchange platform that will focus on providing a trading space for "cryptocannabis" projects as well as other "green crypto". Anyhow, integration with other cryptocannabis projects has always been one of our top priorities, with one of our first priorities being to integrate available merchant solutions for marijuana related altcoins into our online storefront immediately after our own blockchain launches.

POTcoin was one of the first coins I ever bought, nearly 5 years ago... and the original vision was one that I could really sink my teeth into. BUT, in building research for an updated article on cryptocannabis for one of my own project's ancillary services, the reefer*review, i noted that development of POTcoin has all but died out, the developer hasnt been active here since december of last year and his last post here was a year before that. the roadmap of 2016 addressed the idea of transitioning to an ETH-type blockchain, to take advantage of smart contracts governing point of sale integration, product traceability and "seed" tokenization.

These are all similar to projects on the immediate dApp development roadmap for PUFFScoin, which is analgous to ETH, but with Core Development towards solving real issues in the cannabis industry. A project as storied as POTcoin deserves to find some sort of utility. Only 9.5% of circualting coins are presently staking, and over 37.5% of POTcoins minted are sitting dormant on Bittrex where the valuation continues to drop over every timely metric. I dont have any POTcoins, so I dont have any skin in the game, but in the interest of building community relations, and having no active developer to whom to write, I thot I'd simply post here and see what the general mood around the project is.

A transition (or bridged connection thru a smart contract governed 'cross-chain relay') wouldnt be overly difficult, and it would be interesting to integrate POT into a multi-vendor marketplace similar to OpenBazaar. A bridge contract could hold and escrow mainchain POTcoins and release equal or other metric multiples of POT tokens on the PUFFScoin blockchain, burning tokens when they are passed back to the main POTcoin blockchain. Id love to work with community members who would like to address this sort of progression and functionality, and help grow the cryptocannabis community as a whole. There are no bounties in real crypto. Its not raining money here 
Maybe someday some whales start something if the time is right. And the laws...
There are some POT faucets... but claiming faucets is not free money 
Same story like BTC, LTC but POW is over after 50% mined and now its POS.
So if you want POT buy it on an exchange or shapeshift it.

Nearly anyone with the skills could update the client so that it is not quarantined by AV.

Point is POT is a solid network without the devs, true to decentralized motto, and top10 of the POS-chains, plus awesome brand.

Thanks for your reply CryptoCanary. Still not working for me.
I have added to exception on the comodo firewall and to the avg antivirus but still the wallet doesnt want to start syncing.
I have even added to exception on windows firewall , just in case.
I have installed the Peercoin wallet which looks very similar and the peercoin wallet is syncing without any problem and i use Windows XP and the peercoin wallet seems much better.
I think the potcoin wallet is buggy and not improved , im waitin a reply from the developers of potcoin maybe they can help me otherwise if i dont get help or manage to run this wallet im gonna uninstall it and never store POT coin until i can afford to upgrade software and hardware to try one more time. The developers should improve the wallet and make it 100% compatible with all the OS systems.
Maybe they don't care about the potcoin anymore .

You should be able to find peers easily. Have a look at your network and specifically any firewall setting that is preventing your discovery.

just installed the wallet but is not syncing   ...0 connections.
If i visit https://chain.potcoin.com/ i see there is an error on the website, cant update from network too :

Can't connect to potcoind to get live updates from the p2p network. (Tried connecting to potcoind at 127.0.0.1:4200 and failed.)


I doubt thats because i havent encrypted the wallet yet, as long as the above mentioned website can't connect to potcoin network as well.
