Yup, totally agree. Quite an oddity. Nice to see things still running smoothly. Potcoin has done well even with multi's bouncing on it.

Multipools are a good sign we are doing something right  Wink

I saw that overnight.. seemed like something more than just fast blocks occured. My pool has solved back to back to back to back blocks, some within 1 second of eachother (most about 20 seconds apart) over the past few days and difficulty never did this. It jumped, but not like that. Could be wrong, but it sure seemed odd.

Not to mention the odds of finding that many blocks all within 180 seconds. I've been watching the nethashrate bobble the last couple of days, and it would take more than a multipool to do that.

Well, things seem back on track.

Average Block time is 40 seconds. 1 second block times are certainly possible, albeit unlikely that several would occur in a row. But certainly possible.

The fact that they were confirmed should be enough to chalk it up to odd coincidence. If somebody was messing with the chain and attempting to cause harm we wouldn't know about it until the chain was actually forked. We would all just continue on the wrong chain unknowingly. Since the blocks did confirm and have not been orphaned after they were confirmed (sure sign of something amiss...) then I think its safe to assume things are running fine.

anyone know what happened over 4/20? good bad ugly?

Price shot up on the 19th, then went right back down on 4/20. Dopecoin shot up like crazy too, don't think it has gone back down all the way like potcoin did. And before you all jump up my ass, I'm not a dopecoin user/holder or anything I'm just reporting the facts.

yep but I mean with regards to the atm's etc etc? I saw the dope guys were trying to stick their flyers all over the pot atms! hopefully the dev is quiet because he has something up his sleeve! and dope is back down! im holding both pot and dope! wish there was away to combine the 2! Cheesy

OK this is my theory, looking at my potcoind logs at around 11:20GMT we have 30 blocks all accepted within 3 mins, the result of that knocked the diff way up ..... and we are still waiting for it to recover.

Blocks are now being acepted again, my pool ( https://pot.suremine.com ) has just processed a block. I think the difficulty may rise again as I saw a whole bunch of blocks get processed at roughly the same time, but hopefully things should start settling down again.

A multipool may have jumped onto Pot briefly, Solved a bunch of a blocks and jumped off when KGW kicked in. That would cause the difficulty to jump up briefly

look at the pic I took!

when did they implement KGW? where is the warning? Is there another thread, a post or some other notification of the update occurring?

way back in the thread somewhere
there was a 2 day warning, it was basically an emergency immediate fix or further warning may have been given.

I was told like this is it lil bit ago:

Sta-POT (7 minutes ago):
An orphan is when someone on the network finds the block at exactly the same time, or I should say a few milliseconds faster than us...
Sta-POT (6 minutes ago):
so it becomes orphan for us and confirmed for them.

The unconfirmed should get confirmed, its just that the difficulty is high so blocks are taking longer and confirmation are linked to a number of blocks.

Can anyone verify that? I could be wrong

As for the orphaned, I think they are just orphaned.

See here:i can't explain it and am trying to figure out why this is
all block after orphaned are unconfirmed and why they get orphaned?
