I do believe you can make more money by running a casino than by short changing investors.  Smiley

It's hard. If the house is taking 10% of profits, and profits are 1% of turnover, and the bankroll turns over once per day, then it takes 1000 days for the house to make as much as is in the bankroll, on average.

The bankroll probably doesn't turn over once per day, so it takes more than 3 years of running the site to make what you said true.

It's much quicker and easier to just run off with the bankroll, rather than trying to make the same amount of coins legitimately. I guess this is why so many investment casinos end up turning into scams.

At Just-Dice I could have stolen over 60k BTC from investors. Instead I ran it honestly. The site made 19k BTC in profit, and I took around 2k BTC in commission.

Am I an idiot for running it honestly? It wasn't the most profitable way of running it; that's for sure.

That's one big difference between the online and offline worlds.
A scam in the offline world would probably not be worth it, as you would ruin your reputation and not be able to earn any more money. People might prefer to slog it out for 3 or more years.

In the online world, people take the money and disappear, only to appear in a few days under a different identity.

That is a bit sad to see that site owners have such a huge incentive to scam.
Running JD for a year has only brought you 2k while scamming everyone could have brought you 60k from investors and more from gamblers' account balance.

Really appreciate what you have done, doog. Smiley

There is also the other incentive NOT to scam. And that is to NOT always be looking over your shoulder, or answering to a much higher authority than any known to mortal man (if you believe in a supreme being, or supreme beings). I mean, if you're really planning to do something bad, if you are a smart criminal, you would take care of all the possible exits, and block all possible methods to track you down.

But can you ever be 100% sure of all that? And even if you are, is it possible you may have missed something?

You may not believe in God, you may not believe in Karma, but you better believe there will be some very angry people, and those angry people believe that your life is not worth more than 60k BTC. Or 2k BTC. Or whatever amount you hold.

And one of them is going to get very lucky when they find you.

I'd rather not be thinking about that when I do run my own site. So dooglus is actually a good example to follow. (And when I do exit the scene, it will be after I've returned everyone's funds.)

Honesty is the best policy.

Good PR is also a good idea.

the site profit is realy high , gratz to the investors Cheesy

damn, another 40+BTC profit lol. grats to the investors
I get this feeling that enza - not me , is the owner- Dean Nolan losing on purpose to the site to attract new investors. He is continuously betting on bad odds and has lost 30 coins since 2 days and is an attempt to get new investors in who want to profit from him. He will turn the tide soon enough and start winning once investors come in. He also stops betting when no moderators are there on the site . Site owner was rude to me when I joined. Sad site.

The tide can always turn. Investors take that into account when investing.

I know what you mean, but I don't think you're right re. your "attempt to get new investors" theory.

The site owner is often quite rude, which is a big part of why his site isn't very popular in my opinion. I don't think he's dishonest, I just don't think he's very suited to being a customer-facing representative of his site. The site would probably do a lot better if he employed somebody with the relevant skills to interact with his customers.

PRCDice still number 1 in house-investments sites rank:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/after-1-year-of-diversified-bitcoin-dice-house-bank-investment-we-lost-3246-826466

On the 1st of October 2014 we invested ฿1 in the house bank of the top 9 bitcoin gambling investments sites

This is the performance as of the 30th of October 2014

We will report and compare the performance of those investments as well as a key site stat that you won’t find anywhere else. Expected annual return is based on the investors edge and how often the house bank is turned over. How many times the bank is turned over per year multiplied by the edge is the expected annual return.

You didn't answer the question. If there's nothing wrong with the game, and there's nothing wrong with the hosting, why was it down for hours?
It's not like JD never went down

Are you really so delusional that you don't understand how you show yourself to potential players and investors with these ad hominem attacks in response to questions you don't like?

Rhetorical question by the way. Don't bother.

He will obviously won't bother, as long as people are investing and playing on the site.
And he still needs to work on PR. Just saw this in chat, Dean throwing accusations on Bay about mentioning wtfwtfwtf is Baro. lol

00:45: wtfwtfwtf: enjoy the 1 btc user who hack my account! and fuck you!
00:45: wtfwtfwtf: Thanks @Dean for your help
00:46: 1BayAreaCoins: wow aren't you Baro from Ninja?
00:46: 1BayAreaCoins: Someone hacked you?! You've made bots n such too
00:46: Dean Nolan: so bay you created that fake account on btctalk to post that too?
00:46: 1BayAreaCoins: ??
00:46: 1BayAreaCoins: No

It happens, and it's my fault.

It's not like JD never went down, a quick Google search comes up with quite a lot of threads e.g.
...
Sorry for the downtime.  I caught a few hours' sleep and it looks like the server took a nap too.  It has happened twice before, and I don't know what triggers it.
...

That was 2 weeks after launch and I quickly fixed the problem. That's not really comparable with PRC's uptime. PRCdice was down for over 2 days in September alone while you fixed a bug with the investment code. I don't know how you can claim 99% uptime when you're down 2 days out of 30... 99% uptime means you only get 3.6 days of downtime per year, and since you've been up less than 6 months you'd need less than 2 days of downtime total to reach your 99% target uptime.

I know your being anal as usual
...
I guess you still just love trolling.
...

You just can't help yourself can you? I'm out of here.

"quite a lot of threads e.g."
That meant only one of the examples of all the posts I found doing a quick search. There were more recent ones as I mentioned in my post.

You say I can't help myself. I replied to all your posts no problem but you kept nit picking and looking for an excuse to attack as you always do.

BAC you're a monster. Created a time machine to travel to September to create a sock account to post something on BCT to displease Dean. You gotta teach us that trick.

In the future it only cost 10,000 Huntercoins to time travel back in time up to 1 year Tongue
