I this agree with the post above me, I don't think arsenal tried to win that game, I watch the match and first half both teams played very poorly, the chances Arsenal had were never a serious threat to Liverpool defense in any way. I think it was generally a boring match and both teams did not give it their all, Liverpool had some luck to end up winners in the end.

If the players played poorly, it doesn't mean they have no intention to win the game/match. Arsenal players couldn't make a very serious threat, it is probably caused by the strong defense of Liverpool. Liverpool defenders tried to give no chance for Arsenal players to get good opportunities in scoring goals. We must appreciate what have done by Liverpool defenders, they were able to make Arsenal attackers feel frustrated.
The own goal was a lucky goal. But the second goal was a goal made by their efforts. You can't claim Liverpool won the game because of the luck factor.
Arsenal tried their best to win the match but their best was simply not enough to penetrate Liverpool’s defense. Arsenal wanted to win because i could see the zeal in them to score but their attack was not as sharp as they used to be, it seems like Saka has lost his confidence and everything seems not to be going his way, without Saka's magic i can say Arsenal will be nowhere to be found because Matinelli can hardly create something for the club and their attack will be weak without any threat.
Liverpool defense was rock solid even without Van Djik, Konate was outstanding and didn’t give any room for Arsenal to penetrate them. I think overall Liverpool was more threatening with the counter attacking style and that was what led them into winning the match.
Liverpool credentials for the league is going to be texted for the next one month. Salah has been one of their most performing player and his absence is going to affect the team performance, but I know Klopp is a good manager who can look for an alternative for the team to keep winning games in Salah's absence.
Yeah at least that's what we think but after watching how Liverpool beat Arsenal a few days ago in the FA Cup match then we can conclude that Klopp already has another strategy when playing without Mo Salah and it's quite effective. They did really struggle converting chances as they had a whopping 33 shots taken and 14 of them were on target. They managed to score only 2 out of those 14. Arsenal were desperate even before this match started because they continued to get bad results in the previous match. From unexpected defeats to the previous draw against Liverpool in the EPL also haunted them. I think Mikel Arteta failed to raise the motivation of his players and here Jurgen Kloop is better prepared for the rematch against Arsenal in the FA Cup. Of course, the first goal was Arsenal's mistake and it was also luck for Liverpool, but Liverpool didn't rely on that goal alone because in fact Liverpool kept adding to their goals, making it increasingly difficult for Arsenal to equalize.

There is a decline in Arsenal, I agree. I think the reason for this decline is the bad form. They were very good in the league, but their morale must have been destroyed because they suffered consecutive defeats. Even though the cup match was considered unimportant, I think they could have taken the match more seriously when the opponent was Liverpool. Mo Salah will prefer to win the AFCON with Egypt than the premier League with Liverpool. Mo Salah has been unlucky at AFCON, he hasn't won it despite been the best player in Africa and having a good teammate. They have reach some finals but always unlucky and Mo Salah wouldn't want to return soon
Liverpool can play well and win without Mo Salah. He's their best goal scorer but he's not a striker. Mo Salah is a winger and there are other good players that can play his position, Liverpool proved it against Arsenal in the FA cup by winning and knocking them out of the tournament.
J.Klopp is an experienced coach and he also has alot of players that he can rotate to bring victory to his team. Other premier league clubs are losing players for AFCON therefore other teams won't be playing at their peak and this give chance for any team to win.
The players going to play AFCON aren't going away for a long time so they won't be missing alot if their teams can hold on until they're back to continue from where they stopped to keep carrying their teams and winning games for them.

It is unfortunate Arsenal are involuntarily dropping from the EPL title race following their three consecutive games that they dropped points by losing to Westham, Fulham and drawing against Liverpool giving Liverpool a place at the top of the table.
