Guys, have you got Manchester United at standings?
We've heard quite a few negative comments about Ten Hag's performance so far, so how confident are you about the possibility of his contract being maintained until the end of the season?

If Manchester United's performance doesn't improve in the next game, I don't think he will spend the first half of the season as coach. Dismissals may need to be taken and management must be firm, it will help the team not collapse.

Source has it that the Manchester united board will be sitting this Tuesday for a meeting and Erik Ten Hag's future does also top the agenda for that meeting. Maybe after that meeting his future with the club will be determined, but am guessing he might  still be giving sometime more base on his performance during the weekend against Aston villa which shows some lanky improvement of light at the end of the tunnel kind of.

Can't really get my hands on the link to that story right now but surely when I do I'll make it available here ASAP.

Chelsea drew their last match. Aston Villa, on the other hand, have drawn their last two matches. And that's why these two teams are lagging behind. Personally I think these two teams will not be able to compete for the title. But even then, if Chelsea and Aston Villa can strengthen their defense, then maybe these two teams can compete for the title. But it is less likely.

I consider Liverpool as the favorite to win the title so far. Because Liverpool's defense is very strong this season. Liverpool conceded only 2 goals in 7 matches. Even a strong team like Manchester City conceded 8 goals in 7 matches.
Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal deserve to be called the favorites this season, Chelsea and Aston Villa seem to only be able to enliven the top four, not become title contenders. However, with the number of matches still ahead, the chances of each contestant can still change, it is difficult to predict the increase and decrease in a team performance. Player injury factors and a tight match schedule will usually affect the consistency of each team. Liverpool, coached by Arne Slot, has so far been the team that has conceded the fewest goals, their front line is also quite productive. Liverpool needs to maintain this level so that they can stay on the right track, Manchester City and Arsenal now have serious competitors.

Aston Villa vs Manchester United 0-0

The umpteenth draw for Man United, although a draw still gets at least 1 point, but in my opinion it is not the expected result for a club that has experienced 3 defeats from 7 matches, as a result Man United has only collected 8 points and is quite far behind the clubs in the top 5. If they continue to perform like this, how can this club compete with the top clubs in the EPL?

Troll football posted this image on their X page and I think it’s a very funny way to illustrate how bad this United manager has been for the club. Anyone saying Erik Ten Hag should be given more time because he got a point is not a fan of Manchester United. The fact Manchester United fans are happy to take a draw against Aston Villa tells you how bad this team has become.
Lol this picture is really funny. Giving Ten Hag more time is just wasting the precious time of the club, is just like managing a bad situation. I saw the club management board in attendance during that Aston villa encounter, I know they won't be impressed with the performance but they should realise that Aston villa too are strong opponent, so the draw was a fair share. I feel the board is already chopping for Ten Hag's replacement, because I've been reading about speculations where Manchester United are approaching different coaches for the job, it won't be long before they will show Erik Ten Hag the exit door.
I am a Manchester United fan, but I had no option than to laugh out after seeing this picture. I mean other clubs in England are guarding Manchester United coach so that he would not be sacked by the management. If he is sacked, they might find it difficult getting a win against Manchester United. So, it is obvious that Erik10 is doing bonanza with Manchester United and I am even more surprised that Manchester United management is not surprised by the position they currently occupy in the table.

Manchester United next fixture is Brentford. Now, with the state of the club, it is difficult to predict who they can win or who they cannot win. Every team in EPL is a threat to Manchester United.

I agree with your first point, Chelsea and Aston Villa cannot compete for the title this season, but maybe they can increase the competition and become title contenders with their performance starting to improve.

Chelsea is starting to aim for more wins in each match, while they are still not stable. Chelsea's goal productivity is starting to improve although I would prefer to see them play stronger on all linea. The defense is not too bad, but if Chelsea can strengthen the defense, then the chances of losing are somewhat reduced. Being in 4th place in the standings is certainly good for Chelsea, but they are prone to slipping because of their unstable performance. Aston Villa threatens because they have the same points, but Aston Villa is also not too different from Chelsea.
There's nothing concerning this season, we know how the English Premier League end. Last season, watching Arsenal bottling the league for the second time for Manchester City was outrageous and this season, there's whole entirely new pressing pattern for Gunners. Mikel Arteta and Pep Guardiola will eventually dominate the current league as they've started ruling their lane. The EPL is very fierce with competitive clubs seeking for major titles. Our concerns about Chelsea and Aston Villa this season, they will contend for the top four this season but I don't see them winning the league because they're not yet in that prime form. The Blues headcoach, Enzo Maresca working on his tactics to work for the club. Chelsea failed to win Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge, what's it cause? Aston Villa headcoach, Unai Emery knows his spot and weakness, he will work on fixing that and he's trembling for bigger chances.

Its not ideal to give more time to someone who has not shown readiness to improve his patern of play, Eric Ten Hag is not ready to make some correction, so I think allowing him to continue managing the team will portrays more danger to the club, if really they are shopping for his replacement as you said, they should be fast about it before is too late, he seems like someone who doesn't want to change, he is making everything look like Manchester United is not contending for the English premier League and it's bad for a reputable club like Manchester United, they got history to protect but if they continue with the kind of manager it wouldn't be possible for them to recover from where they are currently sitting in the league table, its really necessary for Erik Ten Hag to go, though am not judging him with the recent match they played with Aston Villa because Aston Villa is not an easy crack but with other matches he has lead his team to play, i am waiting for Manchester united to return to the competitive football of the English premiership in other to brighten the faces of the fans and return the glory of club as it was earlier.

Having a team at the top means nothing at this early stages of the season, usually teams that are at the top would be way too close to other teams on the points and that means with one lost game they could drop down. Which is the case here, Liverpool is at 18 points, but we have City and Arsenal at 17 points following them, so if Liverpool ever loses any games, or even get a draw, then the other two could win and get the top position.

The real question is, will Liverpool get this Slotball method going very easily like they have shown so far and will they be able to get a good points lead. If they are leading by 5 or more points eventually, that would be good enough, but if they can't get that then it will be a trouble and won't be easy situation at all. I believe the best thing to do would be just making sure that we are going to bet on Liverpool aside from big games, because they look like they beat smaller teams quite easily this season so far.

Ratcliffe ‘wants’ Ten Hag sack at Man Utd as ex-caretaker boss tipped to return amid conflicting reports

There are conflicting reports surrounding the future of Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag, with one journalist claiming Sir Jim Ratcliffe is pushing to swing the axe and suggesting Michael Carrick might return to Old Trafford.

Earlier on Monday, ESPN reporter Rob Dawson stated that ‘Man Utd don’t really want to sack Ten Hag’ as it would be ’embarrassing’ for them after deciding to stick with the Dutchman over the summer. But there will clearly be conversations going on at Man Utd during the international break as the team has suffered frustrating results against Liverpool, Crystal Palace, FC Twente, Tottenham Hotspur and Porto recently.

According to The United Stand journalist Sam C, who has been writing on X (formerly known as Twitter), Man Utd part-owner Ratcliffe ‘wants change’ at managerial level.

The British billionaire has apparently decided ‘enough is enough’, which suggests that Ten Hag is under immediate risk of being sacked, though ‘no final decision’ has been made yet.

In a separate post, the Man Utd reporter adds that legendary former midfielder Carrick is an option to return to the club in a coaching capacity.

What I meant was he should play with players like Ronaldo, they both have almost the same thing in common like if things doesn't go their way they start playing selfish football. Everything should be about them, saying this not because of hate or whatever, don't get me wrong but that's how I picture Madueke and Ronaldo when they start playing selfish football.
I agree with you, Madueke won't last long as a Chelsea player, he'd like to be at a place where he can be seen as the key man, without him the team can't perform. For him to be a Chelsea legend, it won't happen even if he stays at Chelsea for a long period of time, the man lacks patience that's why he's always desperate to do something everyone would applaud him and it makes him miss simple chances he's suppose to convert.
I don't see any similarities between the two players and I think that's a bit of a stretch. Many players don't like being on the bench and they need more opportunities to prove their quality on the pitch, so the player you are referring to is also one of the players who hopes to appear regularly at Chelsea.

There are only a few players who are comfortable being in the same place even though they don't get many opportunities to appear, while others will complain and ask to move clubs. Noni Madueke has performed well so far in his 6 appearances, of course if his goal statistics are compared to last season. Noni Madueke is a player who has a great future, so I think he won't be at all comfortable not getting more opportunities.

Let's forget about the similarities that's if you feel they (Ronaldo and Madueke) don't have any, in terms of being selfish. Remember when Pochettino was in charge of Chelsea, Madueke was always on the bench, he sometimes doesn't start, like he's not a regular starter and we find it hard to see those selfish kind of play because he (Madueke) spends most of the time sitting on the bench. He cried out loud seeking for more playing time and now he has the opportunity to play till full time in some games and what is he now doing?  Playing for himself, the selfishness has grown to that level that when he scores you can see him being proud of himself like it will get into his head, to me he deserves to be on the bench.
Is like you're not getting the message, I know his performance has been brilliant to you but not all the fans or football lovers, what I'm saying is that this guys wants to be the headline of Chelsea and that's why he need to do something people will talk about, remember when he was dragging the penalty kick with Palmer last season? Use that to clear what I'm saying.
I said before that he's not a team player but a player who chooses to play for himself. If you're the coach would you like to accommodate that kind of player with such attitude? I guess your answer should be no, so that's what I'm saying about this guy, to me I feel Enzo Maresca need to talk some sense into him and start him from the bench for a start and see how the game flow without him.

That's right, the draw achieved by Manchester United last night was a satisfying result at least they did not get a defeat sharing the results is good for both of them, because it is equally beneficial for both of them but not for Ten Hag who actually failed to bring Manchester United back to its glory, but all of that was far from the expectations that Ten Hag hoped for, several ranks of Manchester United owners were present to watch the match and at the same time monitor Ten Hag so that the management could possibly make a decision for Ten Hag's future in handling Manchester United.
Yes but the way they are losing matches and drawing matches is not correct. If you look at some of their match records, they have 3 wins, 3 losses and 4 draws. If we look at Aston Villa's record, they have only drawn 2 matches And the rest won. A team's failure happens when they don't work hard and play well. If any team failed in this match they would have lost the match, with Ten Hague pinning their hopes on Manchester United but their record is very poor.  Because of which I think their position is getting worse. But , if they work hard and win a few matches, they can be a good team.

Chelsea and Aston Villa may be in good form and improving their standings positions, but it feels as if they are not ready to compete for the title. Reason being, consistency is still the main problem for these two teams, and without stability, how can they compete with the other big teams?

On the other hand, Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool are some teams that continue to prove to us that they deserve the title. With solid squads, experienced coaches, and most of all, a winning mentality. Always competing at the top. It’s very tight between the three of them since the difference in points is very minimal. Now even rising to the top Liverpool, with Arsenal and City always looming; this season is very difficult who will emerge as champions.

Indeed the English Premier League is very competitive unlike some leagues that are farmers leagues. On several occasions we have seen more than two teams competing for the EPL trophy. If you look at the league table this now you will see the tight spacing between the first 5 clubs. Chelsea and Aston Villa had the chance to close up the gap between 4th position and the top three but drew taking home one point each. It looks like Liverpool and Chelsea are joining the title race this season, this should be very interesting.
All the teams currently in the top 5 rankings look very strong. And they are by far the most consistent of any team. And yes, there is no doubt that they will be the ones fighting for the title this season. But for me, the ones with the best chance of fighting for the title will still be the same as the previous season, namely Man City, Liverpool and Arsenal. Because in the end these 3 teams managed to become the most competitive teams until the end of last season. Man City became champions again last season. but I'm not sure about this season even though Haaland looks to be more productive at the moment. But Chelsea and Aston Villa are also fighting well and it is possible that these two teams will surprise everyone by continuing to get positive results throughout this season.

There is no doubt that Chelsea and Aston Villa, who are fourth and fifth in the points table, are doing well. However, these two teams will not compete for the title. I would say that these two teams do not have the ability to become Premier League champions yet. The overall performance of these two teams is still erratic.

However, Arsenal, City and Liverpool will continue to fight for the title at the end of the season. These three teams have great chances to win the title. And they each have strong squads and experienced coaches. So it is not possible to predict which team will be the Premier League champions this year. Liverpool are top of the table. However, Liverpool is ahead of Arsenal and City by only 1 point.

The strength of Aston Villa and Chelsea is still not comparable to the strength of the current top three teams, namely Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool. And yes, the strongest candidate in the race for the title looks like it will still be the same as the previous season. But it is quite difficult to choose which team among the three teams will become champions this season. We have to look at this season until more than the middle of the season or even have to look at the end of the season like last season. Where we saw that Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City had the same opportunities last season before 2 weeks at the end of last season. Something similar could happen, namely intense competition could occur again until the end of the season. And regarding Chelsea and Aston Villa we cannot underestimate them. because surprises could happen this season. Considering that it has been a long time since there have been any surprising results this season. The last time there was a surprising result in the Premier League was when Leicester City became champions in the 2015-16 season. And that was quite a long time ago.

You are right that while Aston Villa and Chelsea can be in the top 5 of the table, they are not as strong as Liverpool or City. The performance of both these teams is relatively erratic. So these two teams are not favorites to win the title. The battle for the title will essentially be between City, Liverpool and Arsenal.

Last season we saw Arsenal and City battle it out for the title. The two teams continued to fight for the title till the last match of the season. The season was also quite competitive. However, the Liverpool team was a bit behind in the previous season. However, Liverpool are in a very good position this season. The team is strong both in attack and defense. So far, the Liverpool team has managed to occupy the top spot in the table.

Manchester city is still everyone’s favorite to win the league but I think the injury to both De Bruyne and Rodri seems to be affecting them and the odds for them to do a fifth in a row is actually getting thin. Against Fulham they actually were very lucky to win if not for Adama miss chances. My favourite to win aside them now is the Gunners I think a third time luck will shine on then if you ask me. Defensively Arsenal are the best team in the league and That’s what wins you the league. As for Liverpool I still have an iota of doubt as they haven’t face any challenge yet and I want to see their reaction against a big team before I judge them

Now I think both Chelsea and Aston Villa are just a little bit not up their yet and even Chelsea Enzo Maresca knows this but both teams are definitely in good form that I see them playing in the next season champions league, for now this table is just tight and no too clear predictions will be made or accurate but when we get to half of the season as in the winter we will know the pretenders and the contenders
You are right. Towards the middle of the season things will start to look clearer. namely between which team is truly the favorite and which team is just lucky at the start and starts to get worse towards the middle of the season. So we really have to be patient before making a more accurate assessment until the middle of the season. And Arsenal is still one of the strongest teams defensively. but unfortunately they are not as productive as Man City in scoring goals.

And about Liverpool I think you are right. We still cannot make a more definite assessment of this team before this team actually faces other strong teams. Liverpool has faced Man Utd this season but we know that Man Utd this season is in quite poor condition. So it still cannot be considered a strong team on par with Liverpool, Arsenal or Man City. It looks like we have to wait until Liverpool gets a stronger opponent than their previous opponents.

Arsenal struggled in the game against Southampton because Arteta decided to do some experimenting with his starting lineup. Thomas Partey was positioned in right back and that decision had an impact on their performance in the first half. If Arteta had played his regular starting eleven, Arsenal would have easily gotten the goals. Saka has been on a different level since wearing the Captain band. Kai Harvertz keeps improving game after game, I just love the connection within the squad.

Arteta have said that Kai Havertz just needs to be loved and he should feel he feels loved and that’s all to make him perform well in the pitch. I think he’s getting all the love from the players and team management and that has improved his performance greatly in the pitch. He is not even a second option player at Arsenal now, he needs to start every of their match if they really want to win the match. Bukayo Saka continues to be great in all games and with this consistency that Arsenal has, they can be able to win something big at the end of the season. Good start of the season and I hope they continue in this form till the end of the season.

Manchester City’s injury crisis will really affect them and for them to be on a winning streak from now is something I don’t think it’s going to happen. They been great from the start of the season and every match they’ve played since they got some major players not in the field due to injury has been a bad outing for them. They struggle in those games to win. This is the time for other major teams that are wanting to contend for the league title to take advantage and win as many matches as possible. Manchester City always surprise us in the end and I’m thinking same can still happen this season if we’re not careful.

I had the distinct feeling that Man UTD will hold Aston Villa to a draw. It's like a pattern; whenever Erik's future gets threatened as coach of the club and the management gives him ultimatums, you'd find him picking up and righting his wrongs because on a normal day, Man UTD weren't supposed to hold Aston Villa down being as they haven't been performing greatly.
Check the two games he was given to deliver else he'd be sacked and you'd notice he gave them something to relax a bit about. Yes, it's not three points but at least it's better than a loss on the road and being that their away form haven't been impressive of late, getting a point from a club that has enough confidence and ball control is something to be happy over.
It is not a proud achievement for Man United just because they managed to hold Aston Villa to a draw, especially since both teams failed to score a single goal in the match, previously Ten Hag said he had to give him time so that the team he coached would run as desired
but until the 7th week of the Premier League there has been no evidence that he has managed to show furthermore in this match MU's performance did not impress the players as if they had no enthusiasm in playing, small mistakes were often made, is this the fault of the players or the coach?
what is clear is that the ultimatum given by MU management to Ten Hag must be continued, the owner has spent too much money but minimal achievements.
And you think the management are happy with the results? Heck, if not for the win they got at Fulham and Southampton, what other win can they boast of? Ten Hag knows he's not doing so well and if he can minimize the way he talks so much and instead shows working, it would be much appreciated. At the moment any club that meets them have the belief that they can be beaten because by the time you break their very weak defense, it's finished and it's as if the players are just doing what they are doing so they can receive their pay at the end of the week and I won't blame them because you can't put in your hundred percent best when the coach isn't giving you the necessary encouragement needed.
