Since Antonio Conte joined the team as the new coach, Tottenham haven't lost any game in the Premier League. They got two draws and three wins. The draws were against Everton away (0-0) and Liverpool home (2-2). Their performance has increased a lot recently. They don't play like they are scared of losing anymore. They are starting to play like they should. And if they manage to keep this up for a long time, we might see Tottenham ending the season at a really decent position.
In a very tight schedule, things are going to get really worse in case we see many postponements again. This will most probably cause the season to end on a later date in the next summer. And players would have much less time to rest and get rid of the high stress of the past season. The biggest way to prevent the situation from getting much more serious is being vaccinated. So I hope that the players who have been obstinate about not taking the jab take it finally and contribute positively to this situation.
I am not entirely sure if it can go on like this. The covid cases seems to be resulting with a lot of postponed matches and with the games getting closer and closer to each other, it will be al ot more games being postponed all together as well. Like for example if you have one game on 1st, then another at 8th and another at 15th, when a problem happens at third, you can still play at 15th whereas when there are games at 1st 4th and 8th and 12th and 16th, you gotta postpone at least 3 games in that case.This is why I am guessing that there will be more and more games will end up getting postponed. Hopefully we will see these covid numbers drop once again, doesn't look like it is going to happen anytime soon and this new variant will cause it to keep going up. I guess we are going to live that bad period all over again if players keep getting positive results.
It was really satisfying to see Harry Kane scoring his first goal in the Premier League after Conte's starting his job here. He needed to score so bad as he got only one goal in the league before this match. And actually, he could have scored one or two more goals if he benefited from the critical chances well. Tottenham can be happy about stealing a point from this Liverpool. In the end, they played against one of the most solid teams of the season.

Kane so far has never played as well as he used to be before the summer drama. After that transfer drama, Kane struggles to play better in Tottenham. Previously, I think it is problem from lack of training in summer but it seems Kane have more other problems. Son still be the best player in Tottenham and he has big contributions: goals, assists, and tactic operations.

Because without these two players, Tottenham cannot rely on any other player to score goals. Son's role is a lot like Ronaldo's. He can play well and score goals when the team needs him. I would compare Kane to Benzema, who is a goal machine.
After arrival of Conte few good things happening for Tottenham, and now they are playing with new energy which is alarming for few teams which are fighting hard for remaining spot for Champions League as top 3 already booked. This new fight will increase some good entertainment, but now Covid-19 is very serious issue because if authorities unable to control this then surely we are heading for another suspension or delay. They need some stick rules and if they want then matches behind closed doors are also OK because fans need continuation of this League instead of suspension or delay.
There will not be suspension as the previous season but delaying few games is possible unless everyone got sick at the same time. Conte joining the team was associated with an improvement of the results of Spurs but I assume that resting more than the other teams, since Spurs didn't play in the last two rounds, could have an impact also. Kane and Son scoring at the same match was kinda rare these days also.
So far their games up to mid-January are quite easy then they will face Arsenal and Chelsea so until then we cannot judge Conte effect imo.

Yeah Spurs were good but honestly it was Liverpool without Van Dijk is what allowed Spurs to put much pressure. There were many chances for Spurs but they failed to make most of it and Liverpool took their chance well and but Spurs levelled it right back. Honestly it would have been much more hard for Spurs to score if Van Dijk would have been there. Though Tottenham and Liverpool are in different position in the table, their performance in the recent 5 matches have been so good. Even though Tottenham is at 7th position, it equally challenged Liverpool in yesterday's match with 2:0. If Tottenham keeps up their best performance and wins its game against West Ham on 23rd, it will move to 5th position for sure.
In yesterday match once I was feeling Tottenham going to win as they were very good and Liverpool without their main player Van Dijk were not good as they need to be on this stage and against team like Tottenham which is already doing very good in last few matches.
The absence of Van Dijk gave Tottenham more space to compromise weakeness in Liverpool's defense but they failed to score more than 2 goals. Liverpool managed to score 2 goals and end the match with 1 point without Van Dijk. Good enough for The Kop but not for Tottenham because they lost 2 points and are falling behind Arsenal in top 4 racing.Quote

Please don't think if Liverpool have Van Dijk they can restrict Tottenham better. They had big lost even with Van Dijk and remember that Van Dijk is not in his best after recover from a serious injury last season.A draw is fair for two teams and I see they made a very exciting match that deserves as a Superb Sunday in Premier League.
The best chance would still be at Tottenham but it still failed and it wasn't as easy as imagined but SON failed to outwit the Liverpool goalkeeper so the ball was easily overturned.

livepool was playing very poorly on defense, making mistakes that were not normal for liverpool to commit, it seemed that yesterday Manchester united had lent livepool all the bad defensive strategy, it's not as if tottenham were very strong, tottenham was taking advantage of an extremely weak defense that liverpool had, just see that even liverpool's goalkeeper was making some strange mistakes

Tottenham created lot of chances to score, yes but they can not win the match, it's bad for them. However, to be fair, they were very luckily because Kane were not sent off after his dangerous foul in first half. In the second half, Liverpool lost one player because of a same foul. Kane got advantage of his captain band in England squad in this case. Another point loss from Chelsea. The match with Wolverhampton ended in a goalless draw. Liverpool drew 2-2 with Tottenham. Robertson was left out of the game with a red card. Manchester City beat Newcastle United 4-0. With this result, City increased the points gap with Liverpool to 3 points. Chelsea are 6 points behind Manchester City.
Chelsea and Liverpool are both losing points and allowing City a comfortable distance. I hope that soon we will see a decline in City - otherwise there is a risk that it will be a boring championship again where the leader has a large lead and even a couple of failures do not threaten his position. but guess what , tuchel wasted it away. having lost lukaku due covid and he have to put the false nine with pulisic leading the front , it's not fully tuchel fault though as things get worse with covid hit UK quite hard recently.

It wasn't an easy match, Liverpool first scored but the game changed as Tottenham scored back and scored again at the 69th minute. I was hoping Tottenham could win the game but I went for both team to score which was filled. Just few minutes after, Liverpool equalise the match and it was drawn. I believed Liverpool will still have to suffer loss but it was drawn. Liverpool changed their defense formation after Robertson got the red card and assuming the red card didn't appear Tottenham would have lost the match as most of their good chances to take the lead was thrown away by heavy pressure. But the did a good job holding Liverpool to a 2:2 draw which no one expected

Tottenham - Liverpool game started different than I expected. There was a possibility for some really important Tottenham players to be absent in this game. Son Heung-min was among them too. It was because of covid-19 but it was really good to see Tottenham not being deprived of their important players in the game. And they performed really great that they wasted a big opportunity to defeat Liverpool here. The game ended in a 2-2 draw and I loved the performance of each team. But Tottenham really had a chance to win this big game. Especially Kane wasted some absolute goal chances but he still scored one after a very long time in the PL.
The match between tottenham and liverpool yesterday was really quite hot, moreover there were a lot of refereeing decisions which were quite controversial in that match, before the match started I don't think that tottenham was able to hold Liverpool to a draw, let alone we know now tottenham performance is really quite bad, but the greatness of Conte in concocting tottenham's game strategy now it's really quite successful, in my opinion, now kane is no longer playing wholeheartedly for tottenham after he wants to leave and a big mistake for tottenham with hold off his departure at the time of last summer transfer.Jump to:
