I was able to watch the first half through live stream. It was a fantastic first half for Manchester City, even if they could not convert one of their chances that hit the bar. It was an obvious blunder by Martinez who played left back. That position is not natural to him and that gave Bobb alot of chances to disturb Manchester United defense. Defense is still a weak point that Chelsea must improve and this was seen not only during pre-season but also in the competition that took place last season. Chelsea did not prioritize these positions to be improved and instead they bought several players who were not quite right last season so there were many positions that did not work optimally when they played. Cucurella showed his best abilities in pre-season but he did not control the defensive position himself without the support of other players.
This season Chelsea still has a lot of work to fix this position even though Chelsea may not have much time left, but overall Chelsea still has the opportunity to maximize their defensive position before starting their first match in this new season.
