It would be nice if Manutd exit the Fa cup and focus more on the EPL title at hand at this point you play lesser games and more rest, that was the same strategy Klopp used last season. $30 on Liverpool to qualify and no going back it's a good bet which I'm very much certain. Grin

I got your point because I am thinking of the same thing.
now they will be busy with 3 competitions, EPL, FA Cup, and UEFA Europa League.
I wish they can win at least 1.
United usually play better in the second half of the season.

Manchester City are going to play an away game against West Brom tomorrow night. De Bruyne won't be able to play because of an injury. M. City are the 2nd with 38 points and West Brom are the second last with 11 points. M. City haven't got a loss for 10 matches in the league (8W 2D). West Brom got only 2 wins in 19 matches. I think we will see another win for M. City here.

The time comes, City will take over the first position from United Sad
West Brom should learn from Burnley for tomorrow's match.

So let me get this right: Chelsea sacked Frank Lampard to sign with another sacked coach Tuchel (sacked bu PSG in January)? Okay, I am missing something I do not quite understand.
Anyway this story tells us the same teaching: no matter how big a legend you were as a player, if you do not perform well as a manager, you will be fired too.
I think they are looking for an experienced manager that has a lot more stronger fundamentals about tactics etc. I'm sure Frank has what it takes to become a great manager but for a team like Chelsea, who have rather high ambitions. They don't have time for experimentation. I guess they gave Frank a chance coz he asked and is respected around those parts thanks to the career he's had there and the management hoped it would work out well for them. Spurring confidence amongst the team. You can't have your team in the middle of the pack when the ambition is to win the Prem and other trophies. This season, with all the top teams dropping points as well. They should have done a better job at at least staying close to the top. Hence the upcoming changes.

Why should it be important that Tuchel got sacked? That is a plus and not a negative looking from Chelsea perspective. They will get away with better terms in contract and they don't have to pay anything to the club. Getting sacked does not mean that manager in question is bad. More or less all big names in manager world have been sacked multiple times. They are managing the biggest clubs and few bad games are sometimes enough to provoke change. It is much easier for clubs to change managers then to change half their squad so they take the easy route and hope for quick fix.

Can anyone really pick a clear winner out of those line-ups other than both the Manchester games? They all look like very close match-ups.

Villa to beat Burnley looks a solid bet. Villa were excellent last time out, and have been good all season. They've lost a couple to Man U and Man C recently, but arguably were unlucky not to pick up points in both games.

But then what do I know? My last football bet was Milan to beat Atalanta... and they lost 3-0 at home Cheesy

What I see is an equally strong defense which makes the game very interesting and tense, and it looks like the two coaches are prioritizing their defense but Manchester United are stronger.
Manchester United's victory was after a draw thanks to Fernandes' free-kick with 90% accuracy.

By comparison, Liverpool's defense was not "equally strong" as  that of Manchester United. We didn't play that match with any natural CB with experience. Fabinho is just filling in for our injured defenders while Rhys have just 2 appearance for our senior team, one as a started and the other as a sub. If Williams had stopped that cross, Rashford wouldn't have scored and the story today would've been a different one.

Difficult games tomorrow in this Premier League round.I am almost sure there will be unexpected result tomorrow,Chelsea needs the win desperately while Wolverhampton is not an easy team.
(...)

Chelsea sacked Lampard today and will prolly appoint Tuchel as the new manager. I don't think he would want to lose his first match as the coach. The highest result Wolves can get from that match is a draw.

Tuchel to Chelsea almost done deal https://twitter.com/David_Ornstein/status/1353687828086075392

should be a massive improvement over Lampard tbh. If he can adapt to the team/new work environment quickly, i have no doubts the team will start showing good results. Also, i wonder if he'll want to bring some players from PSG? 🤔

I agree. He will be a good choice for the manager role at Chelsea. I liked his style when he was at Dortmund and PSG. He is a really good manager I think. After Lampard leaves, I believe he can help the team improve its performance and be much better than now.

there's a couple of games where it's kinda tough to pick a winner like the Brighton - Fulham (clash of crap teams) and Spurs - Liverpool, but the rest look pretty clear to me: West Ham. Leeds, Arsenal, Villa and both Manchesters all to win, Leicester will have a tough match for sure, i expect them to at least get a draw, and finally Chelsea is a toss up cos they just sacked Lampard, but Wolves are in horrendous form lately, so...

Manchester united was awesome today and i think they deserve the qualification...liverpool scored the equalizer two times but the united was able to score again and in the end they get the qualification

Liverpool was the first to score before Greenwood equalized to put Man Utd back in the game. Man Utd took the lead later in the second half and Liverpool had to equalize to get back in the game. I feel we lost the game due to our poor defending. Man Utd first 2 goals was due to defensive errors, first by Milner, the other one by Rhys Williams. It's tiring to work so hard to put yourself back in a game you're losing only to concede again.

Liverpool's defense is still not strong enough to be able to be broken by Manchester, no wonder this is MU's best performance so far it has come back even though Liverpool have felt like maximizing good opportunities but are blocked and that is very strong for Manchester United.

The free-kicks from the fernandes are so good I see him that the one who does the goal is always 90% accurate.

and finally Manchester United won the match after a draw thanks to Fernandes' free kick whose 90% accuracy was sure to come in and was created in the 78th minute.

I don't know why most top team coaches in the EPL always look down on the FA cup especially when they are doing good in the EPL. What's wrong should a team win the both trophy? I believe Klopp wasn't more concerned of winning this game against Manchester United, all he wanted was a draw and instead he lost. You don't joke with a team playing from there home except your set on loosing and Manchester United is even more deadly playing from home. Kudos to Manchester United and I hope this will go a long way to boosting the morale in the EPL.
Everton is another team that did great yesterday to have beaten Sheffield Wednesday by 3-0 goals. Chelsea on the other hand still conceived a goal and scored 3 goals to secure there win.

I do not think this is always the case,,, it is just a matter of importance. When you have to win the league, and everybody believes the league is most important, then of course you sacrifice the cups, even FA cups. IT will always be important and magical for most clubs no matter their status, but it is just that with schedules so crowded you have to care about player health now.

When the team is still able to pursue the first table, the priority is the league because the trophy is still important but not as big as the league cup which is often crowned as the best team.
So from that some coaches don't really play their main players, sometimes I see that it is the 2 reserve players who will be the attackers so the league and UEFA champions they will go after all because this is a prestigious trophy between Europe.
But the coach will also try his best to become champions whatever they face.

Most of the big clubs are more interested in the PL and CL and concentrate heavily on that, but they should take the cups more seriously as for many it's going to be their only chance of silverware this season including Liverpool. Klopp seems to always whine about the number of games and try's to save players for the PL but he fielded a pretty strong team this time compared to last year where it was a bunch of schoolboys. I thought Liverpool played pretty well though and I think a draw would have been fair. I certainly was hoping it was going to go into extra time. Shame it didn't. Man U don't deserve to be where they are in all competitions in my opinion. Not sure how they're sitting at #1 in the PL right now. City do have a game in hand though which a win would take them into 1st.

Today there is ManU - LFC match in 3 hours and there is no draw this time Grin ManU to win tho!
It would be nice if Manutd exit the Fa cup and focus more on the EPL title at hand at this point you play lesser games and more rest, that was the same strategy Klopp used last season. $30 on Liverpool to qualify and no going back it's a good bet which I'm very much certain. Grin
Sorry for your loss buddy Undecided
I wouldn't deny that I saw this coming regarding the struggling of LFC and the awakening of ManU. Overall the game was good and many goals were scored. Rashford and Greenwood were great especially in the first goal which I find the best in terms of tactics Wink
After very long time we are watching very good soccer from Manchester United which is very good few weeks back no one was considering them good for top spot but suddenly things change very quickly for them and now they are very strong contender for this year title which makes this EPL more interesting but sadly with some good number of injuries look like Liverpool is suddenly slipping from this race.

FA Cup tie between Man United and Liverpool was an unexpected treat hehe. Who would have thought of five goals in this game and it could have been more?

.....
The free-kicks from the fernandes are so good I see him that the one who does the goal is always 90% accurate.
There's no doubt about that. He's underrated for this since he's mostly known or trolled as "Penandes".
Great ball movement and passing from Rashford to Greenwood for their first goal in the game.
Yeah in some of the other games also Fernandes always supplies the ball to those who are in front and that is very accurate even becomes a beautiful goal.
He is now a key player because of his always precise passes and this constant assist reminds Beckam who had this almost similar pass in my opinion. Grin

Southampton is better than Arsenal this season
Arsenal are a bigger club than Southampton but the latter are in a better moment right now.
Even though Arsenal lost to them in the FA cup, I'm expecting a completely different result for tomorrow [Arteta rested some of the key players while Southampton went with most of their 1st team players].
- Arsenal is on a better form [4 wins out of 5] in the EPL than them [1 win out of 5].

I don't know why most top team coaches in the EPL always look down on the FA cup especially when they are doing good in the EPL.
Well, it's mainly because of squad rotation due to either tired legs or exposure for other players to impress their coaches.

Klopp playing an inexperienced Rhys Williams at the back pairing Fabinho was a complete wrong move he should have find a better alternative  experienced player even if possible convert a midfielder to take up that defence role, Liverpool defence was too porous in that match and not strong enough to curtain the incursion and mobility of youthful duo of Rashford and Greenwood, no doubt Man Utd was the better side yesterday introduction of Mane and Shaqiri couldn't rescue Liverpool thus their poor runs lingers on with another tough match against Tottenham on Thursday.

I can't say I blame Klopp much given his lack of defensive options at the moment. But coming into a big game like yesterday's own with a youngster with very little experience of how to cope against tougher oppositions. Yesterday, Rhys Williams was constantly caught out of position whenever Man Utd countered.

Man Utd knew this and continued breaking off Liverpool's attacks only to start a counter and as usual, Williams can't keep up. We were lucky Man Utd didn't add more goals. They had several opportunities to increase their lead. Klopp needs to fix the defense problems we're having if not, no matter the offense, opposition teams will always exploit it.
