I read somewhere that City failed to register a shot on target only in 4 home games since Guardiola is there and that 3 of them were against Southampton Grin

They already lost 5 points out of possible 15, not the best start - especially considering their schedule wasn't really hard. Liverpool and Chelsea look better so far.

I'm really looking forward to the Spurs - Chelsea game today, odds on Chelsea will be good and I feel they are the team that's in the best form so far.

I just checked the odds for over 2.5 and they are not that tempting as the bookies expect some goals, too, but I don't think it will be a goal festival. It could very well be quite a close call in the end, which is what I would rather expect. Tottenham Chelsea is another interesting one for today. This season Chelsea is obviously much stronger in the offense thanks to the transfer of Lukaku. 9 to 1 goals so far vs. Tottenham with 3 to 3 goals, but Tottenham has been efficient regarding their points despite that bad ratio. They won their first three games all 1 to 0. I guess that won't be enough today.

West ham have a terrible defensive record in the Premier League already this season I see both teams scoring because Manchester United are going to be tired from mid week game. I expect Antonio and Ronaldo to score. I think it is going to be a close game and that is why I have gone for a double bet of a draw or a West Ham win. Manchester United have a huge pressure on them today and we will see if they are title challengers if they can push that pressure to the side and win the game. I would be impressed if they did win today.

Yeah and it is a really strange inconsistency for them also. Southampton were not a tough opponent for them actually. And they won their last game against Leipzig by scoring 6 goals in the end. I would expect a much better performance from Manchester City. I wonder what the reason behind the inconsistency is. Because their game plan is still working fine against nearly all the teams.

Southampton are a top half of the table team I do not know how you can say they are not a tough opponent. It is always harder for the top teams to play against teams that go defensive against them and that is what Southampton did.

There are going to be interesting matches in the Premiership today. In matches Brighton-Leicester and West Ham - Man Utd, I bet on the victory of the guests. Brighton started the season well and is in a high place, but so far they have had quite weak opponents. The match against Leicester will be their first big challenge. Manchester will certainly want to prove that the last defeat in CL against a lower-ranked opponent from Switzerland was just an accident at work.
In the London derby between Tottenham and Chelsea I bet on a draw and hope for an interesting match.

I have gone for a Chelsea win against Tottenham because Tottenham have many players out with injuries, Leicester to win against Brighton with Jamie Vardy scoring and West ham as a double chance for a draw or a victory. The payout for this is 800 dollars and I think it is very possible that this happens. I am most confident on Chelsea beating Tottenham because tottenham lost against crystal palace last time and Liverpool destroyed them yesterday 3-0.

I'm not really sure which match between City and Tottenham you are talking about? Afaik they lost by 1-0 and they did not score any goal. By the way, it is not really strange as it is a common thing. Even a bigger team may not be able to win or score goals in all match they play. It is still in the early stage of the new season, most teams will still need more time to adapt to find the best strategies and starting lineups. We cant say they are inconsistent just based on several matches, we need to take a look at many factors such as the opponents, their team's overall situation, etc.

Wow! Two good matches today at once! If Chelsea's win against Tottenham is not in doubt for some reason, I have my doubts about the West Ham vs Man U game! Both clubs recently played in European cups, but Man U lost to an outsider, while West Ham performed very well! I don't know if the red devils can beat the hosts tonight... I don't think it's that strange. The teams they play will obviously vary in ability, so some matches will be easier than others. But the opposition teams will also vary in approach. If a weak team plays City, they will often play very defensively. They may get a 0-0, or City may get frustrated and push too many many forward, and the opposition might even hope to sneak a goal on the break or from a set piece, and win 1-0. But if a defensive team concedes early, they then have to change their strategy and be more open, in which case often City will score more.

I don't think it's inconsistency, it's just that football can be a complex game with many variables.

Teams like Southampton can be frustrating and difficult to play.

Liverpool forwards mane and Salah are fantastic players, they're already chasing records made by Didier Drogba for the highest goal scorer's in the premier league.
Salah has been very consistent he'll be the first to do this....in space of two to three games.
I'm wondering how Liverpool will cope without them when they leave for the African cup of Nation

Liverpool always start every season with perfectly performance and have collected 13 points so far from 4 win and one draw, I think last season Liverpool have perfect too start but not lucky when half season many important player was injury and they faced until finish of primer league without many player with injury. I think if Liverpool keep consistent and all their player fit without injury looks easy to get trophy of primer league after miss last year. Beside Manchester City still not consistent after draw last night faced with Southampton and have left one top position on stable for Liverpool.

I am as surprised as you. The number of shots on target was what actually marvelled me. Football is indeed incredible, especially in Epl. In my own take, I will assume that Pep disappointed the fans. After mid week CL, he urged the fans to show more support. The fans responded and gave him enough, then he ended up not given them even a goal.

Well, it was a lucky day for the Citizens, assuming the Walker Red card and PK stood, it would have been worse for City. So, this is a pure warning to us, these men are somewhat inconsistent. Let's watch them longer.

Southampton creates a draw in the last 5 games, with only 1 loss by Everton. the club must look at Benitez's strategy for how he creates a winning vs Southampton. I thing it's not about Pep, Ole, Moyes, and bruce's strategy but this is how wonderful Ralph's strategy (4-4-2) is to make it draw. Pep didn't calculate it before, they use old formations it is not effective atm.
