Liverpool is in bad shape right now I think their problem is Thiago in the midfield he only knows how to make tons of worthless passes without assist. But Klopp don't flop in big matches besides Tottenham are also struggling in the attacking department
I Thiago is not the kind of midfielder renowned for assists, there are other things he brings to the game, he controls the midfield beautifully, his short passes creates spaces for others to move forward
Those short passes are the problem because Klopp plays direct attacking football that requires long passes; a midfield of Henderson and Thiago can not coexist I don't like him at the no.10 role maybe somewhere deep.

Cheltenham of League Two can be really proud of their efforts against Man City tonight. There were 15 minutes away from beating a team worth so much more money with players of much higher standing in the game. I really hope their players are not too sad, they deserve full respect for their performance.
Those lower league teams often play out of their skin and manage to keep respectable score somewhere until 60th minute, then match fitness starts to count more and more and Premier League sides simply outmuscle them. Did not watch City game tonight but I sort of expect that they were better and better as the game progressed.

Now I mad at myself for not seeing the result on half time and placing a bet on City. I like trying to catch games like this one and betting on favorites to turn the result. Especially if favorite team starts with mixed line up and then brings on a couple of heavy hitters during the break.

I wouldn't criticize Thiago Alcantara so soon, he just recently moved to the EPL after a stellar time with German heavyweights Bayern Munich, he'll need time to adapt to the league as well as a new team/coache's strategy and imo, he hasn't been terrible since his move to anfield. Thiago is not the kind of midfielder renowned for assists, there are other things he brings to the game, he controls the midfield beautifully, his short passes creates spaces for others to move forward; I think Liverpool will see him at his best once the whole team starts playing better.

As for their game against Spurs, 'Mou also doesn't flop in big matches', that game has a draw written all over it.

Having the odds in ways that might seem irregular is a tricky way for bookmakers to influence bettors choice in making their bets and it's really effective looking at the confusion it creates in the minds of gamblers. But again, it could be due to some reasons ranging from match line up, history, injury and sentiments with the time that most times, bettors are never aware until the game starts so, it's always up to you to either take advantage of the situation or let them have there way.

Aston Villa-Newcastle game is closing in. Like most people, I think too that Aston Villa will defeat Newcastle in this game. Aston Villa haven't won a game for three matches. They will want to benefit from this chance and get a win.
I also believe in that but i dont understund why the ods is this way...1.5 for aston villa to win is not logic because aston villa team isnt better than newcastle at this point...maybe also bookmakers think that aston villa will have an easy win today 😁

Next match against Tottenham, it is the chance for Tottenham to make a revenge and take over Liverpool's position on the standing table.

I still didn't expect Liverpool to lose at home to a lower ranking team or maybe Liverpool would focus more on the FA Cup, but I think the team can still rest enough to play in the FA Cup against Manchester United later. Indeed, player rotation must be considered to maintain fitness but Liverpool shouldn't lose at home or maybe underestimate the opposing team, Liverpool's next game in EPL will be against Tottenham and I think these are the two teams who are struggling at the moment.

It does not make senses if a team like Liverpool that has great chance to win the EPL is focusing more on FA Cup than the EPL itself.
What happened to Liverpool is not because of that reason obviously, but there must be other reasons why they played so bad in their last few EPL matches.
Next match against Tottenham, it is the chance for Tottenham to make a revenge and take over Liverpool's position on the standing table.
I can say that both team are not in their best form lately but Tottenham shows better result than Liverpool.
I predict it will be a tough match and maybe the final result will be a draw.

Aston Villa have 3, Newcastle United have 4 matches losing streak. Today at least one of them will finish their bad streak.
Newcastle United don't even score goals though. Bookmakers show Aston Villa favorite for this match. Maybe under 2.5 goals would be a better idea.
And i believe aston villa will win this match...in the wirdt case the match will end in draw and i dont expect newcatle to do big things today...aston villa to win will be a good bet

Aston Villa ? - ? Newcastle United

Aston Villa tonight will be hosting Newcastle at home in their own GW 17 ( Remember Villa matches were postponed due to covid struggles). The side will be looking to bounce back after the loss against Manchester City which i believe they deserve atleast a draw. Newcastle meanwhile is struggling and 7 points from relegation troubles. I am tipping Villa to a comfortable 3 nil win.

My bet is on Aston Villa's win too. I think they are obviously the better team in this game. Newcastle haven't shown a good performance for a long time. I believe Aston Villa will defeat Newcastle with not much problem.

I think that too aston villa are in a good position to win they are playing well and they put up a good game against man city and big teams in general on the otherside newcastle are not able to win in their last 8 matches but they are not that close to relegation.

Arsenal are going to play an away game against Southampton next week. Southampton are the 9th with 29 points and Arsenal are the 10th with 27 points. Southampton won only once in the last 5 games (1W 2D 2L). Arsenal have had a great form (4W 1D). Arsenal are really awesome these days but Southampton are a hard opponent for them. I think this game could end in a draw. I also expect goals from both sides.

A hamstring can be a niggly injury.

It ended my best friends football career.

It was always weakened after the first time it got injured.

Debruyne has always been dominating the top players list.

Manchester City have been doing very well in the Premier League recently and they are coming out of a difficult period at the start of the League. They are unbeaten in the Premier League in their few matches so far and that is the best achievement for them. I am amazed that in the end Manchester City have paid for many fans' doubts in the best possible way, and I am very confident that City will continue like this to claim the Premier League title at the end of the season.

De Bruyne's injury is the worst thing in my opinion for Manchester City. He's one of the heart of the game and he's very important. But City are unlikely to have much trouble in the absence of De Bruyne, Pep has other players ready to play when one of their core players is injured. De Bruyne will soon recover from his injury and return to the team.

I agree with you that Manchester City are playing superbly, even though the start of the season was bad. But 6 games have managed to get
successive wins in the Premier League, proof that Manchester City are on the right track. I also believe if Manchester City players can be consistent
until the end of the season, it is not impossible this season Manchester City can win the Premier League.

Regarding the hamstring injury that Kevin De Bruyne had to experience, it did make Manchester City quite lose, at least according to the news that
I read De Bruyne will be absent for 1 month. Even though Manchester City's game is in a good trend, hopefully De Bruyne's absence will not
affect Manchester City's game in the next match.

You are absolutely right and if I am correct Liverpool have failed to win in 5 consecutive leagues now,  their lost to Burnley yesterday end their unbeaten record in the premier league at Anfield stadium and according to what I read, Liverpool have not experience a league defeat at Anfield since 2017 but Klopp said it all his fault.
Do you agree?
It could have been his fault or not, but the fact is teams will always have a good and bad day in office, No record stays on forever  Wink
On Klopps decision to start some players on bench, I think it affected the general outcome of the game, but sometimes players have to be rested especially when the Champion's League is around the corner.
Is not the champions league these guys were playing games after 4 days interval, this is January a very busy week you have to rotate to keep the team in good shape and that's everywhere even the smaller clubs in England are  doing it to survive

I would've prefer a full round of EPL this weekend instead of FA CUP but hey as long as we have Liverpool - United, I can be happy and satisfied that I will see a great game. I also have a feeling that Leicester will no longer focus in FA CUP and that might be a hard game or a good thing to take Bentford to qualify.
