Arsenal - Chelsea game ended just as I expected. I was expecting to see Chelsea simply destroying their opponent as Arsenal were still having problems. They were weak on especially the attacking side as Lacazette and Aubameyang were still absent. This meant that it would be an even easier win for Tuchel's Chelsea. And I must add that Romelu Lukaku started great at his new team. He scored a goal in the 15th minute already. This could mean that he will achieve great things here. Chelsea were really dominant in this game and definitely deserved this kind of a win.

Like I said earlier, the odds was on Chelsea's side. Arsenal's line up wasn't impressive. I only recognized a few known performing players in the list other than that, I expected the loss. As for Lukaku, he has improved since the last time he played in a PL team. His run-up for that first goal was super fast! Those kind of acceleration + speed gives top defenders a run for their money.

Although Chelsea won, they still need to fine tune their attack more. This way, they can get more goals with those attempts.

hmph..
Manchester United got me pain today, performed poorly...the whole outcome of the draw today was from the source,Ole Gunner Solskjaer.

Manchester United should have started considering sacking Solskjaer as Manchester United manager. He is not a coach who is experienced enough to be the coach of MU which incidentally is a club that has a positive history with alot of trophies throughout the history of the EPL. If until the end of the season Solkjaer is still the coach of MU, maybe MU should forget about the trophy in the near future.

In any case premier league has this weird fandom all around the world, even people outside of UK are very very much involved with it and I am quite shocked to see that people care about lower leagues nowadays as well,
That's what a proper organisation does to you and its more about the league before the teams. EPL has got such hype that, the other leagues that you would have thought to have been better, like the Laliga seems to live in its shadows. Not until the EPL starts before you e got the feeling of a new football season at play. Come to think of it, it is the EPL that you could comfortably say to have come to a full opening with the fan participation in the stadium. Despite the fact that, the rest of the world is yet to declare us pandemic free. That's how full of life the league is and why people loves it.

He shouldn't have brought Nemanja Magic as well Anthony Martial.... Southampton capitalize on this midfield very well, weall saw the total number of ball losses, there in the middle of the pack....Roy Keane has said something about this before now.
Manchester missed some Chances during this game...I hope he makes use of Mac tominay and Fred henceforth. Anthony Martial was poor today, I don't think he's mentally stable.

Norwich didn’t come back prepared or is something really wrong? How they lost 3-0 against Liverpool and now lost 5-0 against Man City just 2 games into the premier league and Norwich can’t catch a break.
They were great last season in the Championship, and Buendia was their star player. Unfortunately he was so good that Aston Villa bought him. So now Norwich go into the new season against much tougher teams, but without their best player. I'm sure this is a huge factor in their struggles at the moment.
I do believe that there is a good chance that was only because they faced Liverpool and city, that is the top 2 teams in the league and this is a very rough and tough league so that is not really that shocking to see them lose to those two teams, not like they were playing against Watford and lost as well.

In any case premier league has this weird fandom all around the world, even people outside of UK are very very much involved with it and I am quite shocked to see that people care about lower leagues nowadays as well, Norwich is definitely a great championship level team if you ask me, now at least and they will have to prove everyone else wrong if they want to be out of that spot and into a greater spot, but when a team starts bad, even if it is just bad schedule unluckiness, it becomes very hard to actually pull that team together and make them work for a great return.

History was on the wrong side for Arsenal today, I really thought they would turn tables after they lost their opening match and take it has some kind of motivation but it was not to behind!
Chelsea  outclassed the gunners in every position, and without the Gabon striker and French man I didn't fancy Arsenal winning and as long as those two are absent forget about these guys winning a game as they lack the leadership and Inspiration to focus and get back on track.

It was nice seeing Lukaku play fearlessly and threatening in front of goal and getting a goal as he continues to show some nice form picking up from were he left since last season.
flawless start for chelsea, awful form for arsenal to lose two first game of the season.

poor arteta , his decision to bench aubameyang cost a lot! he even like doing a random transfer lol .. couldnt fully blame him though.
i like his passion , but thats not enough to win the game.
LONDON IS BLUE, STILL.

He didn’t have Aubameyang on the bench for nothing. He tested positive to Covid some weeks ago. Since his return, he’s had only one training session with the squad. You can’t just push him into the game like that. I think Arsenal started the game with few of their first team players, No Partey in midfield. They were up against a very good Chelsea side and with the only team Artea could pick they didn’t roll over. I can see what Arteta is doing and the future looks bright. But this early stage looks like there’s no focus, no concentration, no coordination, lack progress, no agression worst of all they lack the hunger to fight.

Lukaku is quicker than I remember him being when he played for Manchester United.

He's a different player now, one of the best in the world. We probably all think "oh, Lukaku has come back", and then, despite the intervening years, despite the nearly £100m fee, we still intuitively expect him to be the same player he was, and are surprised when we see that he's better. We know he's different, but we can't get rid of the intuitive expectation of him being the same. But he is definitely not the same player now. Chelsea last season were a good team, but not quite good enough to challenge for the title. Chelsea plus Lukaku this season could be a different proposition.

Chelsea now has a perfect No9, Already lukaku would had scored twice but the second chance was not given to him. I am predicting a three to four goals scorelines as I am still waiting on lukaku to score more goals. Everybody in the Chelsea squad is playing well except for few mistakes that almost caused an own goal by jorginho.

Lukaku is a poacher inside the box. His finishing is good but he lacks pace. So some central defence with good awareness and experience will handle him quite well. Today Arsenal CB's are doing mistakes as expected. I still wonder why choose Mari over White. Holding is a good selection but not Mari in a match like this. Arsenal had couple of chances but Chelsea did well to handle them.
Lukaku is quicker than I remember him being when he played for Manchester United. He looked very good today making runs behind the defense. At one moment he would have been through onto the goal if the ball did not clip the back of his foot as he was running. He was faster than the defenders he was going against today.  I think he looks slower because he is a big guy tall and strong physique but he is quick for a big man.

Arsenal looks like the underdog in the game, and Chelsea has the upper hand to win comfortably. But with my experience in football, I can’t predict the outcome of this game. I surely know there will be goals from both side and

Arsenal doesn't seem like the underdog because they're actually the underdog in this fixture judging from the odds below:

They shielded second their second tier players to the plat. I don't know if it's intentional but it's a totally bad idea. On the other hand, Lukaku was up front to help Chelsea fill the role of top 9. Well, we'll have to wait and watch. Arsenal matches are just that way. You don't use such a squad and expect to win the match against one of the strongest sides in the Premier league this season.

Arsenal going into relegation is a no no, no matter how bad it gets for Arsenal, they'll never sit at the very bottom of the league and very much likely not moving to the top 4 spots, even top 6 not certain under this current management.
Yes you are probably right. It would be funny if they were still there at the end of the season. I do not think they are a top 10 team anymore. They have 0 points from 2 games one of them being Chelsea who are probably a top 4 team but the other team was newly promoted Brentford who are probably a relegation battling side. They have a goal difference of -4 at the moment failing to score in any of the games that they have played. I think they will finish just outside top 10 realistically but I am hoping that they are nearer the bottom.

Arsenal are currently sitting in the relegation zone of the Premier League Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy they looked awful against Chelsea and could have lost by a lot more than the final score of 2-0. I know it is early in the season but imagine if Arsenal are there at the end of the season!

Next up is Liverpool against them and that would be very good test for both teams. Both teams have strong players and it would be also a good test for Lukaku to go up against Van Dijk and Matip who so far have played really well in starting two matches. It would be a thrilling contest to watch.
Liverpool and Chelsea is definitely a match to watch, Klupp vs Tuchel, Firmino Vs Lukaku, Lloris vs Mendy, Mane vs Mount, Salah vs Havertz. Definitely they will all have to prove themselves.
Imagine lukaku running towards van Dijk, that would be really awesome to watch.
I wish Chalobah will come from the bench and score, the guy is really good, I don't know if he will make the starting XI if Chelsea finally lands Jouse Kounde.
Lets see how it goes

It was nice seeing Lukaku play fearlessly
Damn, I missed that Lukaku has returned to Chelsea. There was rumor of Lukaku to Man City but Chelsea selling him for 28m EURO (I can't remember the exact amount), they have purchased him again for 97m EURO. I had a quick bet on the match without looking at the stats lol. I was looking for a draw.
I am glad that Lukaku did not go to Manchester City that would be disastrous for the league. I watched the highlights of the Chelsea v Arsenal game and Lukaku looked to be involved in every attack that Chelsea had. I think he is worth the 97m euro that they paid for him if he continues to play like he did today.

German coaches rocking the Premier League, huh guys? Wink

I take the team of Tuchel and him as a coach and his quality very seriously. I believe this could very well become his season. Defense is strong as always and now they also score a lot, which they didn't do last season. If they can start with a great run I don't see many teams to keep up the winrate, not even Liverpool. If they meet each other that is one huge highlight of the season already for so many reasons.

Agree, I'm personally still not 100% sure on Lukaku because he only has a strong body and good finishing but doesn't have the speed, about his movement that is not so fast it can still be covered by his strength. Still waiting for Chelsea and Lukaku against better teams like City, if Lukaku is still unstoppable then I admit I was wrong about him. But anyway, congratulations to Chelsea and as always, there's a lot of work and effort that Arsenal have to do if they don't want to be relegated at the end of the season.

And Chelsea vs Liverpool will be more exciting.
I think Chelsea wins because Liverpool have played two bad teams in the Premier League and have won but they have not won in a big way. Chelsea today played the perfect game and really put the sword to Arsenal. Chelsea could have scored more with Lukaku missing a couple of chances and Ziyech. This Chelsea team is one of the best Chelsea teams I have seen in the last 5 years. Liverpool are reliant on VVD if they lose him again then their defense will fall apart. I think Lukaku and Werner against that Liverpool team who does not have Robertson is going to rip them part and score a couple of goals.
