Arsenal made a huge jump after succeeding in the previous 3 games, from being close to the relegation zone to be ranked now 11!
I took a look on the results earlier and saw Brighton behind 2 goals from the Wolves, didn't expect them to tie at the end of the game! The total score of the late today's 2 games is 10 goals, just wow!

Oh groan lost another few accas.

Here is the new table.

Man Utd finally caught us at the top of the PL table which is due to Liverpool's recent matches that ended in draws and made us lose vital points. Looking at the table now compared to 4-6 rounds ago, there's been so much changes to both the top and bottom of  the table. I'm also happy to see that despite our shortcomings (with the draws and all), we still have less # of losses than any other team in the PL this season. Only Aston Villa messed us up this season.

So Liverpool vs Man Utd for the title? It just got more interesting.
This is very earily to talk about title race between Manchester United and Liverpool because we have some more interesting teams in hunting and this table will have some different shapes before end of season even Manchester United is doing very good but still they need some more then this current form and Chelsea and Manchester City also very serious contenders for this race just need some good matches in coming weeks for better results.

So West Brom drew 1-1 with both Man City & Liverpool. They’ve followed those results up by losing 5-0 to Leeds & 4-0 to Arsenal. You have to love the EPL Cheesy

Sheffield United is likely to end the season without a single win, from what I watched compared to how they played last season I think the difference is obvious the likes of Berge is under performing the zeel is no longer there, the players need a new fresh of air, they need a change of manger, Chris Wilder cannot longer moltivate this guys. 20 games 0 win 2 draws how can a team playing a top league performance this bad. Put Kano Pillers in there position and they would get better results than this.
There is not talk they are really worst team right now but in last few matches they are doing some better and I am feeling in next match against Newcastle they can win and have their first 3 points of this season even now its very late for them but they can give some tough time in future games after winning first game.

Arsenal seem that they've really started to pull themselves together. They are 4-0 ahead against West Brom now. After winning here, they will increase their winning streak to 3 matches. Lacazette has attracted the attention of many people by his great performance on last 3 matches (including this match). He got 3 goals in 11 matches before the last 3 matches. But he scored 4 goals in last 3 matches which is really good. I hope he continues like this. I really missed the old Lacazette. He was awesome at Lyon.

Can we see a resurgent Sheffield United performance in the next 3 games ? I really doubt this.

Dont even think about this because its not going to happen. 17 matches so far with literally 0 win and 2 draws, Sheffield lost the rest. At this point, they would probably need to change half of the squad to make a decent effort for the upcoming match

Kane have been phenomenal this season in 16 games 10 goals and 12 assists and not to mention he is helping in defense as he dispossessed the ball even more then some of EPL central defenders

The only reason that Kane was there on the back line to help with the defence was because Mourinho's strategy was pretty much relying on full defence then counterattack. You can literally see everyone on the half of the field to defend

Sheffield United is likely to end the season without a single win

At this rate, Im convince Sheffield will

20 games 0 win 2 draws

Im not sure if we are on the same page but Sheffield has only 17 matches played so far on Premier League this season

And the next goal came from Heung-Min Son just now. Kane and Son are doing awesome things together. Firstly, Kane scored the penalty and now he made an assist for Son. I hope we can watch this duo together in the same team for a long time.
Harry Kane might play all his peak/strongest football in Tottenham, and might leave after he has giving his best career to the club, but Son might leave the club if there is more Bids form big clubs to take him away from the club, but this duo are exciting and they matured together, Kane doesn't only score but his assist are as that of a player like Xavi, more goals from this two to come.
Kane have been phenomenal this season in 16 games 10 goals and 12 assists and not to mention he is helping in defense as he dispossessed the ball even more then some of EPL central defenders he is truly the Captain of the team and I don't think he will be leaving unless he is convinced that he will not achieve anything under Mourinho who will demand for more support from the board so that he can achieve what Pochettinho failed to do.

Harry Kane and Son contributed together as a duo by scoring 13 Premier League goals this season, more than any other duo in Premier League history in a single season.
That's surely will be a record that will be too hard to break if they duo continue this season like this.

Will Sheffield United really go through 20 games without a win. Of course, 3 tough opponents await Sheffield United in the next match.
With the style Sheffield played in 2019/2020 season this would have been the joke of the new year if they played like that this season, but now this is a question the board of Sheffield would be asking the gaffer, I think he has been a great coach but even greater coach that has done more for a club get sacked, its time to let the coach go, confidence is low in the team, the gaffer has tried all style and non is working, I don't see how Sheffield would play the EPL 2021/2022 season, but they can save embarrassment.

Premier league is really open at the top this season, there isn't a team capable of winning large streaks of games and we sort of change our predictions every few weeks. There is always talk about City and Liverpool as two best squads. Then we had Chelsea which looked ready to challenge them but they lost a bit of steam and then Spurs got into good spell and we started talking about them. Man United is currently looking like the best challenger but it can change in matter of week or two.
It's really going to be a crazy title race, I don't know about you guys but I'm enjoying the competitiveness and uncertainty on which team would be champions, there are still so many teams in it and no one is yet to fully drop out, it's more like a 5-6 horse race after 17 games, that's unlike last few seasons, it was either Liverpool, City or both, but this season, I wouldn't be surprised if neither of them wins the title at the end.

Having said that, City have an important game against Chelsea tomorrow, but the City team are handling quite a number of covid-19 cases, this is surely going to affect their chances of winning this big game, who thinks City will still win nonetheless? Or will Frank Lampard get another victory over pep Guardiola.

Wolves played an away game against Brighton today. That was a really awesome match. After finishing the first half 3-1 ahead, Wolves were really terrible in the second half. They got 4 shots but none of them was on target. Brighton were so dominant in the second half and they managed to bring the score to 3-3. Brighton were so close to get their win after a long time but the match ended 3-3.

Now it is 2 - 0, Sheffield with such score confirm its leading position in the relegation zone... Dunno how a team managed to be in top 10 last season, fails to win a single game in that season!!
It's so funny, like experiencing a curse for never winning. It's hard to imagine the team can't win in 17 consecutive games. This is an epic record for an English League team. Will they also hold this record for a few more matches ?
At least for the next three games.
1. Sheffield United vs Newcastle United
2. Sheffield United vs Tottenham
3. Manchester United vs Sheffield United

On paper, it is hard for Sheffield United to survive this season in the Barclays premier league without getting relegated. Zero wins in 17 games is an all time new record and their next 3 games is not encouraging either lol. Can we see a resurgent Sheffield United performance in the next 3 games ? I really doubt this.

Biggest underachievers reward for me is reserved for Sheffield United. Arsenal at least sometimes looks like a team capable of achieving good results and they have a couple of very promising youngsters so Arteta can shift the focus on their development. Sheffield United squad finished last season just 2 points behind Arsenal and this season they have 2 points after 17 games. Was there ever a team this bad in PL?

Result-wise after 17 games, I really do not think so. We'd probably have to search deep into history books to find something similar to it, I don't recall anything like it in the last 20+ years I've been following Premier League.

There were some horrible performances though, I remember Sunderland having 2 horrible seasons at the beginning of the 21st century and I think Derby finished with something like 12 points, winning only 1 game all season. But I'm pretty certain all of these teams had more points than Sheffield after 17 games played - if they continued in the same rhythm, they'd end the season with 5 points or less.

I still feel they will win a game or 2 and won't be the worst team ever, they lost a lot of games by a single goal. But yes, I think they are already in a lot of record books.

I'm watching the match between Brighton vs wolves. A great match. The match is in a 3-3 draw at the moment. Wolves scored 3 goals in the first half. But Brighton is playing just great in the second half. The ball was in possession of Brighton most of the time. The match is expected to be drawn 3-3.

Yeah, the match just got wrapped up. It ended in a 3-3 draw. Wolves could have easily see off that match and record their first win in 4 games but they backslided in second half. Well, I can't say Brighton didn't deserve that point. Brighton has been a headache to teams in the top half of the table. A couple of more strong performances like this should see them go farther away from the dropzone.  As for Wolves, this season isn't just for them.

Let see how they play against Man City in Carabao Cup on Thursday.
Then we may predict how the big match against Liverpool on 18/1 will going.
And this is the real test for Manchester United in January. As a Manchester City supporter, of course I would prefer to see Manchester United lose. lol

I wonder how their consistency will works when UEFA Europa League started in February.
Usually, they flip-flop when they have more competition to be played.
It's not easy to win games consistently when the schedule is busy. Players need rest and coaches have to think of the right strategy to rest players in games that don't really matter. This is a consequence.

I don't recall ever seeing a more stupid red card than the one Doherty got today. Tottenham won the game easily and overall had a great performance but I'm sure Mourinho will be really mad at him. They have 2 cup games now so I'm not really sure what game(s) Doherty will miss, but it was really unnecessary.
I sow some stupid cards but this one can stand with the best of them.
I am thinking this had to be intentional for some reason. Maybe he has important family celebration and he decided this is easier than asking Mou for day off Smiley

Since we've entered the New Year, we can make a short resume. I'm mostly surprised by Manchester United, they are winning ugly but currently look like a team capable of challenging for the title. City is a huge 7 points away from the top, but they still have 2 postponed games left to play.
The biggest underachievers have to be Arsenal, they are a decent team sitting in 13th place with 13 points deficit from Liverpool and United. Arteta will probably have to provide some answers to the board soon.
