Chelsea 1 - 3 Manchester City

City scored 2 goals in 3 minutes! I see that chelsea lose before the game ended the first half. sad
This season is bad for Jadon Sancho and good for Phil Foden. If Phil Foden is able to keep up his good performance, Manchester City will have a good free transfer from their home-grown talented player. Phil Foden and Jadon Sancho were grown up in Manchester City but Sancho decided to leave and grow his career in Dortmund. He took a lead in past few season but this one, it seems that Phil Foden took his opportunities in the chaotic season of Manchester City.

It will be interesting to see the personal race between Jadon and Phil if Jadon has a transfer to Manchester United.

So far with the level of competitiveness in the European Premier League, only one team has managed to still maintain it's integrity as a big team and that team is Liverpool. Every other team has just been battling inconsistency though, Liverpool have got to prove themselves one more time tommorow when they battle Southampton from an away side. I'm seeing a difficult game but still, Jurgen Klopp has always got one more trick under his sleeves and as such, I'm believing Liverpool for a win tomorrow.

Well, Liverpool is currently in a bit of a dip in form as well. They drew with both WBA and Newcastle, teams they should be beating most of the time. If they do not win tonight (and Souhampton is a decent team - it will be a hard game), there will be talk they are in crisis as well.

It's a tough season, not like anything we have witnessed before. All teams will have dips in form and results, the winner will be the team that manages its roster the best and not the one that plays the best football.

Leicester city did well today against Newcastle, they made the game worth watching while, Manchester city made the day miserable for Chelsea fans. The Chelsea side didn't show any serious competitiveness till 20 minutes towards the final whistle. I don't know if keeping Harvetz on the bench was a good idea but, Lampard has got to be getting his best players on the pitch.

It was an important win for Manchester City against Chelsea but they are still too far away from championship race. Liverpool and Manchester United already made 7 points difference, it's hard to fill that gap.

Nothing is impossible in football, with so many matches that still has to go (even the first half of the season is not over yet), I think the teams in the top ten, they all have a big opportunity to win the league.

The premier league is one of the most competitive leagues, so every team has the potential to become a champion, especially for teams that are able to maintain their performance, so they can stay in the race until the end of the season.

I think Man United and Man City are the favorites to become PL champions.

Leicester City are back in the 3rd position after winning 2-1 away at Newcastle in the early kick off today.
Leicester managed to win Newcastle as first half was seeming so hard for the both team to score a goal, Liecester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel performed a good positioning during the first half delivering well when the last man was out of position, he saved them twice or trice.
Nothing is going right for Lampard unfortunately.
He actually got pissed off today, a statement he made some week ago saying something outrageous to the fans at the press conference. He said
Quote
As a manager of Chelsea football club, I have called this press conference to announce that we want you, the fans at home and abroad to support someone else
https://www.google.com/amp/s/tribuna.com/amp/chelsea/en/news/2020-12-17-send-that-whatsapp-and-check-in-on-others-frank-lampard-fronts-chelseas-support-someone-e/

This can give the fans opportunity to leave Chelsea club for another, what do you think.

One team that has managed to surprise me upon seeing that league table is Manchester United. Mehn, being at the second place after several bad starts and bottom table spots is really a big deal though, the EPL this season is about staying consistent and that's what Chelsea is very much lacking. Chelsea really played a bad game today. They might have managed a die minutes both team score but, on a general note, they had a bad play and deserved to loose. How can you allow a team like Manchester city to score an early go and even a second one... It's just not the way to contest with top teams.

I agree with you that Manchester United's performance this season is indeed surprising, even though the start of the season has been bad
but it's slowly starting show improvement. This cannot be separated from the contribution of Bruno Fernandes, I see Manchester United are
very lucky to get this player. Because most of the goals created by Manchester United came from Fernandes' contributions. I'm sure this season
Manchester United will are in the top 4.

For the Chelsea vs Manchester City match, I am very disappointed with Chelsea's performance so far. Imagine in the first half immediately conceding
3 goals. It's clear that Manchester City already kill the game, I am confused by Lampard's tactics when dealing with an offensive team like Manchester
City by playing open. Of course, with the quality of City players who are very good, given the open space will create goals. If this season Chelsea failed
to enter the top 4, better that Lampard was fired as coach. Because this season Lampard brought in as many players as he wanted, but couldn't deliver
the good game.

I literally had to put the money in my pocket to pay for 10 friends' drinks today after Manchester City won the game. This is a very pleasant expression after the many sneers that have been coming at me since this morning. Time to return the sneer with a slightly gentle tone. Exhilarating.

Congrats on the win, very big win for Manchester City. They’re creeping up the table now & if they win their game in hand will be only 1 point behind Liverpool & Manchester United.

Its seems very hard for chelsea to fight for the trophy this year especially after losing today againts manchester city 1-3...they wasnt able to beat any of the top teams this year and the curent stangings is logic because in the premier league who cant win againts the best teams cant do anything(because there are many )

Leicester beat Newcastle 2-1 away today. Leicester played better than Newcastle and they deserved this win. Maddison scored the first goal in the 55th minute and the second came from Tielemans in the 72nd minute. Tielemans's goal was worth watching. Newcastle's only goal came from A. Carroll in the 82nd minute.

Arsenal got a good come back, they have 3 wins in a row. We talked about different things 3 match-weeks ago. The pressure over Arteta's shoulders is lower now.
Good game from Man City they completely overran Chelsea with the host not posing any threat almost throughout the match except in the last 10 minutes. Chelsea dropped to 8th on the table.
Man City still have two outstanding matches thus having the chances of closing the gap on the table invariably making this season league very competitive, and interesting there is no title favorite for now and the era of dominance by a single team is gone for good
City got played a really nice game despite losing 4 essential players due Corona Virus. They created a lot of chances the score could have been a lot higher. KDB was like a striker for City he mainly played as a false number 9 but he really hurted Chelsea Defense.

I don't Blame Lampard for this loss as yes he spent a lot in the summer but those players needs time to adjust and know each other but they should be at least be ready to compete on top4 spots later on.

Edit: Kevin De Bruyne has already scored another goal, now chelsea just have to worry about not conceding more goals because this game they already lose

It could have been more, Chelsea are in utter shambles... I've not seen Man City playing so relaxed and not bothered... It's halftime already but maybe Lampard's team talk at halftime would have an impact, LOL  Cheesy
Chelsea is drowning, until now it has only 4 points in the last 5 games in addition to this one. Poor performance and no luck, made them look so pity while they were contender for the title at some point! Man City is advancing in a steady manner without forgetting that they still lacks one more game comparing to LFC, ManU and Spurs. ~25 minutes left including the extra times and we can say that Chelsea needs a miracle to at least tie.

Some schoolboy defending from Chelsea this guys are getting our club legend sacked in 2021. Mancity are playing a league cup match against Wigan this is the kind of feeling I'm having watching this game. We have finally replaced Arsenal  Grin

Sheffiled's success was at the cost of Saudi's dinosaur juice. The Saudi prince poured in a lot of money to bring life to this club. There were some disputes in the ownership but now Saudi Prince Abdullah is the sole owner of the club. They also had some problem with their kit sponsor from Australia.
I didn't know sheffield was owned by a prince, I have heard news about Newcastle United being sold, but that failed as far as I know (I just checked on google, it did failed) and it was the only team I know that would be sold as a whole.

Looking at Sheffield right now, they are at the bottom of the pit, and there is no way they could go up anymore, which tells me two things ; 1) team owner is a rich person but he has spent a lot already and didn't get anything in return so he decided not to put any more money since club is bone dry financially , 2) team is not generating enough income to keep going, in order for a team to be at least semi-decent it needs to generate some income and spend that income back on the team, without any decent income you can't get decent players and this is the result. So I feel it is a financial situation for them instead of just management related nor even players.

When Chelsea lost against the arsenal I already suspected that they were not well and then they drew against Aston villa and I already imagined that they would lose if they played with teams like City or Liverpool. I think that if that situation remains in the next 4 games then Lampard situation will be much more bad than the current one, he will be under pressure from fans

The game isn't over yet and I don't think it's time for fun yet. Hope Manchester City can score at least 2 additional goals to secure this victory. I'm sure Chelsea will score in this match if City don't defend well. You can see ? now 3 goals.  Grin

In fact I think this can add another goal for Manchester City Grin really did not expect mancity to be easier in the first half with 3 goals.
Timo Werner is getting more and more depressed after finding out about the situation in the EPL. Maybe it's not the time yet or is it true that Chelsea has no direction?
Ahhh in own cage in disgrace.
