Agree that Leicester win does not mean anything. City wants the best start possible and they just used the game as a test. I did not recognize many players,,, while Leicester played a full squad.

Hope my new Spurs team can win the first match, I like we have the chance to prove it on Day 1 of EPL in less than a week!

Other EPL are equally to the task ahead as far as EPL title is concerned this season its going to battle for fight, infact the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Man Utd, Leceister City and Tottenham will give Man City a big challenge and give them a run for their money, ~snip~
They have a good coach and players, their philosophy is a bit different but when they met in the UCL final last season it was really interesting. This season will probably be more interesting, they have some new players, of course this will make the competition even more interesting. What I'm worried about is Manchester United. Are they still able to compete with OLE with City or Chelsea? Even though their players are good, the coach factor is the most important thing.

Leicester's victory in the FA Super Cup proves once again that the stars do not decide anything. The most important thing is the team. 11 people play football. I am happy for Leicester. I am glad that there are such teams that prove that nothing is lost in football and not everything. money decides.
Many things will change this season which will start in less than a week. Leicester with this win, ManU and Chelsea with a boosted team. It will be intense and harder for City which has to be more threatening. Their game will change a bit with Grealish in the team. I voted for City this season but I am worried that Chelsea seems better theoretically!
Money decides, yeah it has an impact for sure but we will see how accurate this will be, especially in CL with PSG Roll Eyes

Do you think Manchester City can sign Lionel Messi, who has not signed a new contract with Barça? If Lionel Messi comes to Manchester City, they will be a strong team to win trophies in all the tournaments they play. And if the Harry Kane transfer happens, it'll be like a World Mix, City. Even these possibilities excite me.
I don't think Leonel Messi would sign for Manchester city, although I want to see a reunion between Messi and pep guadiola, but he won't be signing for Manchester city or even any English premier league team, my thoughts about Messi next club is 70% paris saint German, and if there would be a shock maybe Bayern Munich, it's still a shame that he didn't leave all of his career at the top five leagues at Barcelona, but where ever the greatest of all time -messi- goes he would leave a mark.
Messi is a player that all clubs in the world would want. In Manchester City, I think he can ask for this and take an attack. However, I read that the club president of a team from Saudi Arabia offered 1 billion euros for a 3-year contract for Messi. I get excited even thinking about the possibility of playing in England. I hope we can watch him play for Manchester City instead of Paris SG.  Grin

Can't wait to see Lukaku playing again in EPL!
Lukaku could leave for London in the next few hours to carry out medical examinations with the Blues and sign the contract. As soon as the transfer's made official, the Belgian striker will be available to Thomas Tuchel, coach of the European champions: Lukaku, who has trained regularly with Inter in recent days, could make his debut next Wednesday (August 11), on the occasion of the European Super Cup that Chelsea will play against Villarreal in Belfast.

This is a different prestige from many existing tournaments, we can see that not all the players that City play are main players. So I think, with City not playing the main players then it can be said that the strength or level is balanced as well. It's a different story if this is a prestigious tournament where at least the favorite team plays the main players, if the result still loses then we can say money is not guaranteed. Indeed, this sometimes happens, but in this match I don't think we can compare it with money because we have to look at the composition of the players played as well.
At the start of the season in England, Guardiola lost his first title of the season and Grealish lost in his first match under Man City shirt.
The idea that no matter how strong your team is, you need a striker who can decide for you the chances you create, the idea of a fake striker is very bad and I was never convinced by it personally.
And there is something bold I want to talk about, Vardy is one of the best strikers in the world, but since two seasons for this moment he misses very easy chances and what Daka did with a few minutes he participated in will make Vardy's place in danger.
For those who do not know Daka, he is a striker that Leicester bought for 30 million euros this season, last season with Salzburg, he scored 27 goals and made 7 in 28 league matches.

Manchester City have made their team much stronger. And a very experienced coach guardiola is in charge of Manchester City. Guardiola may have set the team up for the Champions League title. However, winning the EPL title will not be easy. Chelsea and Manchester United are good enough teams. They will also try to win the title next season. But I want to keep Manchester City ahead like you.
Manchester City don't need to win more Premier League titles. What they prioritize now is Champions League and if they can sacrifice one season without Premier League and in return, win the Champions League, they will do so.

Because one title in Champions League will change the club history and position in the Europe. Chelsea won their first with Did Matteo, the second with Tuchel and now, no one can under estimate them in Champions League. Manchester City have good players and good coach to win it. In recent seasons, they began to go far in Champions League and it is good signal that if they consistently do so, they will win it in coming years.

Winning the Champions League title will not be easy. The leading teams of all the leagues are fighting for the title of the Champions League. Big teams like Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and PSG compete for the title. However, EPL teams dominated the Champions League the previous season. I want to keep Manchester City and PSG ahead for the Champions League title next season. Real Madrid are not stable, they can't win the title. It doesn't look like Chelsea will surprise everyone by winning the title again.

Done Deal Lukaku returns to his old home, which opened the doors of stardom for him, after paying Chelsea in all Europe nearly 115 million euros to return him again to Stanford Bridge Castle.
I hope Lukaku success. Chelsea sold 28M to Everton, they buy back in x5, yeah this football everything is happening. But, I hope Lukaku hadn't to be like another player who backs in the old club, Pogba. as we know Pogba comes into existence, he going to be the best midfielder in Juventus and even the world (Golden Boy and UEFA dream teams), after several years he is back to MU which Hugh transfer same as Lukaku.

Manchester United fan right here and honestly I would hate to see City signing Messi lol.

I laughed, but I agree on this.
Because I am also a Manchester United fan for the English Premier League. Besides that it doesn't look like it will happen, the machine has agreed with PSG. Maybe Messi won't go to City or to any other EPL club either. Maybe he will be at PSG for one year or two year again.

I don't know if it's just me but, mare seeing the line up for Pep Guardiola brought out for this final, I had a feeling in my stomach that, they weren't going yo be serious with this game and as such, not serious with winning.

He might not be but every players on those lineup are trying their best to win. The match was pretty even and if it wasnt for the penalty then the result could be different. You cant be serious to expect Pep to use his best lineup and strategy before the league starts, thats basically giving away all the cookies that they currently had

Was expecting a lot more goals in this match honestly. Also expected an easy win by City in this match but leicester took it in the last minutes with a late penalty from Ihenacho an old City player. I guess its still early for the squads to play at top level

Well this was pretty much the warm up match for the real one after the league started so yeah it was kinda boring one.

For some reason I do prefer Messi at PSG instead of City.

Lukaku will sign a long-term contract with the Blues, with an annual salary of 12 million euros plus variables .
Inter will pay 7 million euros to Manchester United in selling it to another team.
Manchester United will have 40 million euros left from the value of his sale to Inter.

I just read that Lukaku will overtake Neymar in overall transfer fees they ever cost to clubs over the course of their careers. Neymar cost a total of 310.2 million EUR so far while Lukaku would then arrive at 327.56 million EUR, wow... A couple of weeks less of vacation for Abramowitch in the coming season Tongue

For some reason I do prefer Messi at PSG instead of City. I know it will sound weird, but Ramost and Messi at the same team would be very fun to watch, not because they will be awesome together, they are older now, maybe 10 years ago that would be insane to see, but now they are neither the best at their position, there are some other better players.

However at PSG they may end up having some trouble, like some sort of maybe even a fight? I don't know if they will fight but it will definitely be a discomfort for sure and watching that will be awesome to see. However if he has to leave, I am sure that it will definitely be City, because of Pep being there and City is already good and that is why I think we should be considering that as the favorite option. At the end of the day if City gets him, they are already great, and with him they will be unstoppable as well.

They did good in the first half, both teams, at least it was filled with activities and lots of chances but then, no one team was able to capitalise and convert any.
It was just quite unfortunate for Manchester City to have conceived a penalty at that point, so late in the game! With no chance for attempting an equaliser. I felt it wasn't a good call because, I would have wanted everything to play out on the pitch but, Aké fowled Iheanacho never the less and he did well to score the goal.

Leicester City is community shield champions once more.

Many people are thinking that Manchester City would win the title again this season. And I'm one of these people also. Manchester City are strengthening their squad even more now. They have signed Aston Villa left-winger Jack Grealish for 100 million pounds. Guardiola said that they were still interested in signing Harry Kane too. And he refuted the rumours about they will be signing Messi also. But who knows, maybe they can sign Kane and Messi both if their financial condition is good enough to able to do so.

By the way, the first opponent is Tottenham. They are going to play against Tottenham away. This is not a very good match to start though but I still believe in City to win.
The EPL this season will be very competitive. No doubt, Manchester City is a good team with an experienced Coach(Guardiola). They also have a cooperative and strong squad. But other big clubs are  building their squads also, I don't think it will easy for Manchester City to win again this season. However, is Football, anything can happen. Harry Kane is a talented player, and I hope City sign he soon.
Other EPL are equally to the task ahead as far as EPL title is concerned this season its going to battle for fight, infact the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Man Utd, Leceister City and Tottenham will give Man City a big challenge and give them a run for their money, today's game was a clear indicator James vardy has two clear chances to score but was denied by the woodwork and they eventually won the match courtesy of late penalty scored by Iheanacho more of this to come in subsequent matches where Man City will find it difficult to win matches although Sterling, Bruyne and Foden was missing due to injuries.
