Arsenal's captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finally penned down a three-year contract extension.

He is the best player Arsenal have. It was already clear that he was gonna sign extension for Arsenal. He love playing for Gunners and all he did was ask a bit rise in pay which Arsenal provided. Glad that he came down and put his pen on his contract extension and deny all transfer talks linking him to other teams - Inter Milan and Barca.

Their next game against Liverpool would be great. I would love to see their best squad against Liverpool. Im not going to lie but Chelsea stands on a great chance to win the Premier League this season ( hate to admit this but this is fact )

That game has "must watch" and "both to score" written all over it. I suspect the odds for BTS market will be very low so I will probably skip betting unless they are @1.55+ but I am already shaping my Sunday around this game as center piece. Chelsea has to do something about the keeper, either help Kepa get his form back or buy a new one. Maybe T. Silva will manage to help Kepa with his experience.

Yep, it totally screams both team to score but I will stick with Salah to score, dude is totally on fire after getting hattrick on the first game. Concerning their defence, both are totally sucks to be honest. Leeds managed to score 3 goals against Liverpool and Brighton managed to get more possession and goal attempts than Chelsea

Either They were underestimating both of those Teams or both were that bad . There could be alot of goals in this match

Chelsea spend massive money on the transfer market. It is quite normal that a team with so many new faces needs some time to settle in. Time until you know the routes of your new team mates and until combinations are rehearsed.

Funny stuff about Chelsea on their last game was 2 out 3 goals was scored by defenders, its pretty rare though but it happens and most people probably wont expect Zouma to score . He scored one goal for the entire last season and he score one on the new season opening game Tongue

My bad, I had no idea that we had a new EPL thread here

Anyway, some good news for the Arsenal Fanatics.
Arsenal's captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finally penned down a three-year contract extension.
This will boost Arsenal's campaign this season in a hunt for more trophies as Aubameyang has contributed hugely to Arsenal's attack since signing for the club during the 2017-18 season.

Aubameyang has scored 22 goals in both of his two full Premier League seasons with Arsenal and has 72 goals in 111 appearances with the Gunners across all competitions.

I was less than impressed with Havertz, I know it’s only one game but he’s massively overpriced. I do like Werner though, I think he’ll be great in the PL. Chelsea should compete for the title but I don’t think they’ll win it.

That's the problem that comes with these high transfer sums. People are expecting from such expensive players to instantly function in a new team and that they will start to decide games just by themselves right from the beginning. Fact is, Harvertz isn't even in London for two full weeks and this was his first official match for them. Sure, his performance was underwhelming, but give him some more time before you are jumping to conclusions.

Lampard has spent over 200 million pounds in one transfer window. He should be expected to compete immediately, he’s not going to be allowed to fail, he spent loads. If he fails he will be sacked.

You sound like they are on a losing streak already. They won their first match! All good. Or were you expecting them to completely dominate all other teams from now on?

Lampard was a very smart player and will definitely become a strong coach in the future. But he needs time to build a team. Especially since there are a lot of newcomers in Chelsea this season. I think in the next couple of years Chelsea will become the champion.

I think after the yesterday game I can say that Chelsea looks really good after their good transfer of players for this season.Surely Brighton is not a strong team but is not a weak one also. The spirit of play that Chelsea showed yesterday was admirable and I think they are going to be contenders to the title this year although is to early to say this.
Lampard brought changes to Chelsea. Seeing the squad this season they have young players, both from the academy and transfers from outside the club. I think this process is good in the long term, because the players still have time to develop. Lampard is smart enough that it will be profitable if he is successful, both for the club's finances and for future achievements. He got through their first test in the EPL even though it wasn't against a strong team they won. Then another test will come, I think Lampard needs to work hard to stabilize his young players.
well like Chelsea will compete with Liverpool and Mancity if the game is brilliant in the future, I am happy to see this change where the Chelsea squad now has more young, talented players with extraordinary abilities, Lampard is great enough to do this for Chelsea's changes in the future his.

Lampard has strong ambitions this season where their target must remain at the top but I am sure that Chelsea will take second place at the end.

Look at physical bodies, Werner is stronger than Havertz.

In the match, Werner shows he is fast, well-dribbling, and smart to connect with his new teammates. Werner is a good sign for Chelsea. Havertz needs more time to be familiar with Chelsea tactic and teammate. He is good but he needs more time.

I agree that the price for Havertz is very high. It is crazy price in pandemic, global economy crisis and the limited transfer pool of Chelsea in past seasons.

Time will confirm the 2 players. The past failure with Morata is an example. He did well in early matches but disappeared and finally was a failed sign for Chelsea.

It's true that Kai Havertz's appearance was very disappointing in the first match, Of the 3 goals that Chelsea created, not one contribution
was given by Havertz. In fact, several times Havertz made the wrong passes, and I agree that the purchase price of Havertz is too expensive.
I think it is most likely that Havertz just hasn't adapted to the Chelsea game, I hope that in the next game Havertz can show better quality of play.

Title contenders it's rather too much to say, I mean their defence still lacks quality and signing of 36 years old Thiago Silva won't solve it. Kepa is still making mistakes as yesterday's goal for Brighton showed. In general Chelsea still have same issues as they had in last season, decent quality up front with addition of Werner, Havertz and Ziyech but defence is really bad for a team supposed to be title contender.

Chelsea was decent yesterday. Nothing special, it will take time for them to gel, but still good enough to see that the shape of a dangerous team is forming there.

I was wondering how will they combine Werner and Havertz, still early to say but the first game usually gives a glimpse of how the team will look. They looked solid together.

Chilwell will be another big player for them, left side with Alonso and Mount had too many problems yesterday. Top teams would have taken advantage of that.

Werner looked really well while Havertz had some nice runs but did not get the ball on time so tough to judge. That position he played as right winger will probably take some time for him to get used to.

Chilwell is not as big name as those other transfers but I think he will be the one player to bring most good into Chelsea team. That left side of Chelsea defense has been exploited way too much last season and they needed to take care of that.

wait a minute Chelsea? I think the team is dead because there is no good news anymore until today, finally there is good news that allows them to win with a score of 3-1 and won by Chelsea, in the next game against Liverpool I doubt for the next victory.

Brighton were a better team, it's even visible in stats. Chelsea scored two lucky goals (kinda controversial penalty and Zouma's goal) and Reece James had a shot of his life. Although I think if new signings will join the team and Havertz will finally play as we expect him to play (so far yesterday only Werner was looking promising) then Chelsea should finish at least third this year.

Chelsea played good and so did Brighton. Werner, Mount had a good game.
Werner has his excellent match even he did not score a goal. It is good to have three points for Chelsea but I see that they have not yet improved the defense ability much after the summer transfer. If Brighton did better, they would have scored more goals. The only goal Brighton has comes from the bad defense from Chelsea midfielders. There are too much space in that goal for Brighton and Kepa can not make a save in that shot.

Chelsea did not take good chances from their counterattacks. Lampard has loads of works to improve Chelsea's defense system and ability to score goals from counterattacks.
