Pep Guardiola's contract will expire at the end of next season 2024/25 will Pep stay at Manchester City again? he has served as manager of The Citizen for 8 years and if his contract ends it will be 9 years the same as Jurgen Kloop when he coached Liverpool but this coach has left at the end of this season.
The England national team is interested in appointing him as coach to replace Gareth Southgate but there is no certainty about this but it could be that Pep Guardiola is considering it and wants a new challenge to be able to achieve targets that he has never felt as a coach.

A few days ago Pep Guardiola stated that he was closer to leaving than staying is this a code that Pep Guardiola will not extend his contract and will leave Man City next season?

Source : Pep Guardiola
I actually understands what he is trying to do here, he is just biding his time, by keeping people in the dark regarding his future, so that if he feels like staying, no wan will questions it , and if he also feel the need to change, it wouldn't be like a surprise to anyone, but in my own perspective, I really do think he might seek a new challenge elsewhere, if what he is expected from the hierarchy of Manchester isn't met.

Secondly, another thing I observe about this Manchester city side is that, the team is getting old and it needs rebuilding after next season probably, so I believe that pep guardiola is trying to know how committed the hierarchy of Manchester city will support him in the rebuilding process before he decides to commit to the club, but since that time hasn't come yet, he just wants to keep everyone on suspense while he makes his observations, and I think it's a logical thing to do as a manager that knows what he actually want,  that's my opinion though.

Manchester City knows without Guardiola is not strong anymore. Manchester City lost many players but still had good performances in the last season and this team thanks to Guardiola could win the Premier League while other teams like Arsenal had good performances so far in the games we saw from them,
However, recently Guardiola showed the green light and said he is going to stay in Manchester City for a longer time.

This is good news for all City fans and the club because it shows that City will always keep to their consistency from time to time. Pep was the one that revived City and made it as strong as it is, which means that only him is the perfect coach for the club.

Rumors had it that Pep will be leaving, maybe he was looking up for a new contract by City management and I believe that has come true which will make him not leave anymore, because if he leaves where will he go to when he has built a solid club that is among the best in the world.

Pep ending up with another contract with City could definitely change premier league forever. We are talking about someone who is getting enough titles to put City at record books already ,and that's right now, think about keeping him for lets say another 10 years?

He would put City name all over premier league and build such a gap that it would be very tough to keep them down even after he leaves, they will probably keep winning qite frequently even after him, because he would be basically building a legacy there that doesn't require much. But also, when you think about it, Sir Alex Ferguson turned United into a team that is incredible, and the moment he left team start to crumble, so if City is mismanaged then even after Pep they could be terrible too, we are really not sure. Because of this, they should keep him managing as long as they can.

At certain point money makes no sense, when you have made so much money in your life that it doesn't matter to your decisions, City can only hope to keep him as their coach for as long as he wants to, if he ever wants to leave then he is going to have trouble for longer time and that is going to be something that will take a while for sure.

Yeah it's no secret that Guardiola is behind Manchester City's success, he can build a solid squad and can find the right players to place in each line. We can compare Chelsea and Manchester City when Chelsea have great players in the squad but are unable to control them while Pep Guardiola can do it well. I think Pep Guardiola wants to make new history for Manchester City before he leaves or retires at least equal Ferguson's record. By the way, Pep Guardiola's contract with Manchester City will end next season, did you hear that he is moving to another club? If he really does move next season then PSG is the right team for him.

So, look at Leicester City, which has been promoted to the Premier League again this season, where in today's match they lost and their opponents were a weak team. Indeed, sometimes friendly matches are quite difficult to predict because the players do not play consistently with a focus on winning and that is what causes many big teams to be defeated by small teams in friendly matches.
Friendlies are a whole different ball game and I wonder why punters even take them serious because most teams have experimental tactics and new signings need to find their feet with a new team..which means it's difficult to predict an outcome for such games Tongue

Leicester City played a funny match for me, they played with a full squad but were unable to even get a draw. Before the match was held, Leicester got around @1.5 odds while Palermo got around @4.5 odds in 1X2 betting, imagine you choose Leicester City and find the result like that Cheesy. But what caught my attention was Insigne, after I never saw him again in Serie A it turns out he is currently playing at Palermo, nice try for Leicester, maybe they weren't that serious about this match and just treated it as a practice match.
I just hate small odds because they are usually the culprits when you have an accumulator mixed with bigger odds, and such an odd would never be me especially when it involves football.

Btw didn't Leicester city sack their coach before coming to the EPL, thought it's a new manager in the driving seat hence the result.. correct  me if am wrong Huh Roll Eyes

It seems that Unai Emery is busy preparing Aston Villa for the upcoming Uefa Champions League and English Premier League as he has been very active in the transfer market. Even though a lot of new players will be joining Aston Villa but a few key players have also left the team through the transfer market and I wonder if Aston Villa are still able to keep up their excellent form last season. I guess the real big test for Aston Villa will be coming soon once they start their Uefa Champions League journey by playing against other top European football clubs and I hope they could at least progress to the round of 16.
The answer is yes, because Aston Villa have found an equal replacement and Unai Emery's observation is no doubt for the readiness of his squad for next season. Both the EPL and the champions league will remain high standards for him and Unai Emery does not want to lower his standards and wants more than what he achieved last season.

The problem of challenges will certainly always surround him and I think with everything he got in the summer it should not be a hindrance and instead make it easier for him to play every match in different competitions. I don't want to expect too much for the champions league and as long as they are not in the group of death with other strong teams then their path will be easy to the next round.

Given Chelsea efforts to build squad depth, it seems that Enzo Maresca will have a hard time leading his team to compete in the top four of the standings, it will take a few more seasons for the young group of players to become more mature and experienced. Chelsea management seems to still be investing in a number of young players with long term contracts, their average age is around 22.9 and could continue to decrease if Lukaku leaves. With the squad they currently have, it is difficult to say that they will be able to compete with Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United, in fact I think they will have a hard time securing a ticket to the Champions League. Enzo Maresca wants his team to have an identity, such as dominating possession, without a good defense Chelsea will concede more goals if they want to carry out this plan throughout the season.
Chelsea recruited many young players in the transfer market this season is an indication that they will build a squad for the future but that can not be a benchmark so that they are underestimated because some of those in the team already have sufficient experience so that there will be a mix of young and senior players in the team, so I think that will be quite good.
Enzo Maresca who has just become Chelsea coach of course will not be easy to make this team compete at the top but I think it is not impossible because they have a qualified squad, so everything is still possible for Chelsea and it is worth looking forward to.

I think we need to take things slowly with Chelsea. They have got a new Manager and they have been tryin to recruit and build a team that can challenge for the EPL title in the next two seasons. They have a project and it involves building a team with youths and we saw how Arteta did it with Arsenal, it took them more than a year to get to where they’re now.
I noticed something in that game against Wrexham, Maresca is trying out a possession based football and somehow I think Chelsea doesn’t have the resources for that style of play.
The players they’re bringing in aren’t the type of players needed to execute his style of play. He wants his team to play from the back but he doesn’t have players that are very good on the ball. The two goals they conceded against wrexham were as a result of lost of possession at the back. I think they need to work on all that before the season starts, so opponents won’t take advantage of it.
What's the point in bringing in players who can't do what you want? Is that not waste of funds? No one will be looking at Chelsea if their fans, players and owner don't always try to do things that will put them in the spotlight. Imagine as an owner, the criteria for looking for a coach is one who can fetch you titles in his first season with a club that hasn't been in form in a while. Growth takes process but the Chelsea owner wants it too fast that he often makes decisions that end up dragging the club farther from their dream.
Granted, Enzo Maresca still adapting and will need time to bring the team to his style of play but we expected more than this draw seeing how he was so confident that he could bring Chelsea up to a standard that they can beat Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool.

Previously Pep Guardiola has feeling very sad because he saw Klopp leave Liverpool and this makes him starting to thinking to leave Manchester City because he hasn't gets decent opponents again for race titles even Guardiola says 8 years is enough to staying at Manchester City especially with this team Guardiola can gets almost all of the trophies he want from domestic league and Champion league so Guardiola want to find new challenge by moved to other teams and this also makes until now Guardiola still hasn't signing new contract although his contract will be expired on 2025

After his statement then people has starting to speculate his future and his next destination teams after leave Manchester City because i am sure with his achievement in Manchester City a lot of teams want to using Guardiola service even before have new managers at that time Barcelona and Bayern Munich also linked to him and Manchester City realize this situation so that's why they starting to prepare the new contract for Guardiola

I have a good news about Guardiola future in Manchester City because according the the latest news i have read Guardiola might be will thinking to extended his contract with Manchester City and Guardiola recently make a statement that although he won't be last long in Manchester City but he still give his priority for this club and i think this is good news because Guardiola has been able to make Manchester City became an strong team in Premier League and Eropa and it's not easy to find the replacement of him if he really leave Manchester City

I doubt MU has a chance of finishing in the top four this season? I have to see how they change in the summer transfer window. It is disappointing to see MU continue to decline.
After all, Erik ten Hag is responsible for MU's problems. After nearly 2 years of leading the club, the Dutch strategist is still struggling with management, causing the team to panic and lose control.
I think Ten Hag's fate will be similar to that of David Moyes, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Ten Hag's predecessors all had promising starts at MU but then had to leave with much regret. If the Board of Directors finds a suitable coach in the transfer market, MU will certainly have to fire Ten Hag.
The Manchester United Board of Directors will still retain Ten Hag for next season before taking other steps such as firing him when they have found another coach who is more suitable for the Manchester United team later. However, this will certainly be evaluated again by the team management through the final results that Manchester United will get next season, because if Manchester United can finish in the top four next season, of course Ten Hag still has a reason to be retained by Manchester United itself.

Ten Hag's predecessors all had promising starts at MU but then had to leave with much regret. If the Board of Directors finds a suitable coach in the transfer market, MU will certainly have to fire Ten Hag.

After Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United entered a bad period. David Moyes, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer all failed, as did Ten Hag. Each change of manager has made the team a little more unstable. I don't think it was the right decision for them to continue with Ten Hag, but I don't know if there is a manager who can bring them back to the old days. Bayer Leverkusen had a great success with Xabi Alonso. Bayern Munich imitated them and signed Kompany. I think Manchester United should sign a young manager who knows the dynamics of modern football. Actually Ten Hag was also in this category. But it looks like it's not going to happen with him.
Personally I feel that none of the managers that's managed Manchester United since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club was able to receive the amount of support the current manager Erik ten Hag enjoys. Despite not having great performances in the English Premier League, Erik ten Hag have always enjoyed the backing of the club management and if you ask me, I think it's the reason why he's not doing much to better the performance of the Manchester United team. Like I've said severally on this thread, I expected the club management to sack him after the end of last season but since they've decided to extend his contract again till 2026, he should be forced to leave the club if he fails to perform better than he's been in the coming season. I think there are many world class managers out there that'll help Manchester United improve significantly in their performances with the current squad should they get the chance.

Well, hypothetically, if MU continues to fail for another 10 years, no one can imagine what terrible collapse will come to this team, especially when the old generation of fans is getting older with memories of the Sir Alex Ferguson era gradually fading into a fairy tale.
Obviously, MU is still a big team, revenue increases steadily yearly and it is always supported by fans. However, it is a fact that the attraction of this team to the stars has been decreasing year by year due to poor performance. For nearly a decade, MU has made a series of player transactions to regain past glory. They have all failed, leaving behind a transfer "graveyard". So far, no high quality rookie has been bought. That could be a consequence of the blind transfers MU made since Sir Alex Ferguson retired. And coach Erik Ten Hag is partly responsible for that wasteful recruitment.

Guardiola managed to win all the titles with Manchester City. He turned Manchester City from a mediocre team into one of the best clubs in the world. Manchester City Management has a lot of money. But without an experienced coach like Guardiola, City would not have been successful. City's achievements have been possible because of Guardiola's mastermind.

Guardiola is not interested in signing a new contract with City. Perhaps now Guardiola is keen to take on a new challenge. Or he doesn't want to take that much stress. This is probably why he is not interested in renewing his contract with Manchester City.

However, Manchester City management should have their plans in place now. Finding a new experienced coach. Without an experienced coach, it is a much tougher task for a team to continue to perform well consistently and dominate the Premier League.

They're currently hoping to have a good start in the next two weeks when the Premier League kicks off. They're also making changes within the sqaud to get themselves ready. But then, after the disastrous season Manchester United had last season, I feel like everyone in that club working towards having a great one this season. Top Four? It could happen. Personally, I see them finishing top three come May next year.

Only a dump person will see Erik Ten Hag as the problem of Manchester United. People who also say after two years he has struggled didn't watch him during his first season as head coach for Manchester United. Also, blind to see the little achievements he's had fir Manchester United. When you don't appreciate the little things, how can you get big things?

What Erik Ten Hag has achieved in the space of two years for Manchester United, is far better than, David Moyes, Ole Gunner Solskjaer, Louis Van Gaal and lastly Jose Mourinho. Only a biased football fan, Ten Hag hater, and a person who has no idea or no knowledge of football will write such words. No body gives two flying piss about your opinions, they don't count, Erik Ten Hag wouldn't be sacked.

Liverpool won Real Betis in their pre-season friendly with a goal from Dominik Szoboszlai in the first half with the assist from Salah though the build up for the goal was really good a lot of commendation for their youngster Trey Nyoni, I wonder if this is the plane of Arne plans sticking more with academy players rather than getting new signing and using both.

I think it is expected that Pep would be getting tried of being Man City coach from the fact that he has dominated the league and won everything there, he definitely will be wanting a new challenge and I guessed PSG might be his next club while if he shows interest for the National, I guess England & Brasil will have to fight for him though I think he is still considering what is the appropriate time to leave City in order for the team not to gradually decline instead remain a top flight team.

I agree with you. People won't remember you were in second place. Everyone will only remember the champions and history will also only record the champions. Arteta is a great coach who has succeeded in making Arsenal a very solid team. They even really deserve to be champions. I think everyone agrees that they are better than Manchester United. But as you said, what a club needs is not the claim that they have a solid squad, but the number of trophies they have won. Even though Manchester United played worse than Arsenal, fortunately they managed to win the FA Cup.
Teams that have been in runner-up positions in the Premier League are often forgotten by many people because what will be considered great is a team that is able to become champions and is also able to win several trophies in other competitions. But for next season, I think Arsenal will rise with more consistent determination from the start of the season in order to beat all their rivals in the Premier League because Arsenal still has old players and also coach Arteta who generally knows what they have to improve since early next season.
Manchester City have won the Premier League back-to-back in the last two seasons and Arsenal have been back-to-back runners-up in the last two seasons, but there is definitely a difference between the two seasons. Manchester City had a huge points gap with Arsenal in the 2022/23 season and Manchester City celebrated winning the Premier League title earlier that season but not in the 2023–24 season. In the 2023-24 season we saw Arsenal and Manchester City compete till the last match and we got a definite result going into the last match. That is, Arsenal has improved their performance in the last season from last season, if they can improve their performance in the upcoming season, then Arsenal will have a great chance of winning the Premier League title by defeating Manchester City.

Arsenal are working hard enough and they certainly deserve to win the Premier League title, maybe we can see them celebrate the Premier League title next season.
Arsenal achievements in the last two seasons have shown a significant improvement in performance, in the last two seasons Arsenal were able to provide a lot of resistance to Manchester City, but again we see that all this time their problem has been their consistency and mentality which is still considered very bad so far, two seasons of being title contenders, in fact, two seasons in a row, Aston Villa became the team that succeeded in preventing Arsenal from winner, if you pay attentionin the last two seasons, defeat against Aston Villa made Arsenal have to bury their dream of trophies, so I think Arteta needs to immediately improve the mentality of his players. to be able to face a crucial match which requires them to win the match.
I wouldn't worry too much about the late games but Arsenal lost a few early games and they couldn't recover from those losses. When a team starts the season aiming to win the title, they cannot lose any match and their plan should always be to get 3 points in every match. Also if their opponent is much stronger then at least one point must be scored against that opponent. In Arsenal's case, they didn't start the season very well and in the middle of the season they dropped points in some easy games which pushed them further away from the title later on. The new Premier League season is going to start very soon and like other seasons Arsenal will enter the field with plans to win the title but their plans this season should be different. If they can plan properly and play according to that plan as well as if the starting eleven players are injury free for the entire season, then their dream of winning the Premier League title next season can be fulfilled

The Manchester City coach is a person who is quite observant in seeing the condition of the team he coaches so that he will not even be so worried about the defeat because it can also be used as a lesson to make more meaningful improvements for the team before the new season starts. However, friendly matches must also be considered important by each team because from these matches each coach can see which lines still have weaknesses so that they can all act immediately to improve the things that are still weak now.
Before drawing conclusions about this match, look at the lineups that these teams played. In this match, Guardiola wanted to see what the young players were capable of, so I am not surprised by this result. This is what friendly matches are for, when you can evaluate a player in a real match, and not in training. On the other hand, even with this squad they were able to show a very close game, so despite the defeat, I think that Guardiola can assess this result as satisfactory, except that there are complaints about the defensive players.

Yeah, we've said it several times that preseason games are test of tactics and of course to get the players fit for the season about to start. Guardiola only feature two senior players in the line up if I'm not mistaken. Haaland and Grealish were the only players from the first squad while the rest were the upcoming young talents that he wants to test their stand. The match wasn't too bad but truth be told, City defense was very porous devoid of any tactics. I don't want to criticize based on that result because I know on a norms we would have seen a great performance other than that even if the game would end in defeat. It is less than a month now for the new season to begin and I believe a lot of improvement will be done in the areas of their lapses.
Manchester City defeat in the friendly match must still be taken seriously by Guardiola, because in fact the squad they have is still of better quality than Celtic players, guardiola fielded the majority of young players in that match  but we can confirm that the players are actually is the best young players chosen by Guardiola to fill their line up in the pre-season match, in this case I don't think it matters who Guardiola uses, but with a better strategy Manchester City young squad should be able to produce better results in that match.
indeed we can't use a friendly match as a reference to see the capacity of a team, but actually a friendly match should be an opportunity for young players to show their quality in front of the coach, so I think every young player who played in that match actually gave their all the best but may be hampered by the strategy implemented by Guardiola in that match.

I do not doubt that when playing, any team should pay attention to the Mistakes that are made , but as I have said on several occasions, when they are pre-season games , the best teams can take the risk of losing, no matter who they play against. There, the potential of each team is not measured, but what is very beneficial is for the coaches to see which players are potentially good to form the starting lineup in case of an emergency , injury or any other Situation, so since it is a Friendly term, for me it is to take full advantage of it in that sense, and I think it is only logical , of course as a fan one Sees all things.
