Arsenal's 1 point at home to Manchester City is enough for them. Arsenal only managed to get points in this match because of their match strategy. There is no doubt that Arsenal's match strategy was very good. Arteta was well aware that Guardiola's Manchester City would play an all-attacking strategy at home. And with this aspect in mind, Arteta has developed his match strategy.

Manchester City played attacking from the start of the match. Manchester City made 33 shots in the entire match. City players have 78% ball possession. and made 11 on target shots. The match was largely dominated by the City players. On the other hand, the target of Arsenal players was to score from the counter attack. And they succeeded. Arsenal players made only 4 shots in the entire match. And they succeeded in scoring two goals. City players dominated the whole match but they did not get the expected result.

It seems to me that City should have taken advantage of the fact that they were attacking non-stop throughout the second half, but the problem was that they were doing it in a very straightforward manner, I think they should have tried not only to shoot from afar but also to combine attacks with crosses or runs deep into the penalty area. But that's easy to say, but to do it against such a dense defense was apparently very difficult, and although Arteta's idea almost worked, it looked terrible, Arsenal stood at the goal with the whole team, such a sight...
Arsenal who came to the Etihad Stadium in a limp team condition, are actually not favorites to be able to get a draw let alone win in the match, but what we see is that Manchester City has to struggle to get a draw let alone beat Arsenal in the match, to be honest, the match is actually very interesting with the two teams each other attack although Manchester City was able to dominate the match,  the ridiculous red card and also unfair in my opinion ruined the game, in second half Arsenal were no longer focused on scoring and they were just trying to maintain their win throughout the second half, losing 1 player made Arsenal defend completely with almost all their players in defence and obviously made the game very boring, I think in a big match like that the match, the referee should be fair to both teams and not even ruin the match, but even so, congralations for Arsenal who managed to win 1 point although they lost one the of players in the match.

This result has made a statement to all premier league team, that Arsenal can be very strong when they want to be defensive, infact the hold the best defensive record in the premier league, and I would have been more delighted if they had hold on to those three points and not allow Mancity score in the last minute, but I won't blame them because they were tired, since they were short of one player,it makes the work load to increase and especially when city were all out to score them.
By now,City will be more scared of Arsenal because they are more dangerous than they thought.
That's exactly what everyone said about Arsenal because Arsenal were able to make a more solid defense even though they were only ten men since entering the second half of the match. I was also quite impressed with Arsenal because their players were not nervous at all when Manchester City had quite a lot of the ball and if only one of Arsenal's players had not been sent off, I don't think the match would have been a draw. But for now everyone has also seen that Arsenal are starting to be much better than they did last season.
I agree if you say that Arsenal are better this season and I think it's not just because Arsenal's defense is playing well but overall Arsenal's team play is well organized in all lines and also they play much more disciplined now.
The draw in this match was a bit disappointing for Arsenal because Manchester City's reply goal was created at the end of the match but if we look at the overall result of a draw for Arsenal who played at Manchester City's home and played with 10 players since the beginning of the second half is already a pretty good result.

I don't think you really focus on that match till the end, because Arsenal players came to that match with bold mind to prove to people that they are well organized to defeat Manchester city in their home which they succeeded in scoring two goals in the first half to lead the match 1-2 in the home of Manchester city. For you to know that Arsenal didn't managed to achieved the two goals from the first half, Manchester city would have use that one player that was lost in the Arsenal to defeat them but they managed to use extra time to equalized the goals 2-2 to share points with Arsenal. I'm a fan of Manchester city but we need to say the truth, I think Manchester city head coach use the wrong players to start the match, because he benched some players that know how to score early goal in any match they find themselves.

I agree with you. In this match Arsenal players were very confident from the beginning of the match. Arteta made major changes to his match strategy in this match. He knew very well that against Guardiola he would not be able to score points unless he changed his match strategy. And as we have seen Arsenal's match strategy in previous matches, in this match Arsenal's match strategy was completely different.

Arsenal's players were confident. And every player tried his best to perform well in his position. And they succeeded. Arsenal's overall gameplay was composed. Arsenal players were able to successfully counter the attacks made by Manchester City players.

Arsenal were leading 2-1 at the end of the first half. But in the last minute of the first half, the referee showed Arsenal's striker Leandro Trossard a red card. With 10 players, it was very difficult to resist the City players. So Arsenal played completely defensively in the second half.

Arsenal managed to hold Manchester City to a draw even though they lost 1 player in at the end of the first half and they started the second half with only 10 players I think this is a fair result for both of them because they are equally strong this season but I have to admit Arsenal's defense is quite strong even though they don't dominate the ball much compared to Manchester City but the Man City players looked very frustrated because the match was very fierce even Arsenal had a 2 goal lead in the first half but in the end Manchester City scored the final goal created by John Stones and finally managed to get 1 point.

like arteta said, it's a miracle that arsenal defended up untill the last minute that Manchester City scored that goal. let's forget about the statistics and the possession of the ball and even the numerous corners that man city had. The resilience and the discipline of the arsenal team is what needs to be applauded. If they allowed the pressure on them to force them into launching an attack against man city, it would have been easy to break that defense wall and hit them quite early into the second half.

Observe that because of the structure of the defense, halland was just standing and had less touch on the ball cause they out marked him full time. Can you even imagine that an 11 squared man city team will celebrate for drawing against a 10 man arsenal team when city is the home team in this instance? This is just like an emotional final you would expect to see assuming the structure of the EPL permit it to be so. With this shared point, it has opened up opportunity for all the teams in the current top 5 to believe that they can win the league which will go on to make the coming games more competitive for these teams. I give complete respect to arsenal regardless of the fact that they could have won this game if they were able to hold on till the next 1 minutes.

With the way Arsenal played the match yesterday, it will be difficult for any team to penetrate their defence. When you have the whole team playing in the box without having any intention of lunching an attack it will be difficult to score them. I question the Mentality of Arsenal and with this mentality that they have, it will be difficult for them to win the premier league or even the champions league. There are many big teams out there that still play good football even with red card. I have watched several games were big teams get a red card and still play and win the match. This is not how Liverpool use to behave when playing with Manchester city. With the way Arsenal played I think Manchester city deserved to celebrate the draw. You could see the disappointments on the faces of Arsenal players when Stones scored the last goal. Manchester city have every reason to celebrate.

Your post contains enough disappointment and blame but don't forget that these guys are professionals too, they did what seemed best for them in that situation. I won't understand the fact that Man City might have undermined the 10-man Arsenal in the second half after Leandro Trossard was sent off earlier and they must have thought it was an easy win for them in the second half until they found it difficult with the Arteta's tactic which you underrated.

Arsenal's defence was reasonably good despite the 10-man squad and it later dawned on Man City which resulted in the number of shots which did not yield any result. Man City played Arsenal like a baby and I never expected differently but what I didn't expect was that the second goal of Man City would be so delayed till the extra time. So as helpless as Arsenal was, I still respect the heroic defence that held the match 1-2 until the last part of the game despite playing away at the home of the EPL's strongest stronghold.

I applaud Arsenal in there game against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium yesterday I never believe Arsenal will play such a tactical football despite playing with 10 men against 11, a late goal from John stone gave Manchester City a draw though Manchester City never believe they will later get goal to make it 2-2 draw because they have played all 45minuts in the second half no goal the added time has almost gone before John stone came through for the citizens I believe that was the most reason Manchester City celebrated as if they have won the English premier league despite even playing at home and against 10 men Arsenal. Arsenal defense and there goalkeeper David Raya really did well in that game I really applaud Arsenal performance yesterday.

At least Arsenal got a point even though only 1 point was achieved, and it is not easy to match Man City at home because we know that Man City is too strong to play at home, so it is natural that in this match Arsenal expects a draw because it will make it easier for Arsenal in the next match to find full points in the next matches, if they lose then it will be difficult for Arsenal in the future and Arsenal's position will be further away from the top of the Premier League standings.

Arsenal played an impressive game against Manchester City, and despite conceding another goal at the end of the game, they need to be praised because it isn't easy to defend with 10 men against 11 players, this is what I was saying before the match started, if Arsenal cannot beat Manchester City, I do not expect them to lose, many people underestimated Arsenal against Manchester City, but when it comes to good defense Arsenal is a great team with powerful defenders in the Premier League, they know how to deal with their opponents' attackers, if Trossard is not sent off in the first 45 minutes, Arsenal will win the game. If Arteta players can maintain their game in such a way throughout the season, I believe they will have a chance to win the league title.

However, without Rodri and De Bruyne, I don't think Manchester City may pose a threat to another team. In yesterday match against Arsenal, Rodri was subbed off in 21 minutes, and a minute after that, Manchester City conceded a goal to level the score. With their current record, I don't think Manchester City can win the championship this season.

if key players, such as Rodri and De Bruyne in Manchester City's case, are absent, their team's overall performance may be affected. These external factors, such as player injuries or penalties, should always be factored into the analysis when assessing a team's potential for success in the future.

Arsenal might have won against Manchester City had Trossard not been sent off after receiving a red card in the 45th minute. Arsenal performed brilliantly from the first minute to the 45th minute, but playing half-time with one player down is difficult for any team, and even more so when the opponent is Manchester City. Manchester City attacked after half time and those attacks were only repelled by Arsenal.

If we discuss from the beginning of the match, then we must first mention Manchester City's goal in the ninth minute. Manchester City scored in the ninth minute, but Arsenal managed to score in two stages in the first half and they were ahead of Manchester City in the first half.
Arsenal was able to hold this lead until the end of the game but in the last minute they conceded another goal from Manchester City and the game ended here.

Goodnight, ohh Leo!!! 🦅
Once again, Manchester City players showed a champion's mentality, they never gave up when there was a rival who wanted to steal 3 points at the Etihad stadium.
who'd give up 3 points to arsenal, a big competition against them on the table? In football, anything that'll give your competitions a chance is really what you need to fight against, especially in their home.

Arsenal scored the most superb goals in the game though; take a look at that strike from outside the box by calafiori? Oh? I love how the brazilian machine slipped outta Walker's defensive arm for that header!

This wasn't a sort of formation per se  [/i; it was just the usual team defense, all in a bid to end the game with the scores at 1:2.

Last night's game was so tight (Man City v Arsenal)... Some say Trossard's second yellow card shouldn't have happened and this is a controversy in the media, maybe they are not willing to be rewarded with a second yellow card to red.

What would have happened if Arsenal had played the full game without a red card? Maybe the Gunners would have won as an away game.

We know Manchester City in the second half did a lot of this attack taking advantage of Arsenal's limping situation, so it's natural that the result is a draw... Actually I'm sure Arsenal are not willing to concede in the last minute.

It was a crazy game an I think a draw was the deserved result for the most part.

I think the biggest winner of this weekend was Aston Villa. But keep in mind they didn't play their best game.
The match was fierce until the final whistle was blown, and a draw with 4 goals was created, what an interesting match for football lovers, in my opinion in the second half Man City will take advantage of the rest of this match with maximum victory even though they are already 2-1 behind Arsenal but Arsenal who played with 10 players in the second half turned out to be quite difficult to penetrate by Haaland and his friends even though City's tempo was very dominant but it seems that Arteta has a brilliant strategy but unfortunately Stones' goal in the final minutes closed the match with a score of 2-2 a very fantastic match this week.

But on the contrary with you I think the winner this week falls on Chelsea, they have a pretty good victory with a score of 0-3 over the host West Ham, and in my opinion these 3 goals are very good in the course of this match, and they Chelsea are very good for this week.

Yea, you are very much correct on this when talking of this week winners, sincerely speaking, Chelsea and Liverpool are the biggest winners this week because they get their maximum point when it really matters, when the top guys are playing each other and couple with the fact that Manchester united also  drop point in their own encounter with crystal palace, so it was a massive points for both Chelsea and Liverpool.

Then talking about the game between Manchester city vs arsenal, it was actually a fascinating encounter between this two teams no doubt, and almost all the football lovers really had a good time watching these two teams going head to head at the Etihad stadium, though the red card charge the cause of the game and I was expecting an easy ride for this Manchester city side, but it wasn't meant to be, because arsenal stood their ground and fought till the very end, they were just unlucky not to go home with the complete three point, because time was almost up when Manchester city got their equalizing goal, so by the look of things, I think arsenal has bridge the gap between them and Manchester city, so if they can be consistent enough during the cause of the season, I believe that they might win the league, with this kind of performance they put in today.

EPL Table Gameweek 5

Manchester City are still leading the league table with 13 points. Liverpool are trailing behind with 12 points. It is still early days in the league, Liverpool and Aston Villa will drop points as the season progresses and the games get tougher. From today’s game between Manchester City and Arsenal, it’s clear that the fight for the title is between this two club sides.

Why's it always about City, Liverpool and  the big boys? The incompetency of Eddie Howe has ce.to my notice since last season but getting more and more visible to other folks. I know if he doesn't get them Into the top four it'll be a  good by for him at the end of the season. Playing all weeks with that squad in the Premier League Competition alone is a blessing and he should know how to utilize it. Brighton and Nothingham Forest was the game of the week for me. Nuno Espirito has been great since the Premier League Competition kicked off, I knew it would be hell difficult for Brighton to win them. Michael Oliver was too one sided yesterday. Do we need more evidence that the officials in the Premier League Competition are biased?

Arteta seems to have made Arsenal always stronger from season to season. Because I was surprised that Arsenal was even able to take the lead in that match. Maybe if Arsenal hadn't lost one player due to a red card then Arsenal could have won the match. By maintaining the advantage obtained from the first half until the end of the match in the second half. But they defended very well in the second half even though they only played with 10 players.
Arsenal don't just need to be good from season to season. They need to back it up with trophies if not they'd only be setbacks to teams who want to move forward and not be doing anything positive for themselves.
Quote
And this is the second season that Man City has failed to beat Arsenal in the Premier League. Because last season Man City always failed to beat Arsenal. And it looks like this time it will be the same.
This is just the first leg that they played and the citizens were unable to collect the three points at the Etihad so I'm wondering how they'd manage when they come to the Emirates. I doubt Pep Guardiola will get points there.

I didn't see anything interesting from Arsenal in this game, they played an ugly game by wasting time and implementing a total defensive strategy after successfully scoring a goal from Walker's lack of alertness, another one resulted from a set piece header from Gabriel Magalhaes. Arsenal's victory that was in sight had to be lost after Jhon Stones scored a dramatic goal in the 90+8 minute. I don't expect this match to be an easy one for either of the teams whether Manchester city nor Arsenal because both teams are currently enjoying an unbeaten run so for this season which makes it difficult to predict the outcome of this match, nevertheless, if Manchester city can show some character in this match coupled with the fact that they would be playing at home infront of the home fans which could be an added advantage and also might be a determining factor which may also influence the outcome of this match.

Both arsenal and Manchester city had a disappointing start in their champions league appearances respectively in the midweek where they both saw a goal-less draw when arsenal went to Atalanta and Manchester City against inter at home, but in today's fixture expectations are high and alot of people are anticipating for a thrilling showdown,  I think Manchester city are going to win by a slim margin today.
Result of the Manchester City vs Arsenal match ended in 2 - 2 draw and this match presented quite fierce competition even though Arsenal had taken the lead first with the 2 goal they had until followed by Trossard mistake and made Arsenal have to play with 10 players.
I made Manchester City the favorite but was worried about Arsenal pretty good game, but after Arsenal got 1 red card I became optimistic again that Manchester City could turn things around and score several goals to be able to win, but in the end all these hopes did not come true.

In the future, Manchester City will only play against lower team for the Premier League schedule, I sure they can win more to be able to increase their points and stay at the top of the standings in the future.
One who might be quite tough is Newcastle as the next opponent but I sure Manchester City will still be able to win.
