The new season is by the corner and we might see something different or similar to what happened when Manchester City won the league with Arsenal struggling to get the EPL title and it got me wondering if Arteta can be classified as a failure for losing the chances of becoming Champions with the Gunners two time in a row? We know the Gunners was this close to snatch the title against the Citizens last season. To me last season was the best Arteta and the Arsenal boys have gone to battle with the Citizens and Pep wasn't too calm last campaign because the pressure of losing the title to Arsenal was too much but we know how it ended with some silly mistakes Arsenal made when they started losing games they were suppose to win that caused them the chances of winning the league.
So I'll ask because is still getting me worried about the Arsenal manager (Arteta), some fans will say he tried but trying isn't a trophy to me, is Arteta a failure to the Arsenal fans or he should be celebrated for trying to win the league title two times in a row?

Pre-season games usually don't have any motivation for the top clubs to win the game. Yes, I agree that in this match both teams gave one hundred percent of their abilities. But this is not the first time a top team from the English league has lost to a mediocre team. I think Manchester United really made this a game to test a lot of different tactics. Rosenborg scored a goal late in the game so I think both teams played very well. But a defeat is still a defeat and Ten Hag also said that this was not the performance United should have.
As far as I Know, most big teams don't finding motivation in such preseason game's as this could bring injuries to star player's which could cost them big but it's also a great opportunity to try out new signins and new tactics for  managers if they choose to make good from this!

As of the loss, I had to look at which senior players featured for Manchester United and I can confidently  report that very few of Uniteds big names featured here and we shouldn't put much pressure on them as the result is on the youngsters who failed to deliver a win for lack of team chemistry, but come August ,Utd will not have excuses for failing to deliver wins as the league will be in full swing!!

Manchester United is doing a good thing because it has been seen since last season that the defense is their team's weakness and now they are trying to cover this weakness.
Manchester United is a team that continues to improve for the next season, that is a positive thing and the transfer market is still long, making it more likely that Manchester United will improve their team, if they continue to make changes to their squad, I am quite optimistic that Manchester United could be better next season.
Everyone will also see how Manchester United will perform at the start of next season until the end of next season. Because from what I see, it is not only the defense line that Manchester United needs to improve, but the midfield and attack line also need attention from Manchester United. Because a strong team must be able to excel in all areas in order to win the Premier League and the European League, because Manchester United will also play in the UEL next season.

United's problem last season was so complex, the whole team needs to be improved, not only by having new players but strategy, mentality, and teamwork need to be improved alot.
Will they become better next season? I will not expect too much because even if they are improving their squad by getting new players I'm sure there is no instant effects.
If I have to predict. they will be still struggling hard next season just to be back on top 4 at the end of the next season.
They can get less loses next season compared to last season will be more than enough if you ask me, but of course I want to see them to be more competitive to make the whole league become more interesting to follow.

Smart is not enough, there must be skills

Currently Man United are trying to change their squad by bringing in several players this is something Erik Ten Hag is doing to start the upcoming season, I don't expect so bad we will now judge like the previous season because of poor performance while to see this team we have to see the match later after the Premier League starts.

It seems that Man United will get a lot of attention for every line that is lacking, we don't know the name that will be brought back to Old Trafford, some players have signed an agreement now waiting for the attacking line whether the previous one is enough or will recruit another player's name.

Ha! Nothing is changing at Old Trafford as long as they still employ Erik Ten Hag.
I second this, but i don't think Ten Hag is the sole problem, even if Manchester United had fired Erik Ten Hag and employed a new manager, i would not still have high hopes for them next season. There is quite a lot of things wrong at the club, though they have started fixing some of it, particularly from their hierarchy, there've been good appointments lately and with Sir Jim Ratckliffe now a part of the club, there could be some progress for them next season.
Actually for now, sacking Ten Hag or letting him stay at Manchester United for at least 1 more season, both options have their own risks.

When Manchester United choose to replace Ten Hag, they will be new again where the club will definitely have to find a new coach and with the transition and re-adaptation, it will also not guarantee Manchester United to change quickly. But keeping Ten Hag for the time being is a risk, especially given his authoritarian attitude, which could result in the same situation as previous seasons.

But in this case I actually expect Manchester United to look for a new coach who does have more competence, although indeed this will not be a guarantee to bring Manchester United to perform better in the first season but at least there is hope when it happens with a new coach because to force Ten Hag it is very risky. It's just that Manchester United continue to work with Ten Hag, even though there is a lot of criticism of this.

I don't think much problem with bad result of Manchester United pre season match after defeating by Rosenborg B.K because most of youth players, Erik ten Hag would give more minute playing for young players and combined with any senior players such as Casemiro, Mason Mount and Marcus Rshford.
Manchester United's tactician Erik ten Hag not priority with winning result on pre season match, he want see which one any young potential players promote to senior team next season and he want see new players will adapt well with his tactician or not.

After facing Rosenborg B.K, three days later Manchester United have second pre season match against Ranger and I think Erik ten Hag will give more minutes playing for young players and not priority must win on pre season match.

Pre-season games are never a priority to win, rather they are used as test grounds for the coaches. Erik Ten Hag, like every other manager, will try to build a starting eleven, along with the bench during the pre-season. This is where he can test out the players in a full-length match, and also try his tactics out.

In Man United's match against Rosenborg, they tried out a lot of young players, with only 3 senior starters. I don't think losses in the pre-season matter unless they end up losing all of their games, which by the way is very unlikely. I think Man United has a great squad to start with, and they will do good in the pre-season, followed by a good start in the league.

Even though it's a friendly match, of course Rosenborg will make the best use of this opportunity and it seems like Rosenborg really enjoyed the match and it is indeed a rare moment and of course Rosenborg has now managed to beat Erik ten Hag's troops and Rosenborg will definitely be proud of this result because after all Manchester United is a popular club and of course now Rosenborg would be proud of that victory.

Rosenborg will indeed be very proud, but supporters of these two clubs think there is nothing special in this match and Rosenborg should not think that it is easy to beat Man Utd because that was not the real performance.
Erik Ten Hag is just experimenting with the players he currently has and in pre-season matches like this, all clubs are also doing the same thing to take advantage of this opportunity to try out several strategies or use several players who will later be used as main players in the new season has begun.

Manchester United is doing a good thing because it has been seen since last season that the defense is their team's weakness and now they are trying to cover this weakness.
I guess that you are a fan of MU, you are the one trying to cover up MU's weakness. I don't see what they are doing well. Recently, MU players did not show anything good against Rosenborg. They were defeated by Rosenborg in a friendly match.

Manchester United is a team that continues to improve for the next season, that is a positive thing and the transfer market is still long, making it more likely that Manchester United will improve their team, if they continue to make changes to their squad, I am quite optimistic that Manchester United could be better next season.

It is difficult to mention all of MU's problems because, instead of stumbling in a certain stage of competition, there are difficulties throughout. The most prominent problem indeed is that MU has a very poor defense.
I doubt Ten Hag's strategy. I believe that his approach relies more on personal skills than a systematic tactical plan. MU's strikers constantly pressure up front while the defense drops deep, often leaving a lot of space in the midfield. At that time, goalkeeper Andre Onana became a victim of Ten Hag's tactics. I'm afraid that next season if they continue to be unstable, they will rank lower than last season.

Besides it would be too much if anyone took friendly matches seriously. Winning or losing won't have any impact, so I'm not interested in watching it and Manchester United is still in the adjustment stage, Erik Ten Hag also seems to want to experiment. For Rosenborg this victory is actually a positive thing, it motivates them to be able to play even better, plus it is an honor against a giant EPL club. For Rosenborg this is a rare match that not all clubs can play.
For Rosenborg, this match is certainly a rare opportunity that they must take advantage of to test their strength. It's just that I quite understand the disappointment of some people about the results of the match. Because even though Erik Ten Hag only played young players, several main players were withdrawn and replaced in this match. But what I can say now is that it means Man United's young players have lost in quality to Rosenborg's players. So in essence Man United does not have good strength in their second layer and among their young players. Or it could also be because of the bad strategy used by Ten Hag. After the match, Ten Hag also spoke and he felt that Man United should be able to play more than that. Which means he also didn't expect this result. Yes, it was only a friendly match, but we can also make some assessments from this match. Just like Ten Hag who also definitely assesses each player and the results of the match.

It's true that what you said about Manchester United's young players can still be called not strong enough, but of course Erik ten Hag also didn't expect this to happen, but yes, I hope that with Manchester United's defeat, Erik ten Hag can improve his players and of course the Manchester United fans will also definitely be disappointed with this.

yes, even though it is a friendly match, of course everyone will judge, but of course this incident will definitely be a valuable lesson and of course we will see the next friendly match, namely Manchester United against Rangers and of course we will see Erik Ten Hag's troops competing again and of course we will see either Ranger will win or Manchester united will win. but I am sure that in that match Manchester United will have the potential to win.

and of course in the Rangers match against Manchester United, in my opinion, Manchester United should have won because of course if, for example, Rangers lost, it would definitely make it difficult for Manchester United to compete in the Premier League.

In the friendly match played by Tottenham against Hearts, Son and his friends managed to win with a fairly landslide score in the match. I was quite impressed with Tottenham in this match, because the game shown by the Tottenham players was very good in that match. Even the new players brought in by Tottenham, Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall, also played in this match, and the two new players showed very good performances. Lucas Bergvall was even able to provide one assist for Tottenham in that match. So by looking at the composition of players and also the strategy that Tottenham currently has, I am sure that Tottenham can definitely become a tough competitor in the Premier League next season. Because I see that Tottenham's defense, midfield and front line are currently arguably better than last season. So with these facts, I predict that Tottenham will most likely be a team capable of competing in the top 3 of the Premier League.

And the Tottenham players who scored goals in this match were

  • Johnson
  • Lankshear
  • Moore
  • Djed Spence
I am glad to see these Totenham young players. They showed amazing skill in their first pre-season game. That's a result they deserved. Hearts was not strong enough to fight Tottenham. But, I really appreciate their performance. It seems Tottenham has very good young players as a part of their regeneration process.

Still, this Swedish boy (Lucas Bergvall) is my favourite, though he has not scored in this game. Bergvall's performance is so amazing in this game. He was showing an unbelievable performance. It was his debut with Totenham in this pre-season match. He was really versatile, and he is also able to play defensively too.

This is what Ange wanted from him, a versatile midfielder who is also good at playing defense. A complete package to be the future of Totenham's midfielder.

Unfortunately Son did not score a goal in this match, and I hope that in the next friendly match Son can score goals again.
That's bad for him, but it's time for young players to shine. But, I really appreciate how he gave young players a chance to prove their worth. He was a senior player, and he has done his job in the pre-season game.

It looks like Manchester United's center back duo will be eagerly awaited and with the arrival of Leny Yoro they should be able to increase the strength of their defensive line to become even stronger. There was Lisandro Martinez who was known to be very fierce even though his body was not very tall, but his anticipatory instincts were always mature and he always did not hesitate when dueling with opponents who were bigger than him.

I think Erik Ten Hag has found the right formula with the arrival of Leny Yoro and Manchester United should not be in trouble next season. The rest is just a matter of how they can further develop the rhythm of the game on the field and the small decisions they have to consider in order to achieve victory. Well, let's see whether Leny Yoro can provide high expectations for the fans.

Do you guys watch this game? I watched it, and yeah, Ten Hag's team needs time to build their chemistry. The result wasn't bad. But, they were against a mediocre team. It's part of Ten Hag's process of rebuilding his club. And absolutely nothing wrong with this result achieved by Manchester United in this game. The first and youth team squads needed minutes, and that’s all. United played so damn well in the first half, but the second half was boring enough to watch. I can still understand it. This is the first pre-season game, and I shouldn't have big expectations for Manchester United.

Glad to see Ten Hag is trying to give minutes to so many young players of Manchester United. It seems Ten Hag is trying to identify which young player will be able to step up into the main team. I consider this game is about a fitness for all young players of Manchester United. Vitek showed whether he is worthy enough to be considered. He deserved a clean sheet, but he was not lucky enough in that game.

This game is good enough to give cardio to the young players of Manchester United.

I actually did not watch the game but going by your analysis of the game, I actually do not see any difference from Erik ten Hag. I'll try and see the highlights of the game later so I can have the visual knowledge of the game. The talk about giving young stars of the club minutes to play is not something new when it comes to preseason games if you ask me because that's what most managers do in other to know the young players in the team that are worthy to play first team football.
Rosenborg though isn't a bad club in terms of performance as they're the most successful Norwegian club but against a club like Manchester United who happens to get the record winner of the English Premier League title, losing against Rosenburg I think is a bad result.

Hopefully Man United won't play that bad when the season starts. And actually in the pre-season match against Rosenborg we saw that Man United did not play with their best squad completely because in that match Man United also gave the young players the opportunity to play. So I really understand these results. But if ten Hag is able to make a good strategy then even with young players he should be able to show a better game than that.

Ha! Nothing is changing at Old Trafford as long as they still employ Erik Ten Hag.

Also, I don't know why you all are taking pre-season results too seriously. It is common for games like this to end in draws or defeats, since they are not playing a full-strength XI. Rather, the objective is for the manager to figure out what tactics will work and not work at the beginning of the season, and which players he should use for that.
Same thing i thought too, the philosophy of Ten Hag will not change anything at Old Trafford that’s if he even has one because since the beginning of his time we have not noticed anything different and it even seem like their performance is depreciating every year. He doesn’t seem to be teaching the players anything and the same thing is still happening at the pre season games.

Preseason games are meant to workout the best strategy and best players to use ahead of next season and so preseason games are not to be taken seriously as some strategy will fail but Ten Hag should be trying things out with more experienced players instead of trying out a whole bunch of youngsters who still need time to develop. It’s not bad to give youngsters chance but you shouldn’t rely fully on them so they can learn from older players.
what do you expect a coach that saud he will be fighting for fourth position this season,  don't expect anything from him he will still cause more problems in the dressing room, I dislike him,he's not fit to manage a club like Manchester United, have not seen any good players he has brought to the squad this season. I'll be be watching more of Real Madrid matches and Alnassr this season.

There are still doubts about Erik Ten Hag but the club management believes in Erik Ten Hag and several staff from the Netherlands have brought Ten Hag's wishes.

Pre-season matches can be said to be matches for fun and it's just young players testing their skills on the pitch by looking at Erik Ten Hag's prospects for the players who will be brought in later, don't be surprised if you lose to Manchester United sometimes it's embarrassing sometimes we have to understand it. This is exactly what we are talking but some people see it as baseless criticism. This preseason games are not just about the results. It is a game that allows teams to test their tactics before season starts and its results has no any impact. Both teams played well actually but were there any tactics employed by Manchester United better than last season? The answer is obviously NO!

United had the same issues last season. They literally can’t pull down the ball and play through the midfield, they only pass it around the back and then play a long pass that often results to lose of possession. By now, it’s expected of Ten hang to have a defined pattern of playing but nothing actually seems to change for now.
I think that people wants Manchester United to play as best as possible in any kind of match and never do experiment except in training, while the reality experiment must be tried in everything, start from training, friendly match and then the official match if it works.

Expecting a strategy will work after it successfully in training isn't make sense because the pressure is completely different.

I have no issue to see a team lose against weak team in friendly match.

If Man United has made a lot of improvements I believe their performance will improve but if they keep the existing players like last season I'm not sure Man United will perform well next season (IMO).

Jonathan Tah is just interested in joining Bayern Munich, I haven't heard anything about joining Manchester United. But, if that's the case, I doubt Manchester United would request for the player any longer because they've already bought a new center back from Lille, even though there was a lot of drama before they got the player, since Real Madrid is also interested in signing the players. Everyone is wondering whether Manchester United will do better next season or not, but we'll see how things go.

Rosenborg Football team won the match against Man United football team.  Match was fighting and both teams gave their hundred percent to win the match. N. E. J. Holm  was a top performer of the match because he did single goal of the game and no one could goal after the first goal.  Match was performed in Lerkendal Stadion stadium and that stadium was lucky for Rosenborg team.  Many Man United fans expected that they will win this match but that was only expectation and that was not reality. The stat of Rosenborg team was more stronger than Manchester United team and Rosenborg team played 22 shots in the match from which  7 were on target and that possession percentage of Rosenborg was also high and that was 55 percent. The were best in all things and that's why they are winners of the match and  Man United are loser of this match.

Despite the fact that it was a pre-season match, I did not expect Manchester United to finish the game without scoring a goal, even though some of their key players were substituted in the second half, I think the attacking players Manchester United had in that game are capable of scoring goals. I believe the midfielders and several important players were absent, but Manchester United could do more in their games, some player's performances during the pre-season decide how they will perform during the season. Rosenborg had 22 shots, 7 were on target, while Manchester United had 5 with two of them on target. This is only a pre-season game, but I'm already worried about Manchester United's performance next season.
