It is too soon to say anything. Pep is not a young boy, he is one of the best manager world have ever seen. The team may have lost their way in home league but Champions League is entirely different.
Pep has one of the worst season since the day he became a manager and built up his reputation with Barcelona. I thought Pep has been in the worst period in his career. I won't go to surprised if Pep will get sacked at the end of this season.

I think that Manchester City has lost motivation totally for the Premier League and if they continue in this way they will risk to fall even out of the rankings that go into Champions League. They need to wake up and start applying the football they are used too.

The way they’re playing at the moment, I think Real Madrid will destroy them in the last 16 of the CL.
Now I am also feeling same as in last few matches they are really aweful they need to work on this as they have very few days on other hand Real Madrid is doing very good job as they beat Atletico two time and on top of La Liga they can give surprise to City as now they are able to handle big matches.

It is too soon to say anything. Pep is not a young boy, he is one of the best manager world have ever seen. The team may have lost their way in home league but Champions League is entirely different. Take the example of Liverpool. The team has beaten every opponent in Premier League but was unable to beat Napoli in either of the clash. There are better teams in England than Napoli but the pressure and game-style of Champions League is entirely different and Liverpool didn't have answer for Napoli's game-play.

Another thing going in Manchester City's way is the schedule of Round of 16. They will play reverse leg at home. Stats say that team playing reverse leg at home has more chance of winning.

It is not the motivation only,,, it is the discipline to keep things going. The red card from Zivchenko and the should be red card from Sterling showed that clearly for all that they do not have the mentality to keep going when they are in a bad rut. Now the test is for Liverpool to prevent this same mentality next season when they go again.

So proud of my team. Now 4th place is not far away!

Congratulations to Liverpool and their loyal fans. Sad day for Pep, especially after Mourinho beat him Grin

Damn it. I actually wanted to lower my trolling rate. But as the special one said, "The I sink on the cake," tell us the story how his team shuts Man City down and deservedly won the match.

In addition to CryptopreneurBrainboss's opinion, IMO, there are no unbeaten tactics. Managers must analyze and adapt to the opposition. Pep is not good at this as he only knows tiki-taka.

Mourinho gave a huge gift to Klopp.
Okay, Klopp got this championship by his own - he built this huge point gap by himself but none expected that Mourinho's Tottenham is going to get the 3 points from Man City.

This isn't about Manchester city Instead it's Pep's fourth season syndrome. If you watched him coach Barcelona, you would had observed Barcelona suffer same fate as Manchester city in their fourth season playing under the management of pep just as Manchester city are currently suffering. That season Barcelona also finished second and got knocked out of the champions league, although won just one domestic title, same thing will happen to city this season.

The players aren't responding to his tactics and it's time to end it as a city manager before it becomes more ugly. Manchester city are already losing the respect other clubs had for them rapidly and sooner or later they'll be degraded to the level of their rival Manchester United. The only thing that can save Pep is, if he was to win the champions league which is unlikely to happen.

Did you see the face of Pep Guardiola in the interview that he gave after the game? clearly his face was one of shock and disappointment. while Jose mourinho face in the interview he gave after the game clearly showed that he was very happy with the result.

Pep Guardiola is definitely disappointed the game yesterday because he did not score even one goal there, with the loss of players from Mancity this certainly makes them lack concentration and chaos in his game, really it's a surprise I don't think this match will end like this.

This needs to be changed again after seeing a game like this, my Pep will change the total.

next game:

Manchester city - West Ham

Is a good chance of Manchester city to win
Though there is not a lot of motive now except fight for a second place, I think they will win the upcoming match. Manchester City usually have a tendency of bouncing back after a defeat with also lots of goals.
However,  you have to put it in mind that the champion's league is around the corner and Pep might start doing some rotations

a very important victory won by Spurs. When their rivals to compete in the top 4 won the previous draw. Now the distance from Chelsea is only 4 points. This will further motivate Tottenham's squad to continue to pursue that position.

Mourinho was better prepared for this game.
Manchester City has officially lost the championship now.
They didn't play good at all and this lost was totally deserved.

I think the loss was expected of manchester city, they have been inconsistent this season, losing several goal scoring chances and equally drawing and losing.
City has lost to a bad manchester united team twice this season already, which highlights their failure this season.

Perhaps there will be a bounce back next season, but city is off the pace already. A Madrid thrashing out of champions league would be guardiola biggest fear at the moment.

I think there is really no need to make a deal out of this one game, City is still City and they will definitely and they have the power to defeat like maybe 17 teams in the league easily. The only difference is, Tottenham is just one of those teams that can actually play against the best of the teams, they can actually play very well and if the top teams are on their bad days they can win it as well.

The other side of the story is that Tottenham with Mourinho is now doing better they have been on a two win streak now, and if they continue to keep this up at the end of the day they can pass Chelsea as well, which would make a big difference for the next year as well since that would literally give them much more money and much better players as well for the future.

Well manchester city didn't play that bad to be honest. They hit post twice, miss a penalty and many clear chances missed especially Gundogan missing that open net. They were surely lacking luck as well as confidence. Also both goals were scored when they were one man down. But whatsoever was the reason, after this match I really start losing interest in premier league. Other European Leagues are still competitive and every match is do and die but everything is looking sorted in England.

The final scores from all three matches yesterday (MU vs Wolves / Arsenal vs. Burnley / Man City vs. Tottenham) are truly unexpected, especially in the Man City vs Tottenham match which ended in Tottenham's victory (2 - 0).

I think that Manchester City has lost motivation totally for the Premier League and if they continue in this way they will risk to fall even out of the rankings that go into Champions League. They need to wake up and start applying the football they are used too.
Man City and Coach (Pep) must re-evaluate their strategy so as not to make the same mistakes in the next match.

It could also be Pep wanting veal for dinner and got fish instead.  Grin  Yeah yeah Mou got lucky cos City got a red card...  But Tottenham was holding off City before that.  It could have ended in a draw imho.

Well they were doing everything right. Didn't expected Spurs to win with how Manchester City were leading the game with game shot counts and possession but after Zinchenko was sent off Spurs did a good job while they were one down on the defense line and Son's goal was off a deflection.

Spurs did well out there in the end with their quick attacking and Mourinho must be happy with what they achieved and against whom.

If this is really happening to City, it's quite strange that a club as big as City should not lose motivation, even though hopes to win the EPL trophy are almost closed, like you said there is a Champions League ticket for the next season that must be kept secure because the clubs below them will continue to aim to be able to grabbed the ticket, and the City coach is an experienced coach, he should still be able to maintain the motivation of his players.

Maybe yes, Spurs will occupy the 4th position to replace Chelsea when they can beat him at Stamford Bridge on the 22nd this month.

I think this match is a very crucial match for Spurs.
